Why not demand that you can change your lvl at anytime like in final fantasy dissdia duodecim? I think this would be far more easier and flexible.
The ability to down-level further than the “Max Level”? That actually sounds pretty interesting. At least it could be used to replicate some of the challenges mentioned.
As it has been a while since I initially posted this, I was wondering if ArenaNet has made any progress in developing such a trinket.

there is no intrinsic stat gain from leveling as far as i know.
From the wiki:
“Primary attributes grow with character level, starting with 24 in each at level 1. Each level up through level 9 grants 4 points to each attribute; levels 10–19 grant 6 points each; 20–29, 8 points; … 70–79, 18 points; 80, 20 points. "
:D u win this round, might as well do the naked challenge then since the majority of stats will still come from gear
Unluckily the health gain alone completely negates a low level challenge. My warrior with no armor/weapons/trinkets/traits/boosts still has over 19k health, and that’s not to mention the other stat bonuses. Sadly, there is no way to replicate a low level challenge at level 80, even if you go bare-fisted, butt-naked, untrained, and without a single shiny object on you.

I have been very hesitant to ask for this, as the group of players who it would benefit is relatively small; however, if it wouldn’t take too much time, could we get an in-game item that prevents all experience gain?
In every game I play, and I do mean every, I eventually get bored with the story line and general game play. Yet there are games that I have continued to play for over 10 years. This is because the one thing I truly enjoy in a game is a challenge. However, ever since the release of Guild Wars 2, I’ve yet to find a single challenge that I would truly be proud of accomplishing.
One of my favorite challenges, from Guild Wars 1 and many of the Final Fantasy games is the Low Level Challenge (LLC). Trying to achieve specific goals while intentionally capping your character development can be very difficult, and just as rewarding. This is currently made impossible in Guild Wars 2 due to the fact that everything gives you experience. Earlier in the year I tried to make a level 2 character that had level 80 fractals unlocked, but since fractal levels have been reset and made account bound, even that challenge has been negated.
While I understand the percentage of players who would use the item would be relatively small, a simple trinket that prevents all experience would greatly improve my gaming experience with Guild Wars 2. It would open up a wide range of low level challenges, including but not limited to 100% exploration, story-line completion, and dungeon mastery.
I understand the creation of such an object may be difficult to program due to the vast amount of ways experience can be gained, and if my request is not reasonable, I would understand. However, this is very important to me, and I thought it was about time I asked.
Thank you for making an incredible game.

Recently I started a new job with odd work-hours, so I’m trying to find a guild in NA that does guild missions anytime Sunday-Tuesday. My IGN is Initia Nova. You’re welcome to send me a whisper when I’m online. (FYI, I’m not looking for any guilds with rep. requirements; strictly joining for guild missions).
Honestly, 20 levels can be gained back in under a week. Now those 250 ecto I spent getting the +5 on my backpack, those will take quite a bit more time to re-coup.
You haven’t lost anything…in fact unless they’re changing the way we infuse items and haven’t said as much yet you’re getting +5 AR that someone who infuses after the patch will not get.
Existing Infused Ascended Rings and Back Items lose their natural +5 Agony Resist, and receive a +5 Agony Resist Infusion by default.
New Infused Ascended Rings and Back Items will have an empty slot.https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/fractured/Agony-changes/first#post3228298
You’re right that they won’t get the +5 AR automatically, but they will be able to add an inscription to get that extra +5 AR, and you can’t possibly tell me that the new +5 AR inscription is effectively the same as 250 ectos. Not when +1’s that can be combined ‘drop frequently’.
the new thing is confusing without seeing it, but he is right.
to make it clear only the 250 ecto backpiece (the only backpieces marked as (infused)) you already have will even have a slot for the new AR infusions. you cant put the new AR infusions into regular infusion slots. To top it off you will be getting a +5 infusion slot built in, after the update, when they spend the 250 ectos, it will be an empty slot.
so yes you soundly ahead of the game and have an even better value for your ecto than you will have after the update
Nevermind, just realized that infusion’s aren’t going away. Gotcha.

