Guild Wars 2

So the gist of it is basically that I have to buy a new CPU in order to play GW2 again, even though I just bought a new one, which seems to be a downgrade from the 5-6 year old CPU I had before.

… that is kind of funny, in a sad and devastating way.^^

What CPU did you have before ? You just said you upgraded ypir GPU.

Btw. do you still have the old GPU ? If so just try how it works with your new CPU.

My old graphics-card was broken, which is why i bought a new one in the first place. However, I also had to get a new mainboard and CPU, because I was told that the GTX760 wouldn’t work well with the one I had – so what I did was to pretty much exchange everything but the HDD and the DVD-drive and sell the old stuff that still worked.

The CPU I had before was an i5 2.3GHz if I remember right.

Hm… I still can’t really believe it… I mean, I could run the game without any problems on my 5-6 year old system and the new hardware can’t even handle it on the lowest graphics settings. oO

Could a newer CPU really be that bad?^^

Man… and there I just “upgraded” everything like 3-4 months ago ._.

It’s an AMD A8-6600 Quadcore 3,90GHz

strangely it only shows 1.1 when the game’s open – at the moment it’s showing me 2.0 oO

Alright, I tried that – this is the result.

I only just updated all the drivers a few days ago.

Before, I ran a graphics driver version that was even a little older than the one you suggested (the one that came out in January this year) – still the same problem, unfortunately. :/

I recently upgraded my graphics-card from a GeForce GTX460 (1024Mb) to a GeForce GTX760 (2048Mb). I also upgraded my power adapter according to the demands of the new hardware and reinstalled the whole system – all drivers are up date.

Now my problem is as follows: With the new graphics-card I’m getting max. 40-50 frames at lowest settings of the game in areas with no other players around, while I mostly had constant smooth 60FPS with my old card – even in somewhat crowded areas with moderately high graphics settings.

So my question is – does anyone have an idea what could cause this? It actually doesn’t matter whether i set the graphics options to the lowest or highest settings – I’m still constantly in between 30-50 frames. :/

Already wrote a support ticket like a week ago, no reply yet.

I’m lvl60 would have enough spare skill points to unlock it if it would cost something and also didn’t receive it!
