I haven’t played for several months, maybe last April.

I will try to leave the launcher some time, In the Gw2 folder it has downloaded lots of files named from “Gw2.001” to “Gw2.460” and even if now the download is at 0 kb/s I see that files in the folder are changing.

I guess it’ll take a while, thank you, hope it works.

Update: Thank you very much, the launcher is now updating and meanwhile I can login with my account, it’s just a matter of time and I’ll be able to play again.

I haven’t played the game in a while and the first thing that happens when I start Gw2.exe it starts downloading. I can’t see any buttons or options.

I tried to repair the game by adding -repair to the file but still it tries to update first, and gets stuck. I also tried to delete the Gw2.tmp file but nothing changed.

the download starts at full speed and when it reaches 11257 KB downloaded the speed gradually goes to zero KB/s and stops there. Help!

I allready have a firewall exception for Gw2 and my anti-virus is disabled.

(I enabled Q/A so that if anyone will have the same problem they can find the answer quickly)

I’m running Greatsword Sword/Pistol for WvW runs, i usually play zerg because i’m not geared yet but i don’t want to focus on zerg-based builds

my traits are 10-20-10-0-30

i want to deal decent damage with maybe some big numbers on Blurred Frenzy and Berzerker,

i recently turned lv80 and i’m stacking honor badges(actually i’m at 700 with like 100.000 karma)

to make my build i need to know which stats i should focus on and which i must not keep too low,

it’s my 1st character and i’d like to know what avarage crit% and crit damage i should go for and how much toughness/vitality i must keep to not die too fast

i’m not looking for orther’s builds because none of them fit my playstyle, most Gs+S/P aren’t even for wvw

umm, there isn’t any GSword & Sword/Pistol build for WvW, they don’t work well in WvW or what?

i use that and i like WvW so i wanted to learn more about my build but there isn’t any?

thank you, I hadn’t understood much the level boost in WvW, now it’s more clear, finally i know why it takes so much to kill anyone in 1v1

actually i’m leveling fast, we have some nice commanders that make me upgrade like 3-4 levels every evening

PS: i saw that in WvW in my zerg i get often boosts that say “+5 power when killing a foe, 25 max stacks”

can i use more of these? like +power, + precision, + regeneration

on Utility i don’t use veil (as shown) but i recently use very much Arcane Thievery
oh and, i go for WvW with this build.

I don’t know what stats to go for, lately i try stacking power and precision from armor (i’m lvl 58)

What i want from my build is to do decent damage, i saw on youtube a mesmer with my same build doing tons of damage with Shatter, Frenzy and Berzerker the same i don’t see on my build, sometimes i don’t even use F2 even with 3 clones because they do little to no damage…

i’m confused about this, he does 4500 with frenzy and i do 2200 max, 3000+ with berzerker, 1300 crit on shatter

i can just touch half of that damage, what do i miss? armor i suppose right?

if you can help me with some tips like “when you do this be carefull of that….” i would be grateful,

i’d like to see a kill after just berzerk +frenzy as he does

also, i see the guy on youtube uses often all his shatter skills, i don’t do it so much, please tell me also when to use those or how not to use them. Thank you

it can be done in sPvP, Ok, but don’t even try to touch WvW, the downed state is a part of the game, of classe’s specific abilities and also strategy (ever heard about “Illusion of Life” ?), and you can’t just ask to cut it out since It’s Not a Problem.

i’ve just tried WvW and i fighted a thief 1v1 while i have 17 traits spent, we fighted nice but my kite and cc build doesn’t do much damage and gives the thief too much time to regenerate, at last he won and i’m glad of this because i did my best and i suppose he did too

by now i’d like just to figure out if my friend thief will ever have a chance to beat me with his class without maybe making an anti-mesmer build just to beat me,

as we train we would like to be able to train both and not just me trying my 20 different ways to kill him

yeah this actually depends on how much the class attracts me.

Winning 4 out of 5 of your duels in sPvP at Rabbit level certainly isn’t going to send up any red flags to ArenaNet.

Here what i wanted to expose was the fact that a mesmer fighting an equally skilled thief(for ex.) wins like 80% or more of the duels (i’ve tried this with a friend) and actually i won 100% of the fights without even using distorsion, daze or elite skills

IMPORTANT: this thread speaks about my gaming experience and features questions about the mesmer class
i’m a lv33 mesmer (1st char) and i’m new to this game but not to mmorpg, i used to be a skilled enhance shaman on WoW, saying this just to let you know i’m new but not incompetent.
I dueled and spoke with all shamans i’ve met trying to learn something from each of them, in this way i mastered my knowledge of the class, allowing me to fight well anticlasses and groups of enemies.
I want to do the same with the mesmer because i feel it’s a very complete class with plenty skills and abilities allowing me to build lots of combinations,

but i want to earn my goals…

Recently i watched MrPrometheus’ guide on mesmers and following him i’m running a staff+sword/focus build 20/0/30/0/20, i think i use my skills quite well, i learned the combos with fields, leap+frenzy, blink while stun… summarizing i’m familiar with the class and the kite/hit&run build i’m running

…so i tried entering sPvP…

we did 2 duels, he won the 1st but i surprisely won the 2nd with a huge advantage, after that i’ve beaten another warrior, a guardian and an engineer

i though i was good untill i read that our class is hugely advantaged because of the “jack of all trades” title, we have something for everything and i noticed that too.

So now overcomes the repeatedly adjective about mesmers… “overpowered”, i hate this term so i like to define the mesmers’ class more “complete” than orther ones. i like this class very much for it’s variety and different gameplay styles and i wouldn’t remove anything from it, insead to balance things i’d work a bit more on orther classes.

now i have some orther questions as a new player:
1- when i got in WvW i saw that my level boosts to 80, but does my crappy gear(facing lvl 80 exotics) affect my playing or they get also buffed? (i’m asking because i see the stats buffed but when i put the cursor on my gear i still see the “48 armor, 12 power,+1% crit” and maybe a message that says “if you go nude you may trigger mercy…not”

2- does arena.net know about all these players complaining about this class?(i’m talking about serious people and not “L2P IDIOT, NerfNerfNerfNerfNerf”), and if it knows did it answer or make a post about it? i didn’t find anything around.

i’m asking all this because i don’t think i faced completely incompetent players and i’m pretty sure i’ve beaten them also because my class offers me some advantages
