Big difference from the GTX 660ti to the GTX 650 OC 2GB ddr5?

This is my parents desktop, I was looking for a cheap but still good card to run some of those recent games. I actually don“t need an high-end gpu.

HD 7770 OC 1gb
GTX 650 OC 2gb
Maybe HD 7850

If any of those can run the game at medium settings with stable FPS, I’ll probably get one.

I attached my mobo information.

What about the Radeon HD 7770 OC 1Gb DDR5 ?
I was checking “Tom’s Hardware: Test System And Graphics Hardware” article for gw2 and that board was well rated… even at high resolutions it had a great performance.

Will my mobo support it?

Not sure about the power supply, but the processor is a i7 @ 3.4Ghz. The desktop is not meant for games, but anyway I want a new graphics card. I think the HD 7770 is more than enough since it can run the game at decent and stable FPS in normal settings ;D

thank you for your time

Here’s the deal:

I have an ASUS CM 6650 Silent Desktop:
- i7 @ 3.4Ghz
- 6gb RAM
- 1Tb HDD
- GeForce GT 530 2Gb
- On a full-hd 23" monitor

And I’m not able to run the game even at normal graphic settings with decent FPS.

I want to upgrade the graphics card so I can run GW2 AT LEAST on normal settings with stable FPS, but (and I’m sorry I’m a newbie) I don’t know if the mainboard will handle a new DDR5 with PCI-E 3.0. Or the GPU memory type doesn’t matter for that case? I think the mainboard comes only with PCI-E 2.0 connectors, can i still use a 3.0?

2nd thing:
Any suggestions?
HD7770 1Gb ddr5?
GTX650 1Gb ddr5?

Thank you for your patience.

Hello!

I recently bought a new desktop, it’s pretty decent but I cannot say the same about the graphics card – It’s a GeForce GT520.

I want to upgrade the desktop, so I’m asking here for some suggestions about graphic cards. I was looking for something not too expensive but still good – I mean… good enough to run GW2 at decent and stable FPS!

Will any of these do the job?

- MSI Radeon HD 7770 – 1 GB GDDR5
- GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 650 OC – 2 GB GDDR5
- ASUS GeForce GTX 550 Ti DirectCU – 1 GB GDDR5
- MSI GeForce GTX 650 Power Edition OC – 1 GB GDDR5
- GIGABYTE GeForce GT 640 – 2 GB GDDR3

Thanks in advance!

I know we get what we pay for, but I usually play on my laptop (It sucks, I know… xD) but anyway… I want to upgrade the desktop. Will the GT 640 run the game at decent FPS on normal settings?

What about the MSI GeForce GT 630 – 2 GB GDDR3 – PCI-Express 2.0 ? Is it enough to run the game at higher FPS ?

Hi everyone,

I recently bought an ASUS CM6650.
Specifications:
- Core i7 @ 3.40 Ghz
- 6Gb RAM
- GeForce 520 GT – 2Gb dedicated
- Monitor Full HD

This hardware is more than enough to play the game, but the thing is: even at normal/low graphic settings the FPS are always around 30-40FPS and i don’t understand how is that possible… I’ve seen people with worse graphics card playing at higher FPS.

Is there anything I can do to improve the graphics/fps? I already updated the drivers for the graphic card…

Thank you in advance.
