Clearing the cache folder worked for me as well. I now have my news feed back in the client at startup.

I use Comodo Antivirus and by turning off it’s Auto-Sandbox did it for me. My Antivirus and Firewall are still intact. Its not A-Nets fault but the greasy slime that makes us run these security programs.

I find that the re-spawn times for monsters are much to quick. You find yourself battling those you just battled before you finish an area and it becomes quite difficult. Is this something that will subside over time. If not can it be tweaked.