Fyi, I went through floors 0-3, and the ones I listed for floor 1 appear to be the only problem duplicates. Currently I’m just using the data from the other floors, but it should probably be looked at anyway.
That actually will work for now, although a more official source than a user-uploaded image would be nice.
From looking at many of the posts on here, I gather that most of the duplicate maps in the map_floor JSON are due to story instances and the like. However, while searching through the JSON for Tyria Floor 1, I noticed that not only are Dredgehaunt Cliffs, Lornar’s Pass, Blazeridge Steppes, Bloodtide Coast, and Harathi Hinterlands doubled, but their doubles also share the same map ID. This means when I parse the data with JQuery, the initial map data is overwritten by the doubled map data, which is often incomplete. Is there a reason these doubles share the same map IDs, and is it possible to change their map IDs since it makes the previous information inaccessible?
Does anyone know what the render link is for the vista icon? I’m in the process of building a map generating API, so I’m trying to find all of the map icons.
Well, it’s been over two weeks now, and I still haven’t gotten any response. I’m assuming these chests are just gone. I just hope everyone else is a bit more careful than I was.
Since I haven’t heard any response about this in a few days, should I submit a support ticket?
I recently started playing WvW again, and I had 80 laurels to spend, so I went ahead and bought 40 Tastes of Liquid World Experience. I then proceeded to spam these from rank 10 to rank 50. Once I was done with the spam, I accepted the reward chests one by one. However, I only got reward chests for ranks 11-22 (pretty sure 22 was the last one I got). I figured the other reward chests may not appear until I logged in and out, but I tried that with no luck. Have I just lost the 28 reward chests from 23-50? Is there anyway to get them back? I didn’t realize I was going to not receive the full rewards by ranking all at once.
What do you mean by “not working”? I’ve got plenty of ascended rings, both as drops and through relics, and haven’t run into problems yet.
Obviously you know that the new fractal rings that were introduced on the patch on the 26th aren’t currently able to be infused right? They do not show up in the mystic forge, so are unable to be infused. By infused I mean infused, not have an infusion applied to them.
Very disappointing. I got the ring I want to infuse but because of this bug I am still taking 12% agony damage / tick in 20-29 fractals due to lacking inherent infusion. I wouldn’t have bought it if I knew how much it would hold me back for so long, and it’s not as if this is an irrelevant complaint. I can’t put an exact figure on how much harm this has caused me but over several 20-29 fractals I can imagine it’s fairly significant.
And no, I can’t just infuse an old one for the time being because I have barely any vials, globs or shards, and besides none of those are the ring I want to use. The ring I want to use is the Ossa Family Signet Ring but I can’t and it sucks.
Come on, Anet, what is going on?
Thanks for not taking the time to read this thread and also pretending this issue and this thread doesn’t exist.
P.S. I’d still like my 10 pristine fractal relics back, or a bug fix, or a working infusable item.
P.P.S. I’m going to keep bumping this until I get a dev reply, or at least a timetable for a fix other than ‘when it’s ready’.
That makes sense, maxie. Especially if Infused versions of the rings can already drop from the daily chests. Sadly this may be low on Anet’s priority list, though.

This isn’t too surprising. One of the possible reasons for the bug is the built in physics engine not accounting for a change in medium. If the mechanics of CC are controlled by built in ‘force’ values, rather than set ‘distance’ values, the underwater CC would require more ‘force’ to account for higher medium resistance. When the player then hits the water/air barrier, the resistance applied is reduced, but the remaining force is not proportionally reduced. Combine that with gravity being turned off while underwater, and you get a very, very high launch into the air.
Quickener, this is probably not the response you want to hear, but if the only pick up groups you can find are the ones using the exploit, I suggest waiting until it is fixed before getting your tokens. Ethical reasons aside, using any exploit can, and often will, get you banned.
