The Charr and the other 'cute' races.

I have 16 slots and not one Charr.
I’d like to have one and tried a few times, but the loping run makes me queasy.

I have 16 character slots and 12 bank tabs, so obviously I’m more than willing to support a team making a good product.
This, however, is a huge screw-up. First they charge full price for a fraction of a game, then they want you to drop MORE money on a new slot! The only word that comes to mind is “sleazy”.
You let me down, Anet. I hope you rethink this.

Yes, thank you. I was having the same problem after the update and that was the fix. It’s annoying not knowing if it’s a problem with your computer or just a new bug.

I’d like a way to get the big block of text off the upper-right side of my screen.

I’ll never finish my personal storyline and I don’t care about the living story. If I minimize that stuff it just pops back up randomly, mocking me.

Does Guild Invitees occupy your guild roster?

Maybe a suggestion to you; stop randomly inviting people into your guild. Ask them, and if they say no, leave them alone. It’s the polite thing to do.

Part of the reason I started my one-man guild was to stop these annoying random invites. It got to the point where instead of just declining I’d join and act like a complete tool until I got kicked.

So try a mesmer.
It’s true they require a lot more finesse than the heavies, especially in the early stages, but if you have dodging down and know when to run you shouldn’t have too many bad situations.

They’re middle of the pack solo/leveling-wise until they hit 40, and then, like you said, they really start to shine. You just have to be a little patient until the good skills and traits kick in. It Will be worth it.

I hear they’re arguably the best class in WvWvW and fractals; I only PvE so I can’t comment on that.

Besides, you already have medium and heavy armor classes. Now you’ll have a good place to stick all that cool light armor that drops for you.

Talk to a guild registrar like the one in Lion’s Arch by the bank after researching it.

Thanks for the Monthly

Basically, what I’m seeing here is, people want monthlies that can be done in 2 days tops.

I don’t think that’s the case. I think people want monthlies that they can actually finish while playing the game the way they like.
I have 4 level 80 characters and another close to it and I’ve never stepped foot in a dungeon or that fractal thing, and I’d rather stick my junk in a blender than PvP or WvW. It was quite a pleasant surprise when the new monthly popped up and I realized I’d actually be able to finish it.

That said, it was too easy. Maybe if they added stuff like “View 30 Vistas” or something map-sensitive it would make it more interesting, as well as what many others have said and give people a choice of monthly targets.

I’d like to add my official “thank you” to the Anet team as well.

Why does my character run slower when hit?

I noticed this playing my engineer; when I throw down a turret at an event spot and go do something else I always know when it’s being attacked/attacking because I slow down.

You can already venture to any race’s starting area.
First, go to Lion’s Arch (hit the crossed swords in the upper left to take you to the pvp area, once you get there just run forward for 10 seconds to the portal).

Second, once you get to LA look for the circle of purple portals. Each one takes you to a different race’s home area. (there’s a few circles of portals, the correct one’s north of where you warp in, not the one next to you.)

Third, explore the home area till you find the exit for the starting area.

By the way, using the pvp shortcut to LA is free, so use it early and often to save coins.

How big's that download?

It would be nice to know how big updates are while you’re downloading them.

Currently, all it tells you is the number and percentage of remaining files, which means nothing to anyone except the Anet team. You could download 98% of the files in a minute, but the remaining 2% could take an hour to load.

Instead of “downloading 467.06mb”, a simple addition like “downloading 467.06mb of 1.2gb” would let us know about how long till we can play again.

Played for 200+ hours exotic never dropped

After 430 hours I got an exotic drop last night.
A staff. My lvl 80 ranger and lvl 78 warrior were not overjoyed. On the other hand, my lvl 20 mes will be well-kitted when she grows up; especially since every bit of good armor that drops for me seems to be freakin’ light armor.

Lower level gear upgrades..buy or drops?

Greydawg.6278

I always try to keep my armor and weapons within 10 levels of my characters.

This has only caused a few trips to Black Lion, as enough decent stuff drops so I can upgrade on the fly. Actually, right after my lvl 50 warrior’s gs reached the end of its usefulness I broke down and bought one, only to have an even better one drop for me before I had a chance to pick it up from the post.

Crafting’s good for mid-later levels when you have access to the nodes in the higher level areas, but I find it hard to keep up with my char’s levels. It’s much more fun to kill stuff than sit at a furnace making bronze ingots.

The game’s fun for loners, too.
I go from doing my own thing to helping take down a boss someone’s called out and then back to my own thing constantly. There’s always little bands of guildies running around, and good on them, but I like to set my own pace.

Aside from that and doing pvp/WvW(which I avoid like the plague), I agree with the op, especially the tip on leveling more than one character.
I have a ranger, warrior, and guardian between lvl50 and 62 and still can’t figure out which is my main. I guess it’s whichever I’m playing at the moment; they’re all fun. Plus, it’s nice when that sweet heavy armor drops for the ranger and you’re able to throw it on your warrior right away.

Help me pick a class.

If one and only one, based on what you said you’d prefer warrior hands down.

They can jump in and go toe-to-toe, hang back with ranged attacks, and support others with various banners. All in the same fight.

Q to those asking for more solo-friendly game

I think they struck the perfect balance, at least in the low-mid level areas.
I’m a guildless loner because I like going at my own slow pace without holding anyone back, but when I come across someone in a tough fight or somebody asks for help on map-chat I’m more than happy to lend a hand and then be on my way after the baddies are crushed.

I DO wish they had an “LFG” chat channel, though. The dungeon-crawlers tend to spam the map-chat something fierce.

However they get it, I’d prefer not to see it.
Being able to disable it on the minimap, like we can now with other things, would be great.
