These accusations toward the guild as a whole are infuriating. I happen to be in RUIN and have heard time and time again the commanders on TS tell us that it’s not okay to hide in a keep and mesmer portal in to capture. We’re good enough to do it the right way and that’s always our intention.

I appreciate the video which did a great job showing that all the walls were in good shape…unfortunately, whether a hack was or was not used, that video had no way to show that a gate or wall was not fully repaired after the fact. I have absolutely no problem believing that someone did something inappropriate so I’m not calling anyone a liar, but the video and screenshots prove absolutely nothing.

More to the point of the problem is the accusation that RUIN intentionally misused a feature of the game to attain unfair advantage. My argument against the fact that anyone knowingly did such a thing is that time and again I have found myself beating on a gate when a wall has already been downed by a trebuchet at another area of the keep or tower. Some keeps are very large, and so when a portal opens up right under my feet I’m going to take it as opposed to running all the way around to search for a broken wall. Using portals to get inside keeps in this manner is perfectly acceptable.

The sad truth here is that you were robbed of a great opportunity to hold a keep. Even though I was not in that borderlands or a part of the fight I am sorry that this happened to you. But I think it shows a serious lack of tact and class to come to the forums slinging accusations that good people and honest gamers did this intentionally.

I have only ever heard and seen honorable play from my guild. Admittedly, I’m on the fence about whether spawn camping is honorable, but truth be told, if my front gate is being camped I know of at least 2 other ways out to avoid the siege. But exploits are absolutely not tolerated, we despise that behavior as much as the rest of you.

Lastly, the original thread regarding this situation was deleted for it’s obvious inflammatory nature. Yet the same people who were silenced there for that behavior are here again raising the issue. Not that I think this thread is particularly productive anyway, but it would be a shame if this thread were also deleted because certain individuals cannot follow the proper protocols for dealing with these types of situations.

I’m currently keeping stats on my mystic salvage kits – I made 3 (750 total charges) – and so far after about 150 uses I’m seeing a solid 10% rare materials (not the 25% advertised). Of course statistically a larger sample is better, and I’ll continue keeping track, but I’d be interested to see Anet look into this and make sure their back-end numbers are correct. Anyone else keeping track that can add to my sample?
