Pretty glaring art issue. I’m wearing the Heavy Twilight Arbor armor (Nightmare Pauldrons/Nightmare Cuirass/Nightmare Gauntlets) as well as T2 Sylvari Cultural armor (Warden Leggings) where only part of the armor is being colored, while the rest of the armor stays the same green color. It’s pretty annoying!
Glad I’m not the only one experiencing this, it seems it’s only affecting male Sylvari using heavy cultural or TA armour. And the colour that cannot be dyed over is always the same as the default skin colour.
If you have black dye could you try dyeing one of your TA pieces black? I’ve got an issue where after applying black dye to a TA piece doesn’t save and it gets reverted to “Dye Remover”, as if the current issue isn’t enough of a headache.
Okay so it seems to be an issue with the Male Sylvari and Sylvari heavy armour. I’ve also found last night that I cannot dye my TA armour black, when I close the hero panel after setting the colour it revert to “Dye Remover”, this does not happen on other armour pieces.
Clearly there are bugs with my armour and it’s becoming very frustrating, especially with no word from Anet on this issue.
Parts of sylvari cultural (and apparently TA) armour are based on your skin colour.
If that’s true then it doesn’t explain the issue not cropping up for a fellow Sylvari friend of mine. But if it really is the case then I’d very much like it removed, it severely limits my dye colour options.
I guess this is where I should post this.
So ever since I got my Tier 1 heavy armour for my Sylvari it’s had this base blue colour that I cannot dye over. Once I got my tier 2 it had the same issue.
I eventually replaced the culturals with Dragonic Armour and the it was no longer an issue. Now however I started getting my Twilight Arbor set and exactly the same thing is happening, there’s a blue base colour that I cannot dye over.
I’m hoping this is a bug and not a symptom of being Sylvari because a friend who’s playing human can dye it whatever colour he wants, because this severely limits the dye colours I can use on this set.
I have a attached an image displaying an example of the issue.

I’m currently using this build http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#mVcz9VmGvaomGvao0axx0MVoqosR. I find this one to be a good “Heal Tank” build.
The important trait here is altruistic healing which heals you for every boon you have on an ally and this applies to each stack.
I tested this out yesterday against champions in Orr and I effectively didn’t even have to use my main heal since my boons were stacking and healing me back up to full health and this was while using my Berserker trinkets and not my Paladin ones.
The trick with this build is the might stack you give allies from critical hits and only using the shouts and virtues when you are at half health or lower. At this point you just watch your health climb back up to full.
