what you does ring true in most aspects, but if they made it a dungeon sort of like fractals of the mist, but instead add more worlds and level, then i believe it will have staying power and would be a very successful venture

i was always a huge fan of the nightfall and faction campaign, i think arenanet should add some aspects of that to the game if not the continent campaigns then at least some of the classes and ethnicity of the faces to the human side….i applaud the little nod to it in the centaur/sister story but i think it should have a stronger presence in game. just my thoughts
