Been playing this from the start.
I use a shout thoughness/vitality build being almost indestructable.. This combined with “On my mark” and “Final Trust”.. I’m killing at a fast rate.
I still have to try Rampage on Skyhammer. It is a focus for me to use the machines on sPVP maps as defensive, so it might be useful. I agree on the long cooldown though, both the skills and the transformation itself.
Warriors all know that the current state of Rampage is a joke. The transformation is short, one-handed weapons have a higher output in dps(and more mobility) and the skills mostly seem aimed at creating gaps instead of closing them(making it more or less a debuff in pvp).
I’m probably not the first to complain about the current state of this ‘elite’. My apology’s.
I play a defensive warrior wielding a sword/shield – longbow combination. At this moment I’m running with Signet of Rage for it’s the only skill that actually makes any sense. Though I would like to have an elite that would be more defensive.
At the moment Rampage does this:
- Transforms you into a massive juggernaut for 18 seconds with a new set of skills(a basic hit, a kick which knocks back, a dash to close a gap, a throw a stone skill to knock down and something similar to stomp)
- Gives stability for 24 seconds
(By the way, during this transformation you can use most of these skill once, for they all seem to have quit a long cooldown)
What if rampage would be altered to do:
- Transforms you into a massive juggernaut for 18 seconds with your chosen weapon skills(effectively only turning you into a massive visual form)
- Gives stability for 18 seconds(the duration of the transformation)
- Gives you a different burst ability, not based on weapon but on transform.
Suggestion: kick, the skill/animation already present for the juggernaut, but altered. Creating a 1/2/3 sec knock down (not knock back) and debuffing the target with weakness for 5/10/15 seconds based on Adrenaline.
Cough I feel a little ‘this is sparta’ boiling up! cough
I wonder what your thoughts are on this suggestion?
Until then I will keep rolling with Signet of Rage.
The defensive skills you named could use a little tweak and testing here and there, but I definitly support this idea. I feel a bit silly being a defensive warrior and forced to once in a while try to burst someone for a few k dps. I would rather be able to survive longer and defend my position.
Since yesterday I’ve focussed on my personal story to finally complete it and the solo missions went smooth and fast. Although now I’m stuck at Victory or Death, the last stage where I need to venture into The Ruined city of Arah to complete my story.
The dungeon shouldn’t be a problem at all, but there are hardly any people to join you into this story mode dungeon. Since the story mode itself rewards almost nothing and people focus on the explorable mode I find myself stuck. Even with the help of a LFG website I’ve been spending 5 hours now whispering everyone if they want to join. It’s quite frustration. I do get that at the start/launch of GW2 this should not be problem but as the game moves on and more and more people reach 80 and have already cleared the story mode, the new players will get stuck on finding a group unless some friends want to tag along.
Could there be a solution to this problem? Maybe turning it into a solo-instance like the other parts of the personal story? Or make the explorable mode sufficient to completing the story?
In another note. If you’re looking for someone too to complete the last part, hit me up. Charactername: Rev Bloodslug.
Kind regards.
