Lucid Virtu MVP and GW2? (HD3000 vs HD4000)?

Stay as far away from Lucid Virtual MVP as you can. Don’t use it, don’t even install it. It’s a horrible, buggy piece of software that will at-best keep your frame rate about the same, at worst it will make your games crash. It really only “works” on old games like Quake 3 which doesn’t matter since they run at like 200fps on modern GPUs anyway.

If you have this software installed on your machine, remove it immediately and just use your normal GPU drivers. Trust me.

I was able to fix my issue by returning my GPU to stock clock speeds. No other games are having issues with the overclock, but for some reason GW2 is all of a sudden.

I ended up fixing my issue by setting my GPU back to stock clock speeds. It appears that the newest update to GW2 made it not play so nice with my OC. I’m unsure why, as no other games are having issues with it. But I was able to play without a crash for a couple hours last night after setting it to stock.

I’m experiencing crashes and have an AMD card. I don’t think the GPU matters. Ever since the last update, I’ve experienced crashes consistently, today I can’t even play because they are so frequent. This is in the log:

Starting yesterday I was getting random crashes occasionally. Today, I can’t play for more than 10-15 minutes before the game crashes, which means I basically can’t play it at all. I can’t even get through a story mission without crashing.

I looked at the log and this is what I’m seeing:

—> Crash <—
Exception: c0000005
Memory at address 3766fdb8 could not be written
App: Gw2.exe
Pid: 3432

Any ideas on what is causing this issue? Here are my specs:

i5 3570 @ 4.4GHz
16 GB RAM
AMD HD6950
Crucial M4 SSD (up to date firmware)
12.8 AMD Drivers (current)

I did a repair on my installation and still the same issue. I’m not getting issues in other games like Borderlands 2, but I don’t want to play BL2 I want to play GW2!

Game keeps crashing (every 30 mins or so)

Same exact issue for me. 30-45 minutes of play and boom, it dies and hard freezes my whole machine.

I’m having the same issue. I can play for about 30-45 minutes and then I get a crash that freezes my entire computer. I know it’s happening when text from all of the menus starts to disappear and the sound starts to get funny. I can still play (with no text) for 30 seconds or so, but then it hard freezes and I have to reboot my machine manually.

I went back to stock everything (CPU, GPU, Mem clocks), and ran extensive tests on all of my components. CPU and GPU are not overheating or throwing errors, and the memory has tested out fine. This is really frustrating as it appears that it is a game issue. Prior to today, I was able to play for hours upon hours with zero issues. Here is my setup:

3570k
HD6950
16 GB RAM (4×4)
Crucial M4 128GB SSD
