I just got this problem today. I was able to play fine and nothing changed in my set-up (hardware or internet) and suddenly BOOM error code: 42:0:9001:4433
And since i play on Mac, the solution to create shortcut will probably create a whole new range of discomfort I cannot imagine yet.
I have posted in this thread because I too had all the problems that were attributed to the tgUpdate. My problems were solved (so try it!) but the TP is still as buggy as before. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. If it doesn’t then there is no chance it will work; restarting does solve it though (sometimes…).
I am in the process of testing some theories:
If the first opening of the TP is via right-clicking an item to sell, it will work.
If on pressing ‘O’ I don’t let the first window load (so I am not waiting for the yellow circle to disappear) and skip to a next pane (buying gems, selling items) it may break.
Generally I think that the TP gets stuck in loading some part and it will not continue anything before that is complete.
I will get back on these.
P.S. Just now I opened and could get the gemstore; the currency exchange locked, but I could sell and buy items.

Pressing ‘O’ gives me the window and the shop is loading and eventually even the bar at the top showing me the different panes in that window. The rest of it stays blank (just background). Other windows will not load at all. The only one that does is the last, showing me how much money I made last time I successfully opened the TP and sold items.

update: restarting my client seemed to work just now, so it’s really a gamble wether it works or not. What is different is that I went to the TP by right-clicking an item I wanted to sell. Restarting again to test some more.
updating the update: I’m officially clueless and have submitted some prayers and a ticket to the higher powers (#201601).
This is great communication and thanks to all of you for passing along these notes. I’m going to sum it up (and do feel free to correct me if I have any of this wrong):
Helgan — solved two of three: update issue and camera issue. Did not solve a sporadic issue with the Gem Store. I’m flagging this but wonder if you’ve been in touch with CS. If so, do you have any ticket numbers so I can peek at the ticket(s)?
I have not been in touch with CS since it wasn’t that important for me atm. I will keep my eye on it to figure out if it happens only in busy instances, certain times of the day, if it will fix itself if I wait or if I have to restart to get it fixed, things like that.
I have posted bug reports in game, but I don’t hink those count as tickets, do they?
This workaround helped with the tgUpdate.
The camera-issues have also been resolved.
The issue with the BLTC however is still present. Gem trading and auction doesn’t load, the first window (in game gem purchases) just loads the bar in the top of the window.
I have to add though, that I have had this problem a long time and it has come and gone erratically. I don’t know what triggers it.
I have always had this problem on and off. I assumed it was my connection being laggy and haven’t tried anything to confirm or deny that since it seems to solve itself on another start of the client.
Same here, since a day after winters day (!) update I have not been able to play normally. Careful adjusting of the camera with the mouse and then walking around with just the keyboard is the only viable way of getting around. (First time logging in after winters day did not give me this problem).
I have had this problem before, usually after disconnects and relogging without restarting. A restart of the client always fixed that, as has been said here before. Now that doesn’t work anymore.
EDIT: important addition to this is that the tgUpdate is called every time I start the client.
Sounds like a cool perspective.
Father of two (4 and 7 y.o.) and living in Europe, but that’s never been a problem for me (even 250 years ago in old Ascalon) playing with Americans. Probably have to transfer eventually if/when I join, but guesting could work aswell.
Other things: I’m a teacher and do not play very regularly, somehow real life keeps a tight hold on me…
