Thanks everyone for the replies, really eased our worries. We’ll continue to use it, it’s really entertaining to just mind-numbingly follow the overlay while watching something on Netflix.

Happy gaming!

GW2 Navi potential banning?

An overlay, “GW2 Navi”, has really caught me and my wife’s attention, so we started to use it – renewing our enjoyment out of world completion due to it’s fun little function of giving a guided tour of Tyria.

But a thought came up, can we get banned for using this? We didn’t think so because it’s merely an overlay like Overwolf for example, but before we continue to use it, I wanted to get a reply from a mod for 100% certainty if possible.

Just a yes or no would be fantastic from someone an Anet. We love GW2 and we put a lot of time/money into our accounts, and it would be terrible to loose them over something so simple.

The website to obtain GW2Navi is : http://forum.renaka.com/topic/5546166/1/

Thanks.

New PC, Terrible FPS

This isn’t an issue with your PC. It’s GW2’s horrible optimization. I have the exact same specs, except a GTX 1080, and I get terrible FPS in events and cities as well.

It’s been a strongly desired feature that anet put in DX11 at least so it would be more GPU reliant rather than CPU, but they have yet to do anything about it.

So all those parts you have for your new PC? Practically useless in this game. Anyone who says “I get 60 FPS in populated areas and events on high” is a complete liar. =\ Just look it up a little bit on these forums, you’ll see.

I wish I knew how to get gold.

As a casual player.

I’m not complaining, I just wish I knew, and it’s kind of one of the reasons I only play off and on now.

I REALLY love this game, but the goal of getting to a legendary weapon ( for which I need gold to get the precurser ) is just way out of reach for someone who only plays like maybe 2ish hours a day.. I think?

Again, not complaing, I would love some advice though.

I’ve read guides, which suggest to grind events, but it seems like it’s way too populated to do that in the good event areas, so the gold flow seems to be really slow..

Another guide said to grind crafting mats and put it on the AH, which I did.. but I guess I was doing that wrong, as I only got like 5 gold for 2 days of work. Seems kind of low.

Then I looked at another guide that told me to make alternate characters and play through the story and 100% the entire world map over and over, which also is a bit out of my reach. I only have 1 level 80 character and he is at 76% completetion, and I thought I was pretty dedicated to be even that far.

So, my question to you guys is just that, do I just need to be more dedicated and spend hours upon hours to obtain gold to get a precursor, or is there a better way?

Thanks. :o

I’m not saying anything is wrong with gw2lfg.com, in fact it’s a brilliant idea.

What I’m saying is that it’s kind of sad that it even exsists as Anet should have had this sort of system in the game already – obviously people are wanting it as a fan actually CREATED a site for it and many, many people use it.

I know they are implementing a tool already but I hope it’s a good one as if it’s just, “Click here to put up a comment that says your looking for a group”, it’s gonna be a failure.

That’s a bad response, plenty of reasons to do dungeons; including components for legendaries.

Got to run them over and over.

And also, if that were true, why would that website exsist? Your opinion is just wrong. “People just don’t want to run them!” , worst excuse I’ve heard yet.

Sorry.

So..

Why is this even a debate to begin with if I can party with people cross server anyways to do a dungeon?

Do people have a problem with convenience? The arguement of, “it ruins the game and community” is nill due to the fact that people can jump in and out of any server through guesting anyways.

Why is this an issue? Why are people so ignorant towards a process that would only save them time and lower frustrations for people who don’t have 4+ hours a day to play the game?

It’s not like their would be a queue time because of the lack of a holy trinity.

… So what’s the deal?

It’s also VERY sad that a website like this even exsists;
http://www.gw2lfg.com/

inb4 “too hard to make friends” or “join a guild”.
I have 8 guilds and I usually have to go into all of them just to ask for people to run a dungeon, and then usually I have to pick a random up anyways.

This method of group finding is just dumb.. Very, very old school, time consuming and dumb. It’s like using a terrible video card in a computer with amazing compenents. Just why do it?
