Ascii, I just want to tell you thank you very much for sharing this build. I got my Necro up to 80, and honestly…..no other class makes me have more fun in WvW than my Necro.
I’ve had extensive usage of my warrior, guardian, mesmer in WvW. But man….this Necro…OH MAH LAWD.

Ah. I was just asking and curious is all. True, Shatters cause more confusion in general. I guess I was just trying to apply it to my gameplay, and I’m not really much of a shatterer. So I was just wondering how the 5 per glamour would work.
Like, after it hits 5, is that it? You don’t hit anymore, whereas if you shatter, you hit more?
Also, in regards to shattering, i find my illusions to be all over the place. LOL, so I miss out on the initial burst.
what are your thoughts on replacing Illusionary Persona with Blinding Beffudlement? to stack a bit more blinds and cause Confusion in effect. Especially if you take Dazzling Glamours?

Btw, I have a dungeon build I retrait to if I ever enter a dungeon (phantasm build). Retraiting is cheap, fast and a must for a teamplayer.
Which would imply that you normally run a selfish non-teamplayer build? You never run around with other players outside dungeons? Always solo in WvW? Sounds dreadfully boring :/
Maybe its just me, but I always run a build that can support a group. Sometimes I boost my damage by equipping a berserker set and sometimes I boost my survivability by using more PVT. Just as it is for me, its probably a reason why people dont respec/retrait that often – having a good base build that can be modified with gear is easier and much faster (albeit more costly).
You ain’t the only one. Retraiting is annoying as hell.
Earthshaker is heavily telegraphed. If you can’t dodge, blame you’re subpar reaction time. As for skullcrack, you can always tell it’s coming when the warrior switches to the mace shield. pommel bash, into shield stun into skullcracker. if you’re not a dummy you’ll break it right after skull crack so that he will have wasted most of the stuns in the rotation. Or grab some defensive food, try melandru runes in a second set. I admit the current stun in 100b is cheesy, but there are more people here crying about it, rather than going out and practicing like alot of other people are and improving.
I guarantee that the meta will still be alive and kicking after sigil of para nerf and the skullcrack nerf, and people will continue to whine, and whine, and whine because they never tried to practice.

I hate retraiting. So I run whatever I run in WvW, in dungeons. Staff/scepter+torch or Staff/Sword+pistol or Staff/Sword+focus.
I’m pretty sure it’s all the bad players that complain about these stun warriors. We dueled good warriors using different stun setups and it wasn’t a big deal.
Both my mesmer buddies would kill them repeatedly in a 1v1. Does that make mesmers more OP that this “stun meta?” My non-stun warrior would take them down. Thief using doom sigils and poison on steal would demolish the warrior’s regen.
In a group fight two of us would focus these warriors and since they’re using healing signet they couldn’t outheal our burst and they died shortly after every single time. These warriors aren’t strong in a group fight compared to what they are supposed to counter (condition necro/engi meta). Necros can walk in and dump all this crap, have two life bars and an annoyingly long elite which is crazy against melee, buying them more time to heal and use their multiple health bars.
Necros > Warriors.

Here’s the counter to the supposed stun meta. Interrupts. The counter to the condition meta? Stuns. It’s all about counters and people should QQ less and play more and learn. Adaptation.
Lol no counter? Learn to Kite.
I’ve recently switched to Longbow/Hammer. Why? I couldn’t stand being kited on a Hammer/Mace+Shield
Heck, I might switch to the Dual Swords/Longbow Warrior. Why? Stunning is telegraphable. Meaning, you can see it, dodge it, kite. A Warrior can die if you focus on them. They’re not OP as most people seem to think they are. They’re finally well balanced.
Also lol@perma-stealth thieves being un counterable.
On my Mesmer, I can wreck Perma Stealth thieves as well as StunLOL Warriors. And I play a Warrior, just like I mentioned above.
Rock-Paper-Scissor.
It’s possible to get 100% crit chance and get all your hits to deal 150% dmg + critdmg multiplier.
I.E. my Warrior has 100% crit chance and 240% total crit dmg which means I always deal 2.4 times my normal damage.
There is no internal cooldown on critical hits themselves or their damage.
If you don’t mind me asking or at least showing how….would you explain what gear and traits you used to get to that amount?
Is that with food/oil as well?

I’m kind of uncomfortable with the low number of toughness in the build, I feel kind naked with out it. I have noticed I get focused on A LOT. LOL which is ridiculous, but what adjustments would you have, to make it a little more tanky?

Sensotix, I’m thinking of picking this up for more viability in sPvP and hopefully transition to tPvP with it. Right now, I’m using JPortell’s protection build, and it’s pretty good, at least for me anyway. But he’s right that, interrupts kill me especially since i’m dependent on mantras for my heals and condition removals. So I was thinking of transitioning to this build.
Can you give me pointers as to what to lead off with in a fight? A rough rotation and what to exactly use when you’re getting pressured badly in a defensive corner? Thanks man!
@Xaylin, that’s what I was thinking as well, as far as your thoughts on it’s possible deficiencies.
Hey JPort, just wanted to pick your brain out a bit more. I know I read that mesmers in general are in the low end of the totem pole in regards to tPvP.
I was thinking of using your build because I’ve had the most fun and most success with it. However, You did point out in Menace’s topic that the stealth escapability puts a liability on capping points. As well as heavily reliant on Mantras, when you get interrupted, you’re pretty much jacked.
So I guess what I’m trying to say is, would there be adjustments you’d make to make this particular build viable? And if so what are they? If not, should I be trying something else, like Sensotix’s confusion phantasm build?
I just tried this in sPvP. And I gotta say….this has been the most fun build I’ve had yet. xD It’s soo much assuming the frustration on the other players for not being able to kill me 1v4 ish. xD It’s sooo satisfying.
My mesmer was the 2nd easiest class to level, 2nd only to my Guardian.
I think that the Signet of Midnight is sorta useless you know, and trading it for Signet of Illusions won’t work out that well because you are not Shatter spec. Signet of Domination is only good for one use. Sure the 3 sec stun is great, but I just think that people can just break stun and run out of that hole. So if you were to get rid of those 2 signets, I don’t think other signets will be viable and thus it will not become a Signet build cause it only has one signet. I dont know. Dont take my words to heart you know. Peace…

My only real question is, how viable is the healing power stat in general? I’m coming back from a 6 month hiatus, so I’m not really sure what to make of the Healing Power stat in general, especially with Mesmers.
@pyro. I was talking about the majority, not just you pyro.
@Jportell. Yes i can see how you might kill lots of people. Good defense, condition, and healing. But I dont think it is good against stuff like the Condition Cat or other Condition Focused builds with lots of precision. My opinion only.

It helps if you play my build and you will realize it can kill anyone, no matter how much defense or condition damage they have.
