Please welcome [SE] Side Effect, a large NA guild, to Tarnished Coast!
Welcome SE !!!!
Also, with regards to NA coverage. We are not discouraging anyone who wants to be part of our community to come here. But we do want to let you now that maps are getting queued during NA times larger groups may have trouble with some guild runs. I would say that this is until about 10PM server time so west coasters and late nighters will find very good action and fights.
We could use the most help from 3AM -11 AM server times.
As far as how things are I think we have done well with the recent growth. TC is about positive attitudes and letting people enjoy the game. Even those who are “for the fights” care enough about the server to support PPT and also to HoP maps to help out when called upon. We have been very lucky in that our new Toasters have been very willing to embrace the community. If you have a friend who just transferred here ask them how they feel they have been welcomed and treated.

This is mostly for Power necro builds but some things could have some effect on all necros:
1) That is Lich Form gets push back on cast not full (3 minute) cool down on interrupt
2) Axe 3 gives stability instead of retal maybe make the CD on it 18 sec instead of 15.
3) That AOE healing or any healing help either heal Life Force while necro is in death shroud, or, alternatively, heal the base health so that necros could be healed while in DS
There are other things but I would like to just post 3 things that I think could be feasibly programmed within the developers budget constraints and would provide good QOL for necros in WVW.

Tarnished coast will be great for both aspects WvW and for PVE. If you raid heroics GW2 is a real adjustment and will feel like tank and spank. But remember encounters can’t be built on the trinity since all classes heal and dps. So, once you realize that yu won’t feel cheated by encounters in GW2 for lack of mechanics. The questing experience is better.
WvW is epic and makes up for it. There are many guilds at Tarnished Coast (Garnished Toast) that will help you. Also, you can run with the militia and just join up with a tag to get your bearings

DN is where it is at great group.

FUNK is fun to run with I have followed them as I roamed. They are willing to fight. And they stick together. Glad to have them on TC!
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
arena net can’t seem to protect or manage them
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
TC is a good place for you guild and you would get the high end of t3 guild t2 and likely fight SoR and other T1. SoR is currently in a transition period so I think TC would be a good place to join with stability and a good community.
Based on your description i think your guild would find that it could make name for itself and fill out a niche. You would find militia willing to fight alongside of you or to leave your group to do its thing if it just wanted to run guild. Great communication between the leadership here.
You will find competent fighters at your side at TC.

Servers are all online and seem stable. No word on their twitter yet if the attacks have passed, but word elsewhere online seems to be that it has ended. Going to attempt to log in.
edit
Login successful. Forums running normal and up to speed. Seems clear to hop on again.
No, still problems

Thanks for the responses guys. El Cid was great running with you and the rest of our dedicated WvW’ers but sadly the my schedule never seemed to line up with NA prime. Good luck to you all and keep the Manvil Rock rolling strong! I have decided to give TC a shot. So far so good. Thanks again!
Welcome to the Toast!! thank for considering us. I hope you are having fun already. if you have been on this last 4 weeks here you are ecstatic because really great fights.

Karuna was pretty comprehensive, but just to go into a bit of detail in what your second question is concerned:
Also are there solid roaming guilds on TC?
I would say a great many 24/7, but it also depends upon the distinction between roaming and havoc. During Oceanic and SEA, all of our prominent guilds are basically glorified havocs of ~15 players and the situation often asks for them to split into roaming groups, and there are NA insomniacs from larger guilds like STUN who roam lots during Oceanic too. EU is another good time zone because lots of NA players belonging to large, hardcore WvWvW guilds log in early and roam together whenever there’s no large threat to answer to. During NA proper, they group up for prime time, but we have Cult, YOHO and TUNE, which I think would fit your definition of ‘serious roaming guild’ very well. And then we have havoc guilds (~10 players) such as DIS, FLUX and a handful of others whose numbers dwindle as the evening goes on and players in larger guilds who are assigned to scouting and roaming (NOPE has a particularly good roaming party I always found to be a pleasure to work with).
Hope that helps.
I would also add new joiners of GF, FUNK and Meat to that list
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
How are the servers TC goes up against roaming wise? Also are there solid roaming guilds on TC? Also why should I go to TC over BG my old server(on BP right now)?
A lot of opportunities in T2 match ups to find quality competition. During leagues we could find good roams against BG and SoR (no roaming coming from JQ) with some leaving SoR competing against them may have changed but I cannot speak to that since we have not matched up against them but have seen the ones that xferred to FA and SoS.
Right now T2 is the best WvW experience bar none. I think you can ask MaG SBI FA and SoS the fights are active and competitive. There are times when TC is outnumbered by groups from these servers but still take the field. Havoc is well organized and not just ganks but havocs and roams.
If you want a challenge come to TC if you want to be part of an overpopulated server and one of the masses BG or JQ but you will get your points there I just don’t think it will be as fun.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
T2 in NA has great roaming: our guild in TC often roams with 2-4 sometimes more and many times we solo roam. Solo roaming is definitely a lot harder but not impossible to do and still find 1v1 fights 2v2 or 3v3 4v4 etc.
I am partial to TC but SoS FA MaG all provide great roaming opportunities.
All of these also offer chances to zerg up if you want to join and I think all have competitive militias and command structures and experienced commanders in all types of fighting from havoc to blob from open field to siege.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
Tarnished Coast all the way. We have a little bit of everything as far as chances to play the game you and your guild like. People have fun here. We could use your help in your time zone. It is likely we are going to T1 for at least a few weeks. Overall we can fight competitively but just do no have the same type of coverage against T1. In T2 fights you would find good fights against balanced populations. You will enjoy the community here.

