If you only PvP, what use would you have with gold?

u can sell it for $$$. Thats pretty much how most ppl made money of pvp in gw1. Selling Z-keys and gold.

If this game wouldnt be such a fail then this wouldnt be needed coz good players would make money from streaming, just like they do in sc2 or lol. Problem is on avrg at twitch around 200-250 ppl are watching all gw2 streams. Compare it to lol where 1 guy can get 20000-25000 ppl watching.

This is pretty funny actually. All this Thread ask is how would u rate gw2 pvp. OP did not ask why this game pvp is bad bla bla bla.

Thing is…

If game is bad – its bad and from 20 posts u get avrg score 4,3 / 10. If u think pvp is good then give it 10/10 (if u rly think its the score pvp deserve). Crying about ppl giving their personal opinion won’t make this game any better. Anyway no matter what we say here on forum it makes like 0,00001% difference on how they change the game anyway – honestly they dont give a kitten about random ppl writing random stuff. They know better anyway – thats why this game pvp is such a big e-sport – dont u think?

probably around 4/10.

Only good thing is combat, class balance overall is okay.

Bad side:
-conquest doesnt work as main game mode
-traits dont work when it comes to build making/game is 2 simple with not enough options that RLY matter.
-terrible to watch – huge clusterkitten on screen. (avrg ~200-300 viewers Gw2 vs ~40000-100000 viewers LoL)
-released without key e-sport elements.

WoW i rate 3/10, Aion 2/10, Gw1 around 8/10, LoL 9/10, Sc2 7/10

The game is clusterkitten, its bad to watch. Streams are pointless and so is depth in this game. Compared to games like sc2 and lol its just way 2 simple and control point gameplay is pure fail and not entertaining at all. Its fun for casuals but fun ends quick when there is nothing to go for. U had good base with gw1 but u scrap it all and made this dogkitten. Now its over – have fun with it.

I would also advise against using them, because in live tournaments, you won’t be able to use macros. So it makes little sense to learn “bad habbits” you’ll just have to retrain later.

I think after all this time there is only one thing that everybody can do that would RLY help

= Stop playing pvp=

If everyone would decide to quit pvp then probably anet game producers would wake up and maybe hire better developers and more programers to get this game going – coz its slowly drowning into oblivion with conquest mode as the biggest fail of the year.

yeah obs went at least 1.5 years after release.

They add observer in december game update after ~7-8 months from game release date.

Warriors were always Damage-Dealers, it didn’t matter if they had 1-2 or 2 different Skills that basically always tried to enhance his Damage-potential.

Monks were always Healers, it didn’t matter if they had Dark Escape or Shadow Return, the Warrior-Stances, or Mesmer-Skills or whatever, they always where either Mana-Management-oriented or gave the Monk itself more survivability.

There was time with backline hammer warrior – way less focused on dealing damage and much more stoping spikes and appply pressure on enemy frontline.

There was time when ppl run 3rd smiter monk – he did not heal, serverd as condition/hex removal + dmg.

Gw2 have few viable builds for each class but the main problem is that most of the skills are very flat and uninstresting. GW1 was all about making builds and finding synergy between skills – often creating stuff that even developers did not predict while creating game.

In GW2 there is no surprise or real choice – there are templates and u just play what they tell you. For some ppl its enough, but most competitive games are about creating interesting combinations – i honestly doubt gw2 got enough player choice to rly make the difference. We’ll see – so far its going down the hill to oblivion.

What do you hope for with the Dec. 14 patch?

I hope they import gw1 into gw2 graphics, balance all the skills and go from there. Im being as realistic as i can – that would be great christmas present.

I spoke of this on Friday, but let me reiterate.

We could have had rankings, but without tournaments or a way to get teams playing against each other in an organized fashion, they would have ranked…..nothing. Just the pub play matches. That’s why we wanted to set down a framework first, then add in the custom arenas (for practicing/developing organized matches) and rankings. Having rankings without tourneys or a matchmaking system literally wouldn’t do anything…you would just have rankings based on random pub matches where teams would be anything from 1-8 players. Seems bad to me. That’s why we made that decision.

It does but the problem is:
Why ship a game without its core features at all? I can understand that u decide to skip some unimport stuff and add it after release but missing core stuff is pretty much against all this “when it’s ready” mantra that Colin was saying on every interview at least few times. If PvE was finished and PvP was not, whoever is responsible for splitting work between those two should get fired, or at least admit his big mistakes.

People don’t realize or notice that its not 2005 or 2006 when u could ship an unfinished game and add a lot of stuff (only exception is if game is f2p), bcoz there are other titles and community will just quit and never come back – its especially visible if u look at MMO games. Guild Wars 2 thanks to finished PvE is considered good game, but in reality u dropped the ball so hard i doubt anyone will ever consider it as an e-sport title which is huge shame considering how good pvp in GW1 was from the start.

To sum it up:
It was worth my money to play pve in this game
It was not worth my money to play pvp in this game.

Problem is that there still is no ladder… its same kitten as free tournaments but with insane cost of 5 tickets u have to spend money to play vs good teams. Only way to get better is play vs better teams so at start u have to invest a lot to actually start winning. Whole philosophy to pay to play competitive is broken – honestly u cant make esport this way.
