What kind of numbers are you expecting? Wvw has been on the decline since day one, that’s nothing new.
They want to go with changes that the majority of players want, obviously not everyone is going to be happy with every decision. But if 75% say they want population linking I’m not going to sit here and say screw the 75% and take it off because I don’t like it.
Kitten off the 75% or the 25%? It ain’t going to be easy for them to try and make wvw better. They have to make some decisions for the betterment of the game, not just a small sub section of players who like roaming around these huge maps with 5 people. Not that, that gameplay is gone either, you might not find it in T1 much, but it’s still around in T4.
Seriously they just need to unlock the T8 servers and offer free transfers for those players that like running around and not seeing anyone else for 5 mins, then offer free tranfers for players off there that want to link up, to the T4 servers. They want their own backyard instead of being in the playground then give it to them and leave them there cause they ain’t gonna be happy with any type of merge into larger numbers… which wvw was made for.

Honestly OP is the reason why you should completely avoid listening to the player base for the most part. You’ll never not find someone complaining about something, that’s fine. However in this situation he’s said nothing of value to back up his opinion.
It’s not making it appear like there is more players present, there is more players present. Before the player base was scattered on way to many servers each having their own borderland and an extra borderland in EB per tier. Currently there’s less tiers and more stacked servers by the link, removing servers or forcing the players to move onto ‘WvW’ servers would have been the death of the game for a lot of WvWers.
ESO had a perfectly fine WvW system, when the developers listened to the complaints of the few, it was broken in one patch.
No, theirs more people per server, but if devs would fess up the numbers, you would probably see an over all decline in the total number of active wvw participants.
I realize that alot of people do like the linking, and thats all good and well, but at the same time they are alienating an entire spectrum of players that dont want to be part of the hot mess of zergfest we have right now.
Now i realize that one person saying this isnt worth a hill of beans, but I am the player that talks with my wallet, average I put into this game a week is $50 US. If i get annoyed enough, might spend 50 bucks on a different game, but thats me.
Every player they annoy/alienate or down right kitten off is lost money for the devs. End of story. Ask the developers over there at star wars galaxies how that worked out when hundreds of thousands of players got annoyed, and walked.
Just curious, what world do you play for? I’m looking at the current breakdown of votes by world right now, and nearly every world has voted in favor of World Linking. There are a few that are 50/50, and one that is against it.
Tyler I play on fergusons crossing. Most of the people I play(ed) with in wvw arent even bothering anymore. Yea, we were small, yea were were like rank 16, but we enjoyed our small roaming gangs and having to use some skill and thought, not just play follow the blob every night.
as of this posting, were losing….AGAIN, down by about 26k points or so. oh, did I mention, its monday?
Oh, sorry, I meant to say I play on Darkhaven+ you know since FC doesent exist anymore.

the wvw linking poll just hit 75% for yes…..for the love of god and all things holy please go vote no….like right now. The linking is HORRIBLE for the game, and is a lazy out for the devs, instead of fixing whats actually broken with wvw….making people want to play their just combining worlds to make it APPEAR as if there are more people present.
Here’s a clue for you anet, alot, and by i mean alot i mean ALOT of people I wvw with arent bothering right now. We dont want the zerg fest running around everywhere, thats not enjoyable for some people. You have basically killed all the people who refuse! to be in a blob mindlessely following a tag like zombies.
I used to wvw…every day…hours a day, and was a commander. Now I go into wvw to complete guild missions, then leave. It is not fun fighting a hundred to 10.