urieldhynne.2743, I completely understand your frustration. We would all love it if we could spend our time reading the forums and responding to feedback, but the reality of the situation is there are just not enough hours in the day to do that and develop the game, so we have to have a balance.
The Collaborative Development threads are a huuuuuuuge help for us to see what the consensus is from the community on the state of the game. It puts your feelings into 3 short suggestions that you would like to see implemented, which means we can read through them faster and get a better idea of how the majority is feeling.
I don’t mean to say that your efforts have gone unnoticed, because they haven’t. It just makes our lives much easier when your feedback is concise.
Uhm… Fix ability lag and abilities not going off and disconnects. Is that concise enough? Cause the game is getting harder to play and it is broken on the server end.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
Lately there has been high latency. This is a problem the devs need to address. This killed SWTOR and will cause players to get frustrated in a great game in GW2.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
TC misses you KH!!!
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
Good luck with your recruitment. This is a good guild and TC is a great home to have.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
Because of recent transfers to SoS, FA, SBI and a competitive MAG this server is probably in the most evenly competitive bracket of fights right now. You will find support if you join and the opportunity to do every kind of WvW fighting from havoc to roaming to zerg busting to blobbing. I think if you are defensive minded you will also find great support and would be appreciated. Militias here are treated with respect and good leaders are given room to break in to lead.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
necro needs an instant cast escape if the play and design continue along the lines they have been.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
Title speaks for itself. A 180 sec CD in exchange of a spammed interrupt is Bull kitten. And anyone who thinks otherwise should kitten in a fire.
And honestly for an elite it should be able to be a free cast ability!
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
I think you will like TC. Once leagues start you will also see that TC has a good reputation in fighting the other T1 servers. Anything that could add to coverage would be a plus for us.
Even guilds who have departed TC didn’t do so due to any drama and I would say would have good words to say about us and our community.
In WvW we have large group and roamer/havok groups. Fairly good coverage. Also the tier we fight in allows us to fight against servers that are likely to have roamers. There are some FA people starting to find a better fit at TC probably for the same reasons you are looking to leave FA.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
Hey Jonstern good to see [GLOB] again. I miss Yaks a bit. I think you will find good fights over this week from both servers you are facing. I think you ran into myself and a guildie on your way to Hills last night. We were the two [YOHO] tagged necros doing a little havoc/roaming.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
why are we comparing the skill of condi necros like the build even requires a functioning brain
Nah don’t need a brain to function just something else while I go Erp necro style. All those corpses of skilled players does something for me.

When are you going to implement this Anet? 100% agree and want.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
we do have actives in your time zone on Yaks Bend. This is also the time when we are in transition and most commanders are logging out, or, lately just grinding it out on and burning themselves out. You can get a good response if you provide leadership from the server and those who are on at that time.
North American Time zones pretty well covered and the ability to hand something off to work with. Various public TS channels and mumbles for use to help organize as well. check out yaksbend.com for info
edit: I guess I should add. If you are a commander here it will be your skills as a defensive organizer that will be tested. So, if you feel you are strong in that then you will probably have some great fun.

Yaks Bend has been in some of the most even matches for a month now.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
It is a great community. Fun people online. We have been blessed that our WvW success such as it is has been a result of the existing population. When there were Tiers we made it up to T3. We have been blessed in that we didn’t ahve rollercoaster but we have had to do WvW against many servers who got some population growth. AS a server we have grown in our skill cap in WvW.
We do have some Australians on but they need some company. Anyone from Hawaii to Tibet would be warmly welcomed in particular. Our biggest issue in WvW right now is coverage.
We do admire and try to learn from other servers.
I know that there are public Teamspeaks and Mumbles provided for Yaks Bend use. We have a server website to have a community interaction. The community website is a live one and the community is very engaged. As far as personality. we have personalities on the server. If there is friction or guild friction it is usually resolved within a couple of weeks because the community encourages everyone to settle things and people involved step up to do the right thing time in and time out. Any kind of shady or skecthy is generally not tolerated. We try to police ourselves and most active server members are adults.
I advise you to visit our web page and check it out.

