It’s not even the lag that’s the biggest problem, I understand that happen and is hard to plan for. But did anyone bother to actually play through the mission in beta testing at least once before it was released? Anyone? Nobody bothered to notice that they have designed…and I use that word very loosely, an island that makes it more difficult to get to the event than the event itself? Nobody bothered to notice that if you die, and have to respawn at a waypoint…what waypoint? Back up at the North end of the island?

Beta testing, it’s an important concept. Use it. And yes, the first post is correct, we’re telling you these things, ANet, because we have seen what you are capable of creating and we have high expectations based on what you have done in the past. We play this game because you provide highly-polished, well-designed, professional maps and events, and we hope to continue to see that in the future.

Yeah, no waypoints near event, can’t find event, have to wander a long way from waypoint, through mazes with no clear direction, just to get to event. Got to the south shore where the event would have started, long after it left, couldn’t find a waypoint down there, fell of a cliff and died, had to go back to the beginning waypoint at the north part of the island.

I signed in a half an hour before the event, I wandered around until a half an hour after the event began. DId almost nothing, I physically explored a large portion of the map, but no waypoints. Plenty of dead ends and non-obvious ways past obstacles. Map is a complete nightmare in terms of game design: if getting to the battle is more complicated than fighting the battle, this is a design failure.

I finally just signed off in disgust. The Halloween event was fun. This event was not. Horrible planning, horrible design, if you want me to participate in an event at least allow me to participate in the event rather than telling me to wander around the island for half an hour.

If you haven’t gotten any waypoints on the region other than the main beginning one, don’t bother. It’s impossible to find the event and once you die you’re back to the beginning if you can even find it once. I gave up. Unplayable.
