Not sure why you are having this restriction. But there is an easy way around this. Just be a little inventive such as: Post a common item (of your choice) on the player auction, and charge 10g for it. Tell your kid what it is and instruct him to buy it!
I should add however, I don’t think it is the event that is bugged…only that the event ran into this bug. These respawning risen seem to roam about..I have seen them milling about sometimes not interfering with any event, and last week for instance they where in Wren camp when it was under attack, which rendered that event unbeatable..or at least unlikely to succeed. I walked away from that one:)
There are several ways to spot this endless respawning pack of Risen.
1. The group is always comprised of sugjagators, plaguebeares and purifiers.
2. When killed..they never drop loot, and they respawn quickly.
3. If you encounter them on their way to whatever destination they are heading to they will ignore you unless attacked.
4.They are usually in groups of 3-4 mobs..however once they reach their destination there can be as many as 12 – 14. If you fight them you will be fighting them for a looong time because their numbers are replaced rapidly.
5.They seem to have at least 2 spawn points, and if you find the spawn point you can actually see them drop from the air very rapidly if they are being killed elsewhere.
These spawns can usually be found on the plain between Wren Camp and Dwayna’s Temple. For the last three days they have been just north of the cliff where the chicken event happens. And for the last three days the Event: Escort the Troops to Followers Bridge: has been caught up in this endless battle against these respawning risen. I farm mats in Malchor’s quite a bit..and so I am there daily. I try to inform people when I see them engaged in this event which I fear will go on endlessly unless you fix it, thanks.
I agree with the OP on this. It’s actually really hard to believe that the designer of this added “Trapped” mechanic would somehow think the players would find this fun,
or entice us to fight the giant more often when in fact it is nothing if not frustrating to the extreme.
This “trapped” mechanic gives the player almost no time to react to the orange target appearing under their feet. It seems to trap mostly ranged players as I noticed if I ran close to the giant I didn’t see the trap target. But of course that is no escape from this, because the giants stomp sends you flying outward again…where you guessed it, before you even get up sometimes…bam “trapped” again.
I actually really enjoyed the giant the way he was, it was a fun fight. The only problem was that it took to long, almost the whole sandstorm. So players naturally would rather do several shorter encounters rather then one long one which lets face it, gave rather lack lustre loot. The only thing you needed to change was the length of time, reduce his HP…geez..what could be simpler. As it is now, I will never, ever, and I mean ever engage this giant again. Keep yer loot!
/Facepalm ..lol..I can’t believe I didn’t notice that the transmutation charges are account wide. Call me crazy but I was certain that one character had 6, another had 12 etc. But you can indeed put them in storage, either when you buy them from the gem store, or are rewarded them from zone completion etc.
Since the patch update I noticed that all my characters only have 2 (personal) transmutation charges each. The ones I had in storage are untouched.
To be honest I don’t know how many my characters used to have, but I do know that some of them had many more then 2. Is this a bug? Or perhaps you decided to take back the free ones you gave each new character? Retroactively?
Would like to know…thankyou.
MEGA-SERVERS: Good and bad.
The Good: I’m getting a lot more events done now, since even in a lower populated zone
there always seems to be a couple of people around that jump in and the event gets done. That’s great.
The Bad: However what this sometimes means is there are just too many people around. For instance, helping the Seraph in Harathi Hinterlands camps is fun and challenging with 6 or 7 other people, but over the weekend there were huge groups of 40 people which renders the event a non-event. No challenge, no fun. Extremely efficient sure, but defeats the purpose of it being a fun event. I can sight several more examples of there being just way too many people farming events or champ trains, but I think you get the point.
Not sure what you can do about it. On the one hand mega servers accomplish what I think you set out to do. That’s wonderful. But there is that downside..and its a big one. Hope you can address the huge amounts of people doing these events…zerging it is not that much fun..thanks.
