Before this gets merged you all need to realize the expansion the actual expansion is $50. Yes if your a brand new player you get base game to. Even if anet removed the free base game for new players it would still be $50. Please understand the ONLY thing anet did was be generous to new players which will also get new players in the game for us. This is good for everyone in every way. If you just bought the game 4 days ago or whatever so what, you have months to play before it comes out, go have fun with this game instead of complaining.

From a player who finally makes sense.

“Please understand the ONLY thing anet did was be generous to new players which will also get new players in the game for us. "

He means they don’t pay anything for the core game. Veteran players STILL PAY $50 (shut up with you’re 49.99 stuff, no one cares that were paying 1 penny less than 50. The trick is to make it look like $40 range not $50, so it’s still $50 due to taxes), and I pre-purchased that game… I have money to throw, but most of my friends don’t and they don’t like the idea that veteran players don’t get any character slots if they purchase the expansion.

I don’t care about player input, this is for a dev to look at as they merge the thread and when they read merged posts.

About Future Living worlds.

Yes, I know I’m jumping a quite ahead of the game, but what will living world 3 fully entail?

I ask this because the expected time of completion of the expansion story will be short for most experienced players. Will there be changes to how a player can achieve things within the new living world.

By playing LW2 and connecting some of the conversations, I can expect a possibility of what LW3+ can potentially hold. I felt confident about my prediction of lions arch attack, just by looking at the unactivated Asura Gates which are now the current ones.

Firstly, will story journal achievements be retired?
No; I’m not stating that story Journal should be removed, this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/lwd/What-is-our-little-gang-called perfectly shows why they should be kept.
Story journal achievements were less entertaining to obtain, they felt as if they were a job since you HAD to complete them all to get the BIG reward, which was actually not great (Prefer the cosmetic rewards than the Non-80-Stats Sinister ring for level 80s)
Possible solution: Return the time limted achievements with a minimal count for the big reward
These were a lot of fun obtain, and if you were to fail one during the specific event, you knew you had to time out for a bit after the event ended. That sense of repetitiveness was better than sighing and going to character select so you can redo the pointless things (except for the one instance with the redo motes) just to get to the one achievement.
The time limit on the living world tab allowed people to feel some sort of adrenaline when trying to complete them.

Why do i request Larger group achievements rather than a party sized set of achievements?

Guild wars IS an MMORPG, and these achievements made me feel isolated from the community
*The Journal achievements made me feel isolated from the community

Progression:
Now If the story journal had dialog and some combat (I found all of the combat in the journal to be bland.) that would be fine. I was happy with the instances in LW1 where you would complete the instance for a onetime reward.

A lot of people preferred obtaining the story information within groups, whilst fighting the twisted marionette, or when fighting scarlet. The events provided more cooperation, and proper difficulty to obtaining common rewards (Where the Silverwates Chest train is just a rapid way the game generates money, where Frostgorge and Queensdale were more difficult to complete full rotations but nerfed for economic reasons.)

The main question is: Will developers consider returning partial amounts of the old structure of living world, but keep some of their current structure for newer players to learn the story?

Overheating GPU

“This looks like some software bug in GW2 :/”

Nope. Even if GW2 used 100% of your GPU’s resources and pegged the processor at 100% – it still shouldn’t overheat. Personally, I would replace the thermal grease on your graphics card processor.

You’re Ignoring the fact they’ve stated other games run the GPU at cool. Guild wars should not be using more GPU resources than Witcher on Ultra as stated by the OP. I’m not assuming you said this, but If the processor maxes out, the GPU will not take the rest of the load, they both have individual properties, while the CPU focuses on rendering files while the GPU processes its memory to display graphics.

Edit: This is more something a dev should respond to, the topic is getting derailed. The main question is that GW2 should not be using all the resources.

Note: Crossfire regardless of space will always heat up faster than single GPU.

Now noticing you have a 280X crossfire, AMD is still adjusting the video cards to work in crossfire mode sufficiently. If you haven’t done so, I would recommend updating your drivers into the 15.4BETA Drives on the AMD site. Using old drivers with a new SERIES or GENERATION of video cards can cause them to use more resources than needed which may be your case.

Recommended Action with the Hardware: Close browsers that use hardware acceleration and NPAPI software when using. AMD is at fault for this one, When hardware accelerated browsers are on, AMD tends to split it’s crossfire resources which is not good causing drivers to crash.

Ensure you’ve reset any voltage settings in your mother board if you’ve changed them from a previous videocard, and readjust them to function in crossfire.

Guild wars suggested specs only allow for the game to be Playable at a minimum of 30 fps on recommended settings. (shouldn’t be a problem there)

I suggest playing in Full screen rather than window full screen, it will set some programs to Idle and prevent resources from pooling away.

I have a crossfire build 7870’s and they function perfectly (while being awfully close to each other). They don’t run at full and manage to run the game smoothly.

Edit: They hit a Max of 45C.

The 280x is actually a 7970 re-badged. Its not new, its going on 3 years old now and soon going to be retired in the AMD drivers as it is (when they drop the 7000 series, the 260x, 270/270x, and 280/280x are all going by-by for support since they are all recycled 7000 series hardware). so no, AMD is not ‘still’ working on Crossfire for GCN 1.0 cards.

This is a hardware issue, sure it could be a voltage issue but since voltages are pretty regulated its probably more a thermal paste issue.

as long as the OP is on 14.12 drivers, upgrading drivers at this point (even to Beta) wont make much of a difference since all optimizations are only being done to GCN 1.1+ cards in preparation for the 300 series which launches very soon.

I mistakenly confused it for the R9, amd having various generations, but GCN 1.0 still gets minor tweaks in crossfire from any 1.2 GCN updates since they never fixed common issues. (While the drivers improve 1.2 more significantly.) It’s hard to a assume cooling since he did state other games make his GPU run cool. Guild wars shouldn’t work the GPU that hard since it relies more on the processor, and having his shaders off (stated he’s on lowest settings) I don’t even think other games should run as well. There were problems were certain videocard with old drivers (past 14.12) make games use a High load, like FTL on HD7860’s not working will with 14.12 but the latest had resolved that issue for it still. As long as it’s still supported, they still patch things up with the mess crossfire is now.

When I played PvP on my account, my statistics for my guardian have not been implemented. The leaderboards do not seem to update from the stats on my thief. To experiment, i played a game on my thief and still no update as well. The last update had happened in march.

Bug - Stacking Items [merged]

When you unstack an item the object is simply labeled account bound,

http://puu.sh/gJWmp/a9ce38058e.jpg

It’ll create a new item that is labeled “Account bound on Acquire”, which is normally displayed like this in the store or in banks.

http://puu.sh/gJWKg/84cd15a543.jpg

Once the item is unstacked, it cannot be stacked once again. This process is not reversible by placing items in bank.
