[game breaking]Bug that stops you from seeing most of the area around yourself.

a) It’s not a bug, it’s a design choice you disagree with; that’s a different thing.
b) It’s not “game breaking”; it’s a mild inconvenience.
c) It be nice if we could pick our own FOV eventually, but I’d prefer it if genuine bugs and stopping the bots were given priority.
Getting high 25-30 FPS with the settings shown on the image. It seems fairly robust with zone / situation. Not ideal ( I get more under Windows, with higher settings), but perfectly playable and good enough for me not to bother with Bootcamp.

It would help if you said at what settings & resolution you are running at.

Granted, a Cider port isn’t as good as a pure native one, but I’ll take the former now over the latter next year.
As for the water issues, that’s not unique to Cider. My native Mac client for the-game-that-must-not-be-named-for-fear-of-rousing-trolls also suffers near water compared to the Windows version.
DirectX is just better at some things than Open GL.
I don’t have one to test on, but the machine you describe appears to meet the stated minimum requirements. Given the low end graphics on that machine, I suspect that it would only run at low settings, with not particularly good frame rates.
So will it run at all? Probably.
Will it be as gorgeous and smooth as on a Windows machine with a dedicated graphics card? Probably not.
Does anyone know how to turn on the FPS display on OSX (not just via the game menu)?
i.e. The equivalent of running under Windows with -perf
I’m not experienced enough with messing around with Cider ports to work out how to add the command line option.
I’d just like to add my thanks. Makes life much more convenient.
“Let us know if you are seeing this under different circumstances.”
I got it when first logging in to the game after downloading.
The second log in seemed to work ok – will update if I find more information.

ATI radeon 4870 512MB, running at 2560×1600.
Similar frame rate to Windows, but at a much lower settings, so overall I’d say the Mac port was slower. I haven’t tested it properly yet, though, as camera control problems are inhibiting my ability to do anything useful.
Once fixed, I should be able to do a proper test.
First of all, thanks for introducing a Mac client.
However, currently I’m having the same problem as Haligator. The game is almost unplayable under OSX because I simply can’t see anything when the camera is either inside my character or in a top down view and spinning like crazy.
Any suggestions welcome.
