Should birthdays be by account?

I would not agree with removing the birthday gifts for characters. If, however, the development team wants to add an account birthday present in addition, that would be a nice way to celebrate how long someone has been playing the game.

Guild Calendars w/sync feature

Hello dev team,

My guild members were having a discussion in guild chat today about how difficult it is to schedule events that work within everyone’s daily life schedules (work/family/other). We came up with an idea that the developers of Guild Wars 2 may want to incorporate at some future point and shouldn’t cost a lot to add this feature to the game.

We decided it would be easy if the guild (G) panel included a tab that had a calendar with scheduled events that were editable by the guild officers so everyone can see which events are going on and can RSVP to them or sync the guild calendar to their Gmail calendar so they can receive reminders for guild missions and other things. It would also be nice to have a personal calendar for your account that shows all the events for all 5 guilds that you are in (if in max number of guilds).

This would increase participation in the game and keep more players online and solve the issue where many people are saying they are bored with Guild Wars and don’t feel like they can participate effectively because they don’t know when things are and don’t have time to keep track. It can cause people to quit the game and become less involved in the community. This feature alone would add revenue to the game because if it works as intended, more players would be online and therefore may buy from the gem store. I would appreciate a response from one of the developers to confirm that they have seen this and possibly give feedback on what you think.

Thank you.
-Your friendly average Guild Wars 2 player and fan

Well www or PVP would just spill over into a little bit of pve, but not too much.

I believe that what has been causing issues in WvW for a long time is that you are punished for death by having to run all the way back across the map when you die to join back into the fight. This sometimes gets boring to watch your character run all the time. Could they just put the ability to build waypoints in any structure? Castles, keeps, towers, whatever it is, as long as it is a building you should be able to build a WP there if you hold it long enough. This would cause a huge change in how battles would be fought and also make it much more interesting.

The other question I had was why we cannot have more consequences in PVE for what happens in WVW. A crazy idea I had that I don’t think will work but sounds cool is if a server controls a majority of the Eternal Battlegrounds and fights all the way to the portals of the other server, but does not get killed by the NPC guards, but should in fact be able to travel to the Lions Arch (can’t leave, only invade Lions Arch) of another server and kill NPCs or wreck the Mystic Forge or something and then the server has to come together to spend resources to rebuild it. Just like how Fissure of Woe was cut off from people going into it occasionally in Guild Wars 1. Or it could be some other part of the map like Queensdale where an invasion force from another server can kill players and NPCs in there and players would have to res the NPCs. And everyone in that server playing would get a message like “Queensdale is under attack from the Darkhaven server. Come defend it!”

Abandon original Guild Wars?

Oh. Also original Guild Wars should be free-to-play. No cost upfront. No charge at all. It could help boost the numbers of players too that way.

Abandon original Guild Wars?

Guild Wars 2 is a great game. The original Guild Wars however could use a few touchups so that players that haven’t been able to play that game more thoroughly can access rewards and end-game content more easily. Right now if I wanted to play original Guild Wars there is a serious time investment because everything is so expensive in that game, plus they didn’t even update it to have a trading post. It would also be sort of neat if you could get credit for things you did in Guild Wars in Guild Wars 2. Like I’m just talking about changing the rewards for missions to include achievement points that you can still get in Guild Wars 2. Or something like that, just so that if someone wants to play original Guild Wars, it isn’t deserted because no one went back to play it. They could put a dodge roll in, or add whatever easiest tweaks they could add into that game to make it a little easier and more fun. They don’t need to add that much or put a lot of development into it. Just a little update is all I want. Right now it just feels like a dead game and it doesn’t have to be. Just some more connectivity between the old game and the new one would be nice. I know there is the Hall of Monuments but that has such minimal impact on Guild Wars 2.
