I just hit level 60 with my thief. I just started playing, and this is my main char. I have to say I love the thief class, I’ve tried a few others but this has been my favorite this I stayed with it. So I’ve been using a condition type build so far as it’s great for PVE I love bursting in and getting away to let DoTs run their course. I found at first my traits weren’t adding up to much, but at 40 things started making more sense. At 60 I find I can utilize the trees much better, and am looking forward to combinations at 80..

With all that said at 60 I decided to try a stealth build, I like the fact you can just stealth in and out trying for that big crit from the backstab, but for my personal play style I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would.

I love the way perks at 10-20-30 etc open up possible combos and being changeable gives every character a sort of uniqueness. Now personally I like to be a part of the action all the time. I’m positive stealth builds are amazing for PvP, WvW. This is a build I created, although I’m probably not the first, I believe it’s the best possible build I can make for my type of play. I’d like to see what anyone else thinks. Sorry for the big rant lol. Here’s the beauty!>

I would just like to say too.. I’m just learning the thief still , at 80 is when I’ll really try different combinations for builds. And I know I don’t know best, this just seems viable. Please give me your feed back, opinions, and any help with the build/understanding thief better is much appreciated!

Hello all I’m new to GW2

I’ve probably only put in maybe 5-10 hours tops so far, but I love the mechanics and the variety of this game. Although most likely some combinations of weps don’t work well. I think it’s really cool how each has their own skills. That makes it worth at least TRYING all weapons not just for their dmg..

So I rolled a WAR today, and I am loving the dps quick action
I’m going trying to capitalize on DMG rather than longevity of life :P

I’ve only started unlocking a few weapons, currently Horn, 1H Sword, 1H Mace, 2H Sword, 2H Mace. It was obvious before I looked this up on the net that the 2H Sword is going to constantly hold one slot in my swap. I had an idea in mind, but I haven’t seen anyone suggest it, unless I overlooked it… anyway here’s what I was thinking for a good combo:

1H Sword/Horn & 2H Sword. I’m thinking I can Jump attack into battle throw on speed buff, and MAYBE endurance buff, swap to 2H use a bunch of attacks and keep switching back for that speed. Is this ridiculous? Keep in mind I’m new :p I’m sure I’ll know soon!
