Really excited about the next expansion. I loved exploring the Crystal Desert in Prophecies and Nightfall was my favorite campaign so when GW2 came out I was constantly checking the gate at the Blackwing Excavation site in hopes that it had secretly been opened.

Since the Asurans are amazing and the Mesmer Vabbian armor was always one of my favorites I decided to try and make an Asuran with that armor set. I created a few weapons for him to use that are also based on designs from Nightfall.

Was having the same issue, removing the aviator cap seems to have fixed it.

This issue started up a few days ago and before the latest patch.

My characters while standing still will repeatedly bounce in and out of the ground about four times per second. When moving or performing actions the character animation cuts off about a quarter of a second in and restarts. For example if I’m channeling an ability for four seconds my character will appear as if they’ve started and cancelled the action sixteen times in that four second time frame. The actions do complete but it is a little jarring to watch, especially if I’m performing an action that enemies can interrupt.

I’ve restarted the client a few times and played with the graphics settings; character animations, character models, camera settings, and pretty much every other graphical setting I could find in hopes that it may somehow fix the issue but have had no luck so far.

The one benefit is that it looks hilarious when my character dances.

Is this something others have experienced. Does anyone have any suggestions for possible solutions?

EDIT: When I type in chat the text bubble above my character also bounces up and down repeatedly. Its position changes much more substantially than that of my character.

Just remember that the RA system was subject to abuse while successful RA teams eventually had to play against TA groups. And that when they removed TA from the game one of the reasons cited was its dwindling numbers. So queue times actually did in part kill team play in the original.

I do think you’re right though, in suggestion that they separate ranked play into solo and group queues. Though it would likely increase the queue times and make queuing up for ranked play as a group pretty arduous if not impossible. For the sake of competition it only makes sense to have a level playing field, and no algorithm will be able to effectively quantify the communication advantage. Especially when it can’t know if they’re using voice chat or not.

I think League of Legends still allows duos to play in the solo ranked ladder. And that doesn’t seem to have stopped League from becoming a very popular game. Would most of you guys prefer it be straight solo or five man groups? Or would people accept duos joining the solo ranked ladder in order to help fill up matches?

Groups can always go unranked or if they’re more competitive organize matches against other teams as they do for GvG. How about revisiting automated tournaments?

Thanks for the help guys, I think it was alt+shift changing the language settings. I had both Chinese and English as my Input languages.

My game seems to arbitrarily switch me to Mandarin chat characters or something, I’ve been having this issue since I started playing. Occasionally when I try to type in chat or add a party member I am greeted with a drop down menu with a numbered list of Mandarin characters rather than what I am actually trying to type. It is impossible to even select those characters that come up in the drop down list so essentially no matter what I type I just have an empty chat box and the drop down list with characters that can’t even be selected. So far the only way to correct the issue that I’ve been able to find is simply restarting Guild Wars, which isn’t the most elegant solution and is kind of obnoxious. I’m wondering if anyone has heard of or had experience with an issue like this before, or if someone might have an idea what could be going on or what I could do to fix it.
