That’s actually a very similar build to what I just build last Saturday! Same graphics card and processor, and I just got 16gb memory instead.
It should be fine I think. Mine runs GW2 on highest settings and nice and smoothly! It’ll still drop fps a lot during big boss events, but I’d imagine it still does the same even on the top end cards!
FPS drop is due to the processor having to cope with more objects in one place at a time, not the card from what I know.
GW2 is CPU heavy so upgrading your processor is more important than your GPU. Im running with:
CPU: Intel Core I5-4570 3.2GHz BOX HASWELL
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX660 2048MB DDR5/192bit (OverClock)
Motherboard: MSI B85M-G43 Intel B85 LGA 1150 mATX
RAM: 8 gb 1866MHz
With that setup I can play GW2 on max settings with a steady 50-60 fps
This PC is 2 years old already so considering you’re getting a slightly better CPU and plan to get a better GPU then you will have absolutly no problem playing this game on max settings.
Running “chkdsk” solved my problem.
