Wha…? What’s this I hear?
Doubt? Despair? Naysayers? Doomspeakers?
This… These are the cries of HERETICS! HERETICS I SAY!
Nab your pitchforks and torches lads!
Ugh, really… Look, some of us invest time into playing Warriors because of all sorts of reasons. Versatility perhaps? Maybe your an axe-wielding, walking tank barbarian at heart? As some have said this class isn’t for the feint of heart, exactly that, Warriors or Warrior archetypes in alot of games are somewhat destined to fail. That may be the case. BUT! We are Warriors, are we not? When doom and defeat rears its repugnant head, we stand ready to slam our armoured fists into it!
And I thought this section was for Warriors, not BABIES who’d rather kiss up to some tree-hugger and compare the two! Bah, psuedo-roleplay speech aside… If you’d rather go play a Ranger then do it already, then there’s less of you to cramp up text room and second-guess our investments that will, no doubt, sooner or later become worthwhile.
As one might think the shield implies defense and it is exemplary in this department. In terms of pure dps you will definitely lose out in burst with a shield in your off hand, but you make up for this being able to stay in the fight longer with a disrupting charge and an invulnerability which can mean the difference between life and death in a fight against a glass cannon.

This. I got an Axe/Shield build myself and I can safely say that my trusty metal board has kept me alive though the hariest of skirmishes and provided a stalwart defence though anything, you name it: Arrows, bullets, blasts of fire, Thieves and their butter knives… ANYTHING.
Something I’ve come to know when it comes to Shields. Trust in 5… Trust in 5.
That’s alot of insight into why they’re so bad…
No seriously, more info than that. Why are they bad, or in your words “the worst class in tPvP?…”
Surely there’s more it?
Seriously, I have never seen so many people complain about something in my life. The underwater combat in this game is kittening amazing, or could be with patches. Oh, that’s what they’re doing.
There is absolutely no reason not to have underwater combat in PvP/TPvP when (not if) it gets balanced. Sure, it need a lot of work to become balanced and require more strategy (here’s looking at you Thief class) but when it is actually decently balanced, it should go in.
If you had the exact same skills underwater as you do on land, bad players would still complain because it’s in a 4D environment. This isn’t Anets fault. This is a L2P issue and I personally don’t see how some people can be so bad in a 4D space, it’s pretty simple.
1v1 underwater combat, even in its current state of unbalance, is just as fun as combat is on land. It can take 30 seconds or 1 minute to kill someone like on land. Some players are so bad that they can’t kill a veteran mob underwater in PvE. This is because you are bad, not because underwater combat sUx0rs De nUtx0r$.
Raid on the Capricorn is an issue because there is a node underwater which everyone just zergs to. Is this stategy? No, obviously it isn’t. But if Anet was to make maps which have routes that go underwater, or have shortcuts underwater that would be an excellent addition for PvP and TPvP. Need that shortcut blocked off? Have an Engineer lay down his mine field in that crevice.
TL;DR
Stop complaining about underwater combat because it has the potential to require more skill than land combat.
Someone give this man a frikkin’ slice of cake and a pat on the back.
I think what most of you need is a good, decent, 100% go at sPvP. Honestly, I find sPvP exciting and so do alot of my guildmates, aside from the lack of local PvP matches, we manage to have a great time.
Teamwork, I’m sure you’re all aware of is needed in some aspect in sPvP, there is no I in “team”. Split up into smaller groups, communicate strategies. Heck it doesn’t have to be Sun Tzu’s teachings of strategy and calculation, just get it out there. All this waffling about with class unbalancing is just wasted time. Your time…
What is there really to complain about? You get full Trait Points, free weapons, armour and accessories PLUS runes and sigils for that extra edge and complain about “imbalance”. My advice? Stop running into enemy groups for gods sake.
I second this idea, a few guilds I’ve gotten myself into, entertained the idea of doing a local tournament with only the members of the guild participating. This was great I originally thought, but… No local PvP.
Kind of disheartening when you want to give your best mate a beating for his mockery of “cat people”… My axe sheds no blood of allies this day, tis sad.
Though are there really that many disruptive players in PvP? I admit, I haven’t got much time on structured PvP, at the most, I played about 10 games and those on my team and the opposing side haven’t had any sour moments. Again this is just my experience, what server are you connected to?
