To some of us farming 10g isnt as easy as other people make it out to be
a lot of people can make that in a few hours through WvW
but here’s the thing
many of us Don’t play WvW and there are those like myself who actually hate WvW content even more so since you need wvw maps for 100% world completion but that’s a whole different rant10g for me is a significant amount of money specially to put into something so simple as a devil horn animation..
I mean we are talking twice the price of an ascended earing here which is far more useful than a cosmetic potion10g is way too much money to be spent on such a simple purely cosmetic potion
you may ask then why did I buy it and I will simply answer because I really wanted it and it’s a limited time item
in short I had no choice but to pay up the 10gthat doesn’t mean at all that I have to be happy about it
I simply like pricing to be fairit costs around 1g for a functional costume brawl quaggan tonic on the trading post
but a little halo animation costs 10g and has no effects other than cosmetic
is that really a fair trade specially when it takes 7 days of running the rubble piles collecting Heirlooms..unless of course you are one of those people who are willing to dedicated 50+ hours of constant farming in LA to get the Heirlooms instead
I agree with RoyalPredator these potions should have been Achievement rewards
I agree with this. Farming the heirlooms was already less than fun, and 10g is nothing to sneeze at for a lot of players. Despite this being my primary game to play and despite playing since launch, the most gold I’ve ever had in my bank at one time is 67g. Dropping 10 of that on a purely cosmetic item doesn’t feel good.
Yes, I paid it. Why? Because after participating in living story event after living story event and not having anything to show for it due to real world time constraints, I finally had an entire weekend that I could devote to the event. I just really hope this doesn’t become a regular trend.
I think there should be some visible reward for participating in the events, but as it is, it seems like every reward is for grinding.
I agree…I’m at 4/6 and I’m not sure which ones I still need. I’ve been present at all of them, but don’t have credit for two, but I can’t tell which. It’s a little annoying.
I don’t understand how she’s had the time to do everything that she’s done, much less get all the resources…
I’d love an expansion that takes us back to some of the other continents. I want to see how the rest of the world has been changing!
Wow….I didn’t even know they put lore stories on the website.
I just assumed all the story info was in game.
To be honest, I’m surprised to see that so many people found the part with the oozes to be easy. Last night I was in a party with two friends and two randoms, so three of us at least knew each other well, and the two others were great about communicating and helping, and even with such a good group, we were stuck at this part for almost half an hour before just giving up. It was a real bummer.
We tried everything we could think of, and would get close, but never succeeded, even with a player who’d been through the path before. I expect dungeons to be challenging, but this part feels like it has more to do with luck, especially with all the coordinating we were doing and still failing.
I think that if they just made the oozes green enemies, so that they didn’t aggro any player who gets too close and don’t get hit by aoe abilities, this section would be much more do-able. But I can see why some might find that this would make it too easy.
A friend and I experience extreme lag whenever we try to go through Twilight Arbor, to the point where we can’t see anything that’s going on, run in place for several seconds, and get kicked out of the dungeon time after time. It happens every time we try to go through it. I’ve only had minor lag problems in other dungeons, though.
Does anyone know if this is typical of TA?
In response to Leo G and generalraccoon, I think the difficulty might come from having to balance dungeons with a greater amount of randomization. Also, I think the response from players would be pretty negative since randomization would make skipping much more difficult. I think the developers would have to increase the rewards or make dungeons take a little less time to complete to balance out the difficulty to skip.
Personally, I’d still really enjoy randomized dungeons. Maybe not every dungeon needs it; there could be some engineered around randomness, so that players have a choice about what kind of dungeon they want to play.
I think a level of randomness in dungeons could be really fun, sort of like the bonus bosses that sometimes pop up. But…I feel like that would be impossibly difficult for the developers to do.
It could add a sense of adventure and novelty when doing the same dungeon over and over though.
I think that skipping is a viable strategy, but I wish that people were more receptive to killing the mobs. I’m not a very experienced dungeon runner, and I’m not great at skipping or avoiding aggro and it’s not much help when a groupmate just says “Okay, run through here.” I do my best to follow exactly what they do, but I’ve never made it through any dungeon without dying a couple of times. And if I have to go back to a waypoint, I can guarantee that I’m going to struggle to get back to the group.
I guess that I’m the kind of player that randomfightfan was talking about in his post above, and I feel awful about holding my party members back, but I’d like to experience dungeons just as much as any other player even though I’m not very good.
I suppose my point is that skipping is awesome, and I like being able to save time since it takes so many runs to get enough tokens for armor, etc. but I think it would be nice if more people would, in the event that one or more party member was really struggling with skipping, consider taking some time to clear some mobs to help them out.
Fortunately, I’ve always had parties that were very patient with me and others who had a hard time with the whole skipping thing. But there have been two or three occasions when someone gives up and leaves the party in the middle of the dungeon, and not only is that not fair to the other members trying their best to help us less-skilled players, but it also makes me feel extremely guilty for causing that person to flat up leave and for causing the rest of my party to be at a disadvantage.
That’s my two cents anyway.
Oh no….this is terrible news!
The sylvari surprised emote was my favorite, it was just too funny and so cute! I wonder why they changed it?
Hm…I find the constant boons kind of annoying. Especially with the sounds they make every time a new one activates plus the comments of my character. Although it is nice to occasionally get a speed boost when I’m just walking around, heh.
I use the Signet of Inspiration mesmer skill which grants a random boon every ten seconds. Well, this usually only activates when in combat, and then the boons stop once I return to a normal state. When I logged in yesterday though, boons started to be granted constantly, before I’d even entered combat and continuing after I’d left combat, for the entire time I was logged in. I tried re-logging, and un-equipping/re-equipping the skill, but nothing worked. As soon as I was back in game, or the signet was re-equipped, the boons would start and not stop.
Anyway, I submitted a bug report, but I was wondering if this was a problem all mesmers were having or if there’s something up with my particular character.
