Is Ascended gear better than Exotic gear for WvWvW?

Actually, with the information we have now, we don’t know if infusions have an effect on stats.

It was the last thing I needed for 100% so I could hardly give up there.

Ugh. People, math. It isn’t hard.

Once they have ascended pieces for every slot, if they’re all 8% higher individually it will mean a full set of ascended is 8% higher stats.

And that’s without accounting for whatever the infusions themselves bring.

I’m an old guy too and yes, the EB vistas are really really irritating. I finally managed the one you’re talking about with the little plank hops but it took me at least an hour.

Don’t worry though, the world completion isn’t the thing that will stop you getting the legendary, it is the horrible WvW badge farming.

Why does everyone hate Trahearne?

For me Trahearne is just the poster child for everything GW2 fails to do as a storytelling experience. It isn’t so much how he’s written – though he’s boring and his being a necromancer is totally at odds with everything about how he’s portrayed – it is the fact that he’s more important than the player character, that he gets the fancy sword, etc. He’s a focus for all the frustrations there are – the lack of control over your own tone or personality, the de-emphasizing of the player character in favor of the terrible cast of main characters, etc.

GW1 did these things so much better for the most part (let alone comparing to games like SWTOR or single player RPGs) , and because Trahearne is the central character he just becomes the poster child for all the mistakes.

The henchmen in GW1 managed to have more personality in 5 lines of dialogue than this guy has through the entire story.

I don’t go there unless I need mats.
- It’s really ugly, for the most part. Granted I’m color-blind, so that might be affecting my perception. Nearly every MMO does this – makes their final zone an ugly slog through “evil” looking terrain. I’m tired of it.
- There’s not enough mob variety to complete the daily.
- The events are so zergy that the culling code kicks in and I rarely even see a mob, let along get hits on them for item drop credit.

In my opinion, Cultural armor is too expensive

There were no equivalent sets in the first game. Equivalent sets in the first game would have had the price of 15k armor but the stats of level 18 gear.

Have you gotten an Exotic drop yet?

Just craft. Trying to get them via drops is a fool’s errand.

You are not buying armor, you are buying a costume. It is labeled as armor because of how transmutation works.

Were this true, it would be a double-click item like the heritage armor from the Hall of Monuments. It’s overpriced for what it is, the end. It should either cost what Vigil/Priory/etc. armor costs, or be exotic (or make it clear what the intent is by making it a cosmetic-only item like the heritage armor.) Nothing else makes sense – especially when you consider the price of the lower tier items which are allegedly for lower level characters. It almost looks like they nerfed income at some point during beta and then forgot to change the prices.

Can we allow players to rearrange the order of their weaponskills?

This will only get worse with time as they re-balance other weapons and classes. Plus they’re already breaking their ‘policy’ with for example mesmer staff 4/5 and engineer offhand pistol 4/5. There’s no sensible reason I can see for this to have been changed now that players are used to it.

Allowing us to arrange the order how we like is a clearly preferable solution for everyone, though.

Move my greatsword buttons back (Guardian)

I don’t give 2 craps about any nerfs, or balance changes, or anything like that.

I do care that you just stuck me with hours and hours of getting used to where my new buttons are for no reason. How many times am I going to die because I fire a leap off instead of a sword spin? This is an utterly stupid change that has no point at all. Nobody cares if the abilities are in order of cooldown on the bar.

I am generally really easygoing about MMO patches. No patch in 12 years of online gaming has ever angered me this much. So uh, grats on that I guess.

If you’re not going to let me move buttons around in the first place the least you can do is not yank the rug out from under me on the order you give them in the first place.
