I’m also experiencing this new bug with the Action Camera. (Autoattacks using a held-down left-mouse button stop working immediately after activating another attack skill and never resume unless the player releases and re-holds LMB – after EVERY differing attack selection.) I’ve sent in an in-game /bug report as well. I’d really like to hear some feedback on this from support, even if it’s something they can’t currently reproduce.
This is still a problem and still has a huge negative impact on combat effectiveness as even a short period of time without attacks due to this bug can have a dramatic effect on many fights.
Additional information: instant ground targetting configuration appears to have no effect on this bug; when set to any of instant, fast, or normal, the autoattack “breaks” (e.g. does not autoattack any longer) once any other attack skill, toolbelt or otherwise, is used.
Do note that some classes’ autoattack is their highest DPS skill, such as primary-sword revenant.
When holding down the left mouse button to autoattack with Action Camera enabled, autoattacks stop being used once a different attack is activated, even when LMB remains held down.
Expected behavior (as it was prior to the LS3 update) was that by holding down LMB, autoattacks would always be used unless another attack skill was used (usually by spamming the other attack key while still holding down LMB), at which point the autoattacks would resume after using a second attack skill so long as LMB remained pressed.
To reiterate, my experience using standard mining picks (principally iron and mithril purchased from Rata Sum’s merchant next to the bank) indicates a nearly 100% chance of double-strikes on rich iron ore nodes. I cannot recall even one time where a mining pick required four mining cycles to deplete a rich iron node (though I do not deny the possibility it may have happened to me a very small number of times).
The Cosmic Mining Tool consistently takes me four cycles to exhaust rich iron vein nodes, tested over ~1000 units of iron ore gathered.
Using standard mithril mining picks, a rich iron vein is almost always exhaused within three mining cycles, tested over countless thousands of units of extracted iron ore.
A mining cycle typically contains three points in time where ore is added to my inventory. With standard picks, there are regular occurances where two sets of ore is added to my inventory at the same point in time.
I have not yet seen a single “double-strike” occur with the Cosmic Mining Tool, yet owners of other unlimited-use mining tools report that “double-strikes” are a common occurance for them.
The end result is that a 1000-gem (850 with a discount) mining tool takes 25% longer to extract ore from rich nodes than the standard consumable picks.