Let’s be honest, the pugs didn’t push until I was balls-deep punting people off the cliff.
Sorry, usually I try to avoid going balls-deep into stacked group of 30+ people. Why they didn’t attack us? Is it some sort of training?
There were 20 at most, and they blew their wells a couple times before everyone pushed. They tried to bait people into wells and abuse AoE pressure, but failed to choke us well enough.
We had one group that got hit they said by unidentified siege between NW and garri. The other group that was is mostly condition and is usually set up by the first group. We only had 20 and one ac and had to cover a wider perimeter. Our other group was spawning and couldn’t get back to us in time. We were trying to hold till they got back—but it was a long run from an opposite spawn.
It was my fault sending the first group around and cutting them off. I took a risk trying to get the treb and mortar at NW. You probably saw a better fight from us at North camp. It seemed like we kept on getting wave after wave streaming through that gate (we guessed ressers pushing back into the fight).
Also, yes it was a training event. We run it Saturday nights.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
There once was a game with huge anticipation made off of a huge brand that people waited for years to play. this game was destroyed by its own makers.
Zergs are like the equivalent of premades in that other game’s PVP. Basically a group would farm everyone else for days and hours building up something like gear and WVW skill points and having a distinct advantage. Thsi advantage basicllay continued into perpetuity.
Then there were attempts to balance it but what happened was just like speed building superior arrow carts the premades benefitted even more. Why becuase they had a head start. And the change just liek arrw carts played right into their hands.
Arrow carts are gonna bury this game. Becuase a zerg can still zerg and leave 5 people not to zerg while those not able to zerg just get to choose on how they feed their opponents badges.

Enjoying the fights. /salute to both SoS and DB.

I have written your leader before through Enjin messaging. I also want to add this in the officiAl forums for your consideration.
I am Ajay Reckless one of the NA commanders on TOG at Yak’s Bend. TOG is a larger guild on the server does have a small group of about 8-10 Aussies that try and hold the line during SEA prime. About 7-15 others/pugs can be on the map and during this time you will find 2 experienced commanders even if they don’t have their tag on. Sometimes more people join but there is an ebb and flow of others but it is a morale issue. In our Tier we are up against 50-80 v 10. There has literally been people single manning BAY and wiping out siege until the enemy gets tired and builds 5 trebs against the guy. But that guy will still man his siege till its gone. If we had a consistent guild such as your you would probably find more hope in the time slot and more people rallying on the maps in your time zone.
We have a saying when overwhelmed’ “Be like a yak! Never give up!” Some great commanders are on Yak’s Bend and we work together through the Yak’s Bend Alliance to communicate plan and succeed. When things get tough we adapt our tactics. Yak’s Bend also has probably THE best reset of any server in the game. Check scores and ask other servers. We are also positive and respect our enemies and play fair.
If you do join you will be greeted like a hero because we are competitive and want to win. But you will be expected to be a team player and positive about our community.
A recruitment vid and a call to arms vid after we got run over for a month by the bandwagon servers.
Please note that after we got run over we rallied organized even harder and actually moved up to T3. Yak’s stick together. There is fantastic server loyalty.

Nice skirmishes with EB tonight in YBBL. A little bit of everything from EB. Open field fighting and even numbers about from both sides. Nice little stealth attack from Hills where it was us 4 swapping map sides protecting it against a small EB group. Then some reinforcements coem afetr the fight is over to help resiege.
EB then shows up with 2 golems on Bay.
The skirmish in front of Bay that started it all off was heck of a good time. /salute to EB
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
I left another game for this reason now it is free to play and still no one wants to play it. GW2 worked fine for me in WVW till latest patch if it isn’t fixed I promise you people will leave.
Anet don’t be like that other game company.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
Thanks for the fights. They were fun. Yaks Bend learned a lot and is working on many things right now. When we come back we will come back stronger. I think there will be an implementation of better group tactics.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
Last night was terrible. Did Yaks give up?
We went into YB BL last night and took the whole thing. Almost completely PvDoor.
Seriously? We had no recourse either…the other borderlands were full and to be honest didn’t look much better…
:(
I logged in to see all of EB painted. I was in YBBL. I spoke with a guildie who said we held for a bit and we had a good portion of the map. About 1am PST big fight in SE tower basically the entirety of the Yak’s pop was on there about 20-25. I run supply to help siege but SE camp now gone. I return to tower to see rams and catas on both walls.
We hunker down play out the fight. During that time about 80% of the map is gone. We start retaking camps 10 min later garrison ninjad. 5 minutes after that entire map painted a non-Yak’s color. Some stay I go do pug sPVP.
Swords help when smaller defenders are trying to move and cover maps. This change makes it more fun fro T1 and T2 but basically forces everyone else with a pop disadvantage to basically give up their map and sit and wait for garrison to be sieged. That’s not fun and it means no counterattacks.
I think the orange sword change needs to be refined further.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
The swords were important to help us move and cover with smaller groups. Last night we lost the whole map. What happened 20 of us (the only 20 on the map were defending SE tower on our BL). Why? Because there were 30 people in front of us with 2 rams and 4 catapults. During this time 80% of the map flipped. We break up to start taking camps only to look at map and find garrison is gone after that everything was wiped people logged out.
