Deployable cannons are terrible. Please remove them.
Looking at the current news we have and how much love WvW has gotten by anet in the past few years, the WvW overhaul will probably come with the next expansion in around 3 years and also require the next expansion to play. gg.
We’ve avoided adding this feature because we don’t believe it would be healthy for WvW. While we can appreciate why some players would want a feature like this, lots of other players only engage in WvW when, upon entering a WvW map, immediately see a commander icon to follow. We try and avoid adding features that can be used to intentionally exclude other players.
By not adding Private Tags and forcing tags to be seen by everyone is excluding me and others from the game as guild groups often don’t want to run with people who don’t listen to the driver or people who refuse to get on ts. If we wished to lead pugs we would pop a commander tag for all to see. We choose not too and should not be punished for that decision. Don’t you see that you can’t force us to include randoms who refuse to cooperate properly in our rallies? Please consider adding guild or private tags so that guilds or privately running groups can operate properly and avoid excluding the hardcore players from the game.
As someone from a lower tier server, as someone who has been in the lowest tier very recently and as someone who refuses to leave my server – server merge would drastically improve the quality and population of at least the bottom three, if not four servers.
But someone would have to leave their servers for that, right?
The difference between server merges and transferring is that server merges means that I remain playing with all my friends on the server while transferring means i don’t.
If you’re whining about needing a server merge because the game feels too dead in your matchup, transfer, it’s 500 gems to get to a t5 server which is fairly lively or 1k to get to t3 which is very lively. Don’t ask anet to kill a legitimate style of play because you’re too cheap/lazy to improve your experience yourself. That’s downright scummy to do.
If you’re whining about needing a server merge because you’re in t1-2 and think the poor uncivilized heathens in low tiers need your protection, please go away. Your opinion is not wanted and not helpful in any way. Unless you have experience in these tiers, leave the discussion to those who this would actually effect, specifically t6-8.
When will these threads stop popping up? This was getting tiring a year ago.
For the past few months my guild and I on IoJ, have been in t8, we recently managed to push with our server to t6 and we still believe a server merge is necessary. There is almost nothing happening in t8. ET is barely going to break 15k this week. Kaineng has dominated enough to be triple the score of both other servers combined because the other two servers neither have the manpower nor motivation to play. Reset in t6 is the only day that either of the three current servers, IoJ, GoM and BP have any decent sized presence over the week. Please come back in a month and report. Right now, actual numbers aren’t reflective.
WvW has just received its biggest update in years and hardly anyone is using it. The wvw maps are new content. If new content is not being used and people are complaining about it then there is obviously something wrong with it. You say come back in a month when other content has died off but that’s not the issue. The issue is that the new maps are not getting any attention because regardless of size they are not suitable for WvW. People arent playing PvE because its better, they are playing PvE because WvW has gone to the kitten with the xpac.
Pains me to say it but I agree. The new borderlands have sadly turned a struggling game mode into a dead game mode. I run around the bls and EB and there is nothing to fight. PvP is stuffed with balance at the moment and WvW is extinct. Where am I going to find fights? The only reason I play this game is for the thrill of fighting other players in a group with my friends – none of us can stand PvE. The only solution to the current population imbalance is a server merge, at least that way there will be at least some players in WvW. People suggest that WvW will recover in a few weeks but I don’t believe that will be the case and many people on my server agree. The new borderlands are difficult to navigate and far too large to find any decent fights in.
I’m really not happy with this.
Courtyard is the only true pvp map in the game, there are no other mechanics, no pve bosses involved. It is literally only a fight to the death between players. I cannot fathom why Courtyard would be removed – It is a good map and it deserves to have its place in the unranked rotation. It forces communication, coordination and strategy to a level that other unranked game modes are no where near.
Please bring back our beloved potion of wolf transformations.
