Well, I’ll be darned. I took a look in the 3d app settings and yes, everything was set to low quality. Put everything back where it should be and everything’s fine. Looks like it was just my own absent-mindedness >.>

Thanks for the help!

Just asked around in-game, no one seems to be having the same issue. I’ve tried changing all the various graphics options one-by-one, and then putting them all back on the highest setting possible, but everything still looks really bad.

I last updated my drivers yesterday while I was doing some maintenance on my computer (mainly trying to get Catalyst Control Center working). In the process I completely uninstalled everything related to my graphics cards (including going into safemode and using driversweeper), and then reinstalled it all, straight from the AMD website.

I logged in today to find my normally beautiful GW2 experience to look like utter kitten. Low-res clothing, faces, hair, everything – despite my graphics settings having not changed (and, they are all set as high as possible). One week ago, the last time I logged in, everything was fine. Then there was a patch, and now the game looks really bad, and adjusting my graphics settings does nothing but make it worse (since they were already at the highest settings possible).

Screenshot included – though, I don’t have a “before” version. I can tell you it looked way better than this crap.

This is quite frustrating.

Specs:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 3.33GHz
RAM: 8BG DDR3 Dual Channel, 1600MHz
GPU: 2xATI Radeon HD 5900 (crossfired)
Motherboard: ASUS P6T7 WS SuperComputer Motherboard

I have all the latest drivers and updates for everything.

Lost everything in the last hour since login servers crashed

Server: Yak’s Bend
Zone: Ascalonian Catacombs
Toon: Greypoint

Client crashed when I exited the instance. Lost all boss rewards, loot, silver, xp, and time. Essentially, the entire dungeon didn’t happen.

Completed AC Explore. Booted on instance exit. Lost all rewards.

I lost all my Ascalonian tears, all the silver I’d spent on repairs (and had received for completing the dungeon, two-thirds of a level (56-57), all of the loot and all the achievements. Other people lost everything as well; including xp and loot boosters they’d used during the dungeon (but now had none of the xp or loot). Lower-levels lost up to a level and a half. There are some very frustrated people out there right now.

This was my complete dungeon run through, and I was having a great time up until the game decided that the last few hours didn’t happen. Now I really don’t want to invest long periods of time in this game; this isn’t the first time I’ve been booted and lost things, and this game just doesn’t seem stable enough to be confident I won’t lose things.

Myself and a group of friends just completed AC exploreable, and received the awards. Upon exiting the instance, I found myself with none of the items from the entire dungeon (including rewards from boss fights in the dungeon), none of the silver, and none of the experience points. I also discovered, upon loitering around the entrance to AC, that I was not the only one. While my party members had not experienced my loss, others who had just completed AC story or explore also found themselves with nothing. They had experienced the same issue; client crash on instance exit, relog to find the past few hours erased.

This is extremely displeasing.

Best thing that happened to me, I was wandering around in this forest in Lornar’s Pass, looking for a couple of random questing buddies I’d run into in a nearby cave. I had gotten turned around when we exited the cave and they went one way and I went the other, so I was kind of moving around randomly looking for them, but not really going anywhere. After about ten seconds of this, my character suddenly said “Where am I?”. I was acting like I was lost (because I kinda was), so my character started to act like he was lost.

I haven’t been able to reproduce the event (moving around erratically, or going back and forth over and over again, or spinning in circles), so I don’t really know what it was that I was doing… but it was still pretty cool
