It seems like there is a bug specifically with the blast effect of the “Call of the Wild” skill from the “Clarion Bond” trait when it triggers in the smoke field created by the Smokescale pet skill “Smoke Cloud”.

After the smoke field is created by the Smokescale pet and you switch pets to trigger the Call of the Wild skill, the boons from the skill are applied but there is no blast effect in the smoke field to grant the stealth effect.

If you try this in another field such as a fire field or water field, the blast effect of Call of the Wild is triggered and extra stacks of the Might boon or healing is applied properly.

This appears to be just when Call of the Wild is triggered through the Clarion Bond trait. If you use Call of the Wild through the warhorn directly, the blast effect does trigger in the smoke field and the stealth effect is applied properly.

I’m experiencing the same thing. I had GWAMM and everything below it and it’s all missing now (titles, achievements points). Not to mention I can’t log into Guild Wars 1 to check my account and the Hall of Monuments calculator seems to be not working either.

Edit: After about 5 minutes, the Guild Wars 1 server came back up and all of my achievement points/titles were restored in Guild Wars 2. I don’t know what they’re doing but if its not Hall of Monuments based, they need to stop breaking working code.

Well, they are fixing Death Shroud so that you can start a finisher while in it, so…

…. at least they are making it consistent.

Creative use is one thing. Mechanics being bypassed is another. As long as finishing cannot be started from within an altered form, you should not be able to simultaneously activate an altered form and a finish. It’s conflicting mechanics. They need to fix it so that you can either start a finish after activating an alternate form like Mist Form or Death Shroud or change it that being in an alternate form interrupts any current finishings. Just because the devs may be aware of an issue, doesn’t mean it’s not a mechanic bug that needs to be fixed.

Actually you’d lose that bet. I main Ranger. If you can’t take camps or deal with small scale skirmishes without abusing an invulnerable finish, that’s a problem with the class or the player.

With a Mist form finish, you’re done, there is nothing more that can be done.

You can teleport away with the Thief or Mesmer downed skill, or use the Elementalist downed Vapour Form to get away. So you’re not one of those classes? Then have your allied Thief, Mesmer or Engineer give you stealth, as stealth will make all stomps whiff. There’s still counter play, it just involves someone else using a utility skill to offset the utility skill being used to try to stomp you.

You raise a point about that being the counter play however the fact remains that finishers can’t be started after going into an alternate form such as Mist Form or Death Shroud. It can only be done if you simutanously activate the form and the finisher. If you can’t activate a finisher after going into the form, why should you be able to complete it during the alternate form. If they changed it so that you can activate the alternate form and then activate the finisher, then the game’s rules would be consistent. As of right now, it’s a bug that you can activate an alternative form and a finisher at the same time.

Just because “It’s always worked this way” doesn’t mean it’s not a broken mechanic and shouldn’t be fixed. If you cannot start a finish after you’ve gone into the invulnerable state (such as Mist form), you should not be able to do a finish while in that state.

But with Stability, you can still interact with them. Stability can be removed by someone else and then the finisher can be interrupted or hit for damage while finishing. With a Mist form finish, you’re done, there is nothing more that can be done. They cannot be damaged, they cannot be CC’d, nothing.

You might say, why not include a Warrior here as well with Endure Pain and Stability? Because they can still get interacted with. You can still hit them (albeit for 0 damage) and the Stability can still be removed. The problem lies with not being able to interact with the one finishing. You’re already down and likely can’t stop them from finishing you, but if they use an invulnerability skill like Mist form, it removes any kind of counter play.

Can you please fix the glitch where you can start finishing a downed opponent and activate invulnerability skills such as Mist Form (and to a lesser extend Death Shroud) at the same time. If you cannot start a finish after you’ve gone into those forms, you should not be able to complete a finish during them.
