I’d love to join you but I’m in NA servers as well unfortunately haha, I’m from the SEA region though.

I’m looking for a small guild like that as well, feels really boring to login alone just to start the grind game for mastery experience.

Don’t really like huge guilds too much, I’d very much prefer a small and close-knitted guild.

Solo PvE: Weak compared to other classes?

Condi DD with Signet of Malice just melts everything in PvE (using asc Viper atm) w/o losing any HP. You can take on an army of thousands of Chak, Snipers, everything, pretty easilly~

Unfortunately our range condi dmg is pretty awful so some boss fights can be annoying; which adds more frustration to lack of 1200 range.

Wouldn’t SB with 2 and 4 solve range issues?

What runes/sigils/build/trinkets are you running with it? I’ve used Carrion gear in the past (years ago) and I can’t seem to find a good Daredevil condi-build.

Connectivity Issue

I recently changed to a fiber optic cable connection and my ping skyrocketed.

It used to hover between 200-250 ms which was pretty acceptable since I’m playing from Singapore, but it jumped to 600+ after changing to my new internet plan – which makes no sense considering a fiber optic cable connection should actually make it faster.

It takes 5-10s for the visuals of my equipment change to show up, and it takes 1-2s for any skills or commands to take effect, which can be very annoying when you need to dodge at the right timings.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue or found a solution to it?

I’m using Starhub, if any Singaporean players are interested.

I don’t intend to re-roll another class just for sPvP.

You know every toon is boosted to 80 with every skills unlocked in spvp right?

Yup, but I’m just too unfamiliar with the skills of other classes at this point and I do want to play PvE on those characters as well. I’ll give them a shot eventually, there’s no rush for it.

I believe they replace swear words with kitten automatically. I don’t intend to re-roll another class just for sPvP, though I am levelling a Necromancer on the side because I love their hybrid condition damage build.

So for Stronghold, essentially you’d want to secure objectives than go for kills? (for a beginner at least)

Thank you to all of you who gave me help and suggestions, I’ll try to ‘git gud’.

Well I know I’ll figure out eventually, it just doesn’t feel right to me to do it at the expense of ruining it for 4 other players. Unless they’re real-life friends, then I have no qualms hahaha.

A little bit about myself, I’m a PvE player that quit a few years back (during the time ArenaNet introduced the ascended item-gating thing) and recently came back and bought HoT because it seemed interesting, both the game-play and story.

And I’m lost for sPvP. Completely lost. There’s just so little information I have no idea what to do at all.

I queued and played 2 games where my team lost horribly. (Stronghold mode, I believe, couldn’t access Conquest mode till level 10) The sticky here doesn’t mention it, and googling didn’t yield any decent results either, just information from the wiki. Perhaps it didn’t help that the only class I’ve had experience on was a Thief… which is supposedly really useless in sPvP (or so they claim in the Thief forums, though I have no idea how the situation actually is)

There’s also no way that I can pop into a map just to get a feel of where everything is and what I’m supposed to do. I can play against AIs for games like LoL or Dota to try stuff out without being a burden but I can’t do it here; my team is playing 4v5 simply because I’m still trying to figure things out.

Is it just me?

How many here are playing less? And why?

I don’t enjoy grinding dungeons, this explains why my FotM level is only at 2, and it’s near impossible to find a party willing to do it at level 2.

I cycle through the first instance till I reach the Volcanic Fractal, then I proceed to kill off all the Grawl and leave the instance – rinse and repeat. I’m forced to do stupid stuff like this because getting ONE Vial of Condensed Mists Essence is so difficult. My luck has always been terrible, and having to deal with a RNG is just a big kitten you from Guild Wars 2 to my face.

At the very least put it in the Dungeon Store where I can purchase it with some Fractal Relics, this way people with horrible luck like me can get it. For my other materials, I can explore and slowly earn money to buy it, but for this Vial of Condensed Mists Essence I have to rely on some kitten RNG to get it.

In short, I don’t want to grind the same 9 instances continuously just to get the looks of an Endless Quiver. I want to slowly enjoy doing Dungeon Story and Explorable modes and still get respectable rewards.

Then again, introducing the Ascended Gear was a horrible idea to begin with.

I don’t regret spending money on this game – I enjoyed leveling to 80, exploring the different areas, and finally getting my Exotics. But if Lost Shores is any indication of what’s to come, then I’m sad to say I won’t be playing this anymore.

Right now, the ONLY reason I would log-on is to play with my friends, and nothing else.

Here’s my feedback:

Ascended Gear: I had a glimpse of what I believe to be an Endless Quiver, and it looked amazing. That was a step in the right direction for looks, but not for stats. I didn’t buy this game for a gear grind and I will quit if this continues.

Fractals of the Mist: It was amazing, I tried it once over the weekend and I had a blast.

However, like the Ascended Gear, you are dividing players into tiers – even my guild mates didn’t want to party me because I was only at level 2 for the dungeon.

What I think would improve it in the story aspect is for it to encompass memories of prominent characters – we would be delving into them, so to speak. Considering the Mists constitutes the fabrics of time and space, it’s plausible. For example:

How did Faolain fall into the Nightmare?
How was Destiny’s Edge formed?
Destiny’s Edge before they fought Kralkatorrik.
Logan’s younger years.

I know some if these situations were described in a novel but wouldn’t be great if you could create this scenes in the game? These are just a few examples but each of them have great potential to give an story aspect to Fractals of the Mists.

Lost Shores Event: The bugged NPCs were fine, at least ArenaNet openly addressed the issues. The new map was rather bland in my opinion, there wasn’t really anything worth exploring.

The one-time event was a huge blow to international players. I have work the following Monday and having to wake up at 4 a.m to partake in the event wasn’t feasible.

Balancing: I still see crazy-high damage from Warriors, their critical damage is insane. Condition Damage builds for Thieves are still horrible compared to the mainstream builds – I hope that gets balanced in the near future.

In short, there’s good and bad.

The good was somewhat decent, with several new content… but the bad has some serious repercussions that could destroy the game altogether.
