(forgive me if this is the wrong thread, however i believe this is the closest to what i have to say is related)

Hail,

I would like to start by saying i am enthralled with GW2, unfortunately my time with original GW was light as my college years began shortly after. I’ve read the books, Sea of Sorrows is my favorite, the lore to the game has grown to something spectacular. The NPC characters your teams develop are intriguing, complex and diverse. The world is absolutely beautiful. I can go on but this is for in-game content development, with that there only ONE thing that seems to pull me out of the immersion of the game.

I would like the option to be able to disable the mini-map, and/or, turn the mini-map into a compass that will rotate NSEW. The compass would not require any waypoint information, or hint to nearby events, just a basic working compass. I feel that i tend to look at the mini-map far too often which take away from the stunning world which has been created. Many may say this will make the game more difficult, however in the long run players will get to know the world more intimately. I have been playing MMORPGs for quite some time (my first being EQ, about a month prior to their Scars of Velious release)and i can honestly say any MMO i have played after that does not include a full-time mini-map has brought much more enjoyment when exploring, whereas all other that have one constantly turned on i do not recall much of what the areas in their worlds actually look like. I can run through looking at the mini-map without looking at the actual world itself.

I know many have elaborate ideas for designs, quests, skill balances, world content, etc.
I hope when reviewing this post you understand where i am coming from as i am attempting to keep this short and to the point.

Thank you for your time and consideration

Excellent, i hope more people start to get involved in something like this; adding links to builds/videos as well. I’m currently researching this myself. When i get more solid information I will surely post it here first
