You can add me, but I am very quiet. Unless you step on toe I won’t squeak :-) I play with a daughter as well, but she is very competitive and like kicking kitten . I am the opposite, I like roaming about, doing events. Haven’t started dungeons yet or PvP. I will when I understood the game and got the best of PVE first. Then I’ll ask my guild or some other group to mentor me for dungeons and stuff. I have 5 lvl 80 and currently levelling a thief, again (now lvl 32) :-) I just love its challenge. I play them all to understand what makes each character tick.
So I just take it easy and I am enjoying the game. This month my boy will join us. We have another family (wife, husband and boy) playing as well.
Edit: I am no help for professional advice on the game. I just play it as it comes. I don’t even understand all the acronyms I see here. Who cares, I enjoy the game :-)

My Mesmer does not like chicken and only uses dual swords …. living on the edge :-)
Warriors S/S are not in bad n PVE. In fact they are excellent. I have one and nothing I cannot do in PVE. I event tank temples, except Grenth and Balthazar. The rest is piece of cake. Veterans and below die within seconds and I don’t even wait for them to die. I just let them bleed to death while I move to the next one.
Just gear up as you like and test it and test it. I don’t have berserker or soldier. I just geared to my play style and doing well thank you very much. I played almost all classes to understand how they play and how exploit their weakness. All to level 80.
if you read the forum for all classes you will find that people who cannot cope with the opponent will find something to complain about. Be it A guardian, a thief, a Mesmer etc.. just master your character and understand the opponent.
