Upkeep will guarantee that this will not allow Revenant to necessarily be stronger, but I agree regarding the shield. Guard is in a good place, I just wish shield was a better option.

You do all remember that Mesmer got shield, right? The other class with only two main hands and even more off-hands? And look how well that turned out. Anet have proven already that elite specs do not revolve around the weapon they give. It might not give us a new attunement, but there will very likely be new class mechanics to compensate.

Also can’t forget changes to Engineer Medkit, also might give dedicated healing a push. I don’t think healing will be essential, but it will be nice to finally have good options.

Wait, what was those changes?

down to engineer, also a trait giving heals on blast finishers and another putting blast finishers on heal skills in inventions.

I understand that my CPU purchased in 2011 is not up to 2015 standards, but I know that it was able to run GW2 moderately well in 2012, 2013, and 2014. It can still run many games now, but GW2 is a problem. I mentioned that I cannot overclock as well.

In any case, I am planning on upgrading, and I can still play the game on my laptop. It just seems ridiculous to me. I’ll try a repair.

Well looking at the game again on lowest settings, I seems to get 90-120 fps when NOT looking at players or enemies other than myself, but as soon as I look at one, drops down instantly to 20 fps. Even with the generic models on. This is getting ridiculous.

Are you getting these 2x readings while gw2 is running?
There’s Power saving options that reduce bus link speed while idle.

Yes. I ran the render test which should show x16 reading as it stresses the GPU, however it didn’t.

What motherboard do you have?

EVGA P55V. I really should change it as it doesn’t even allow for overclocking. Looking at it further, the BIOS settings are very sparse.

First GPU-Z is reporting that the card is only connecting at x2 and not at x16 (Bus Interface, half way down rightmost column).

Even though a card slot looks like an x16 doesn’t mean it’s actually an x16 slot electrically. That’s why I asked if it was in the x16 slot closest to the CPU as this slot is almost guarantee to be a true x16 slot. Then again it could be dust or some other minor physical issue that pulling the card and reseatting it could fix.

Also beta drivers? Sorry not a fan of upgrading from a stable WHQL, 14.12 to beta drivers. Unless of course you are playing Witcher 3.

No idea why this happens to players, the card not waking up to use the full x16 but it happens from time to time.

Well I see now from GPU-Z that it’s in an x2 slot, which makes no sense as I’ve looked up my motherboard and it should have x16 slots. Tried the render test, it didn’t budge. I’ll try reseating the card but I’m not confident that’s the issue.

The card still works great for other games, so I’m confused as to how this is possible. I know GW2 is somewhat demanding, but I should not be getting the performance I am.

Edit: Checked CPU-Z, also shows link width of x2. It has to be either faulty software or the motherboard then. I see people on the internet with the same issue, I’ll check it out. Might also try resetting the BIOS by taking the battery out.

1. Card is in the x16 slot, yes. As I said, everything else runs as it should, this game is the exception.

2. AMD latest beta drivers installed. I have played the game since 2012.

3. I have tried changing all settings, none make a significant difference.

As the title says, it ranges from 30-40 frames looking in first-person at the ground to 10-20 looking anywhere else. I check MSI Afterburner and GPU usage shoots up to 100%.

I have:

HD 5770
I5 760 2.8 GHz
4 GB RAM

Not the best setup, I know, but it used to run the game much better. My laptop with an 840m runs the game better. I can still run pretty much every game that it should be able to handle, but this one is just terrible. VSync does nothing, frame limiter does nothing, even resolution changes barely change it.

Can anyone help?
