Nothing was handed over to the players. It was a large scale long event and needed many people to be completed, and all who was there was expecting at least something good, otherwise it wouldn’t have been worth it.
You had to work at that time? Bad luck.
You had to go out with your friends? Bad luck.
You can’t blame ANet for giving worthy prizes for an important large scale event announced since the beginning of the month, just because you couldn’t participate.I honestly would be pissed too if I missed the event, so I understand your anger, but you really can just blame the odds. There will always be someone working at the time of an event. And they can’t just appeal for everyone’s timezone.
There’s a really easy way A.Net could have catered to people actually having lives.
Make the event reward people once per account, but running on a loop for at least a few days.
That way everybody gets to experience the event, regardless of their schedule.
One-time-only events are a terrible idea, and A.Net really needs to learn that quickly.
Constantly feeling that you’re missing half the game because you can’t make it to a specific few hours on a day is TERRIBLE for the health of the game.
Judging from their calendar of events, now that the launch-time issues have been mostly smoothed out, they’re looking at adding new content on a monthly basis.
This pleases me.
I’ve been a big fan of A.Net’s dedication to improving their game right from the launch of the original, base Guild Wars. This has not changed since.
That depends; are you looking for mindless spam, or for things which require some thought and tactics?
Basically the difference between "Engage Grenade Kit*12341111121111311114, and the constant switching of kits and proper use of skills that lets you do some pretty crazy things.
If the second; Mesmer.
Necromancers can be pretty nonstop as well, at least with Staves.
This was my favorite part of the Halloween content.
I’m sorry you didn’t have the ability to complete it. I’m sorry your shortcomings instill in you the desire to project those shortcomings onto everyone else by committing emotional blackmail by trying to get the developers to feel badly that disabled people may not be able to complete the content.
But mostly, I’m just happy that Arenanet created this awesome piece of content. Thanks Arenanet!
Holy Passive Aggressive BS, Batman.
Passive aggressive would imply that I didn’t intend for it to be aggressive.
If I could post a middle finger ASCII at the end of it without getting an infraction, man, I sure would have.
Passive aggression has nothing to do with intent and all to do with style.
The requests being made by and large are not unreasonable – very few people are asking for the jump puzzle to be made easier, instead the request overwhelmingly seems to be just allowing people to see their character through the massive norn and charr characters.
Because you’re able to get past it regardless does not make you a special and unique snowflake, requiring protection from all the mean nasty people who just want a fair shake at completing content.
Many people have no objection to having it be difficult, but the way we learn is by doing; and it’s not possible to learn and improve without being able to identify where the problem is.
I would add one drawback to it, though.
It’s less about skill and more about luck when everybody’s thrown in together – and it becomes all but impossible to see platforms through the swarm of people trying to jump them.
That really reduces the awesomeness of it a fair amount – really should have taken advantage of instancing to reduce the number of people in it at once.
It’s a sour note in what is otherwise an incredibly cool jumping puzzle.
