I just came back after about a year and a half of not playing. I was never really in to anything but WvWvW where I spent nearly all of my play time (hate zone level scaling never looked back at PvE at all after my Elementalist hit 80 and have no others).
What I do remember from Conquest games was that I could change out skills/gear/gems/whatever without spending any money and I could take a lvl 1 or 2 class in and be boosted up to 80 with max gear to try them out.
That seems to be completely gone. I can’t change anything and I have to buy some kind of weapon to try it out and my “elite specializations” are gated behind hero points or whatever they called now? I bought HoT when I came back yesterday but see nothing at all for PvP in it and am wondering if I should have? Am I missing something?
Login in 2 hours. The weekly winner is determined Friday night usually. Your server has the biggest zerg for the longest period of time and so has been winning the last 2 weeks as a result.
There will be a queue a mile long for a couple hours then it will taper off. I’m on Blackgate, we don’t have the numbers any more (I’ve heard it’s since a lot of us left for JQ) and our people log off as your zergs grow stronger as it gets later (EST here).
Still, there are usually good big long fights on reset. Sometimes there are during the week as well, seems to be semi-random with preference to the evening hours obviously. There are good fights to be had (big groups vs big groups), but the lag makes a lot of people quit and give up and they’ve lowered the map queues as well.
They should remove stability. Stability carry bad stupid players. One static field should stop whole blob.

1.) This is entirely about ANET being kitteny that they’re losing sales to 3rd parties because their prices are too high and they rip people off on the exchanges on both sides.
2.) This change benefits no one but ANET.
3.) Prices are literally 10x times higher now on the TP than they were last time I quit the game (over a year maybe 2). I expect that this will have absolutely 0 effect on lowering prices.
4.) As stated by others in this thread there multiple ways around this for the black market while it hassles “innocents”.
5.) ANET’s pro arguments are lame in the extreme and reminiscent of Comcast switching from unlimited downloads to data caps because “most people won’t be effected”.
There are many other things that DEVs could and should be spending OUR (paid for) time on – this IS NOT IT (apparently contractions are filtered? Seriously?).
There was definitely skill lag on JQ this evening. It only happens when you get into blobby situations. Two server blobs going at it would give you 1-2 sec skill lag. When you have 3 server blobs in close vicinity, you would start getting 5-10 second skill lag. If people didn’t experience it, it’s because they weren’t near the blobs.
The lag persists no matter where you are if you’re on the same map. I rage logged last night because of this kitten on BG and some of the comments on this page are from people who were in TS.
Since I just came back a week ago from 2 years out of game I might just leave again. I only play GW2 for WvWvW and nothing else so if this part of the game is broken there is no reason to stick around for an expansion or anything else.
Blackgate here. I just came back after nearly 2 years out of game – to find it the same; WvWvW is the best and only interesting part of GW2 it’s sad to see it in the same state I left it in (changes seem to be 10x currency inflation matched by rank inflation and 1 horrible PvE map that is inexplicably in the WvWvW queue).
This problem existed when I left and I was hoping that it had been fixed by now. Popular opinion on BG TS and elsewhere seems to be that it had been and has made a comeback to how it was in Beta, aka unplayable (I didn’t play Beta so I don’t know, I got the game on release day).
The matches are fun until you get more than about 20 v 20 and the really big 3 way fights of 50 v 50 v 50 or so are a joke since no one can do anything. Please fix it. Your CS department needs some serious house cleaning as well. Having someone I contact via email say someone will contact me in game and then a week later no one has followed up in any way is unacceptable and doesn’t lubricate wallets.
I found the bug. I know that people won’t believe me but the Bazaar of the Four Winds patch apparently turned all of my orichalum tools in to copper ones. I have gone through stacks of each and refreshed with ori tools and somehow they were copper ones too.
I just deleted all of the tools out of all 3 slots and put ori tools back in and they’re all working as normal again. I have no idea how this happens.
EDIT: I also noticed that it turned some ori harvesting tools in my inventory in to copper ones.
This still broken. Patch today did nothing to fix it. I’ve also submitted multiple bug reports with screenshots without even a form letter reply to them… This is a game breaking bug which apparently affects a minority of players.
I’m ele only, with staff, I get a fair amount of bags but you have to learn good timing and start precasting meteor shower and know when/where to use your flameburst and ground fire (forgot the name) because casting times can cost you tags. Best is using an AoE on a zerg that is moving in a line under you like moving past a keep wall so you tag multiple guys running through it. Also my racial AoE of weakness is amazing for this too since it seems to count anyone touching it although it has as long cd.
Just harvested all of the nodes just south of SM all 100% failure rate on plants and ores but the trees work.
Trees seem to be unaffected it’s only plants and ores.
It seems to be a total inversion. It used to be maybe a 5% failure rate now its a 5% success rate.
Same for ores… I’ve hit multiple nodes of both now and got 1 sugar pumpking out of maybe 20 strikes
Oh, out of combat for all.
Still broken after hot fix. 100% failure rate on harvesting in EB on 7 or so nodes. (3 scallions next to wild creek I know for sure, still ori tools).
Good video. Just curious why you chose the + to all stats stuff. I play pretty much exclusively wvwvw and solo, not with a guild at all and generally follow the zerg although I go take camps and whatnot solo sometimes so my playstyle is not even close to small group ganking but I have noticed that with all my survivability I have no chance against a thief 1v1 because they can take half my nearly 20k health pool in one hit (and also stealth/unstealth/stealth/unstealth a million times).
This is my build, I have only ever played staff since release (although I did take a 6 mos break from the game). What do you think?
I was also kind of surprised that your bleeds tick only between 10-20 damage less than mine and I have 3x as much condition damage.
EDIT: I have found that the 25% swiftness persists even while in combat (still a slow down combat debuff but not nearly as bad as without it) so that might be of potential help to keeping your speed up; I have found it invaluable and I’m often either the last man standing or one of the ones that escapes from the zerg I’m in getting crushed.

Mining and harvesting around Eternal Battlegrounds in WvWvW and a few nodes on the cursed shore near gavewhatever waypoint that sells karma rebreathers. Using orachulum tools of both types, not sure exactly which nodes exactly, I know one was black crocus, a lotus, some mithril and platinum ores. I was getting like 3 or 4 ruined ores and either 1 real ore or none at all. I didn’t do a lot just enough to notice something was wrong (both in and out of combat).
Using exclusively orachalum (sp) tools.. sometimes in combat sometimes not. I’ve never seen it fail so much as I have today; there is a HUGE noticeable difference.
EDIT: As I have today being exclusively after the patch. I was on both before and after.
Looks like it is. There are vendors all over the new area for the new item chests that all take crafting mats including the old ones. Most mats are already 2x in price some more so. Looks like they’re trying to remove things from the game and make it more expensive to craft.
It’s at LEAST 50% ruined items now on EVERYTHING.
All tray/feast etc recipies are made in forge. You could check wiki to get help matter of seconds – but since this is interwebs….

Thanks for this, I spent at least an hour with Google trying to verify this information and couldn’t find jack kitten other than this post. The official wiki is shameful. But you’re right, these are the ingredients and the order they’re added seems to matter (coins first worked for me).
Still completely broken for me. The investigation was broken too and removing and picking up a new kit got me through that where I could actually inspect the people but Vorrk is broken. I can’t finish him and I’m stuck on 4/5 of the suspects.
