All games reduce in price as time passes. If you buy a video game when it comes out it costs $60 dollars. If you wait a year or two you can usually get it for $10. This doesn’t mean the people who bought the game when it first came out deserve a refund it’s just the way the economics work.

Succeeding should be better than failing

I have been playing guild wars for a couple of months now and have enjoyed the game however the main Issue I have is that there are a couple of events in the game that we want to fail because the results of failure are better than success especially where failing the event is the only way to get a unique drop such as the All Seeing from Lyssa.

I have problems with this for two primary reasons. The first is we are supposedly the heroes of the story and it doesn’t make much sense for use to want the risen to win an event. The second is the tension it creates between players who want the event to fail so they can go for the better rewards from the failure chain and those who are doing the event naturally trying to succeed.

So my suggestion would be to have succeed an event be as least as rewarding as failing an event in all cases. For Lyssa Defense maybe after succeeding the Pact can use the momentum to go accomplish something that would give the same chest that is ordinarily only available when the defense fails. Another example would be the risen Juggernaut in Sparkfly Fen, perhaps after defeating the risen the players could still open the crypt to defeat the Juggernaut in a weakened state.

So in summary failing an event should never give better rewards than success and you should never need to fail an event to get access to unique loot.

Just my 2 cents on a way to improve the game in a way keeping with the GW2 philosophy as I understand it.
