@Knifesedge. I had the same problem, and also I have done everything i could… I wrote to Technical Support, and then they told me to uninstall " Relevant Knowledge" program. I have got win 8.1.
Check if it helps.

One more thing i forgot to say…
When i was downloading the game I noticed very strange thing- Downloading speed was SINUSOIDAL- it means, that once i had 100kbs and than 3mbs and again 100kbs in regular peroids.

How did You open ports and where are you from?? Today i was talking with my interned provider and he claimed that GW2 has very strange ports, and hes not supprised that Ive got a problem.

I’ve got common problem with connection to the game. Everytime I’m loggin to the game the error message appears and its code is 42:0:9001:4409.

I read your guide how to solve this problem, and I tried everything to fix this nevertheless nothing changed.

1) Turned off my firewall- X
2) Turned off my AVG- X
3) Changed DNS ip – X
4) WAITING- X

X means that nothing changed.

However when i tried to run diagnostic, i had another error while “discovering external adresses”.

Please support, try to help me.
