The Biconics cannot carry the GW Franchise

Very good read. To see a thread like this with so many thought out points and opinions gives me hope that some day… Anet will see topics like this and improve their storytelling. Like so many have brought out, Tyria is a massive world with many interesting characters. To limit the majority of our characters interaction to the five in our group is a disservice to the story of Guild Wars.

If they make Tengu as unique/colorful as this picture, I will proudly make one! Please Anet! The OP is on to something!

As long as they make it an option to remove them, I’m cool with it I for one, love the backpacks for my Charr engineer.

What dyes are you using? Have you tried changing the dyes? It could make all the difference.

I tried many different dyes from rare to the starter, reversed the hues, and switched the metal to a dark color and the highlight to a brighter and a darker dye. Nothing affected the look. Thanks though for the advice guys. I am trying other things :P

You’re taking those screenshots on an asura. On a charr, the texture is blown up 3x or so, isn’t it? So the resolution could still be garbage.

This is true. So it could be just a Charr thing That would be unfortunate. Normally, for shoulders and weapons at least, the textures and resolution scale fine.

That’s part of the design. Look at this picture for a clearer picture.

Note: all my settings are on the lowest.

Even so, it looks completely out of place with the higher textures and resolution of the game. Wonder if anet knows how these look

Hello! It took me 10 invasions to get them, but I finally got these awesome shoulders from the event. Previewing them, they always looked fine. I finally equip them, and they look like this image. The textures are clearly low res. Is this intended? I love the design for my engi, but with those awful textures…..Will there be a fix?

Thoughts on Ascended Gear? [Merged threads]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I played Guild Wars for thousands of hours. More than any other game I have ever played. Why? Because the max level gear/stats was easy to acquire, HOWEVER to look awesome/epic/exotic/kitten it took time and effort. It was a brilliant design, a design that kept GW1 going for so long, through THREE full length expansions, and WE LOVED it. We could load that brand new Factions box and download the updates and play worry free, because we had access to all the content in the new game.

We were excited for all the new Skills, Skins, and Classes the new expansion offered, and we would work hard to get that incredible LOOKING gear. It felt good to work hard for gear that defined your character from the only vantage other players really saw, HOW YOU LOOK IN GAME. You take one look at someone with Obsidian in GW1, and you thought, ‘wow, that guy worked hard to look that awesome.’ It WAS NOT, ‘wow…that guy has Acended gear…I wish i could the dungeons he can do…’

ANET, this design, as minute a stat increase it is, betrays your design of GW2. No one wants to be shut out of doing a dungeon you added to continue the epic story of Guild Wars by stats and infusions. Except maybe the minority of people who came from treadmill based games, who post on these forums, you can clearly see from this thread that the MAJORITY does not want the stain that is treadmill on this game’s record.

If you want something like infusions in the game, make it like the campaign with the Seer in GW1. Have us do a difficult dungeon to get our armor infused, in order to complete the the next dungeon. Don’t add a stat/gear treadmill.

From someone who truly does enjoy GW2, and wants it to continue healthy and firm in its design and philosophy.

How do you enjoy Guild Wars 2?

Are you kidding me? Worst story? Now it ain’t the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing. However your ignorant statement about it being the worst, leads me to believe you havnt played many RPGs (or MMORPGs) at all. Or that youre trolling.

Also, to state that its not the worst or the best MMORPG you’ve ever played, implying you indeed HAVE played the BEST out there…..why the kitten are you here? Why aren’t you still playing that incredible game? No one person is going to change your mind. Why are you waisting yours and everybodys time?

Having the problem frequently now. (only in WvW). Get the bizarre noise, then seconds later the noise rapidly stutters and the game no longer responds. (have to ctr+alt+delete) Once i restart GW2 it is back to normal.
