Could I get an invite, please? Would love to get coordinated with the Tequatl & Wurm fights.

Events aren't giving rewards.

I’ve had this problem twice in the past week or so, both times on my elementalist, and both times on Tequatl (lately I’ve just been leaving my elementalist camped in Sparkfly Fen to do Tequatl when he comes up). I keep track of which world bosses I do each day, so there’s no confusion about whether or not I’ve already done a certain boss, and twice in the past week there has been no big chest or private chest on Tequatl. No problems on other bosses so far, just Tequatl (I’m on Jade Quarry).

POLL: Would you like level cap to be raised?

NO

I do not want the level cap to increase. I’m a big fan of the idea of horizontal progression and I would love it if GW2 adhered to that model.

When I look at the amount of the world map that is currently available, which seems to be 50% or less, however, I wonder whether a level cap of 80 is what the devs really have in mind. Do we want all of the remaining areas to be level 80? I would be fine with that, because I would be happy with new areas providing new weapon and armor skins and whatnot. I played GW1 for a while and I would like to believe that horizontal progression is a sustainable model because I really disliked the endless WoW treadmill, but I’m not sure that’s sustainable in the current MMO market.

Given the size of the currently inaccessible world map, I can see how successive new level caps of 90 and 100 could easily be accommodated by the amount of space we have yet to expand into, and that doesn’t even take into consideration Elona and Cantha, or other parts of Tyria we haven’t seen before.

My main concern about increasing the level cap is that it might make Tyria as we currently know somewhat irrelevant. I know the devs are trying to keep the lower level areas relevant, but I think that task would only get harder if there were level 90 or 100 areas where everybody was spending all their time.

I like the idea of completing dive challenges for a daily or a monthly.

Silvari immune to Zhaitan?

I started playing my first sylvari character today. I was wandering around in Slieve’s Inlet, the swampy area infested with risen in the southeast corner of the Caledon Forest map. There is a renown heart in that area in which you’re asked to assist Valliant Caillech with the risen. There are a bunch of dead sylvari wardens scattered around the swamps. When you revive them as part of your renown heart responsibilities, sometimes their bodies just disappear; other times, they become risen grubs.

It does seem like sylvari themselves have some kind of resistance to Zhaitan’s influence and do not become zombified as risen sylvari, but I suspect the risen grubs derive from fallen sylvari. It makes a certain kind of sense. Sylvari are made of…what…bark, wood, flower parts? We have bugs living in our skin! Even if our memories return to the dream, risen grubs arise from the compost piles we leave behind when we die.
