Just got the Mistward Legguards.
When I first saw them I started really looking forwards to using them on my currently leveling Revenant, when he reached 80.
So I used my newly done Reaper to get the EXP needed to buy the last part from the Exalted. Fought through the battle of that giant golden city. Got the parts. Unlocked the legguards. Put them in the bank. Relogged my Revenant and..! You guessed it! (Probably from the title, you little cheat…) SOULBOUND to a different character!

Is this an oversight? A sadly mistaken “good idea”—? Or are the conspiracy-types claiming that everything A-net does is to make us buy more gems on to something here?

So my inventory and bank are cluttered with old exotic gear that I won’t ever use again, and can’t do anything with (’cept deleting ofc -.-), and that got me thinking – What is the point of not being able to salvage and/or use karma (and other) items in the Mystic Forge?
This seems like (Yet another…) completely senseless restriction. If it is because these items are very cheap, and thus might ruin the in-game economy, if used to make items that you can sell on the TP – Just make them more expensive..! Or make it so that they can only be salvaged into stuff like ectoplasm…
Why does karma even exist in the game, if the stuff you buy with it, is not as valid as with gold, or simply crafted?
Did the devs regret making the karma-system and thus turned it into something only used for a few skins, and components for lengendaries?

If you think this thread is about me crying over Moa Form, you should probably just go away – You most likely wont be able to contribute in any way.

And some of you say its bad..? How is turning a 5v5 into a 5v4 not good? How is it not beneficial to turn someone defending a point into a Moa?

Sure you can run away, but thats not really a good way to earn points for your team. . .
And when you beat a mesmer, who has turned you into a Moa, you know you found someone, who had no clue what a keyboard was…

What I don’t get about most of these comments, is that you guys seem to defend the skill, while still saying its bad… If its bad, then how about trying to come up with a way to make it valid, while still not OP?

In seriousness though, even if you kill your opponent in moa. So what? He’s coming back in 10s while you’re on two and a half to three minutes cd.

Then why ever kill somone? They just pop right back up!
A lot of people, including myself, do not thing Moa form has any room in PvP. The skill is simply too good.
All I’m trying to do here, is propose a change to the skill that makes it less so.
The idea of stopping an opponent without instantly winning a team-fight sounds much more appealing to me, then a skill that you use, if you want a free win.

It could cancel a Lich-form, stop someone from safe-stomping etc. Generally stop someone else, form doing what they want in a pinch.

It seems like most ppl agree that Moa Form is too OP in PvP…
But what if instead of just turning the target into a Moa, the mesmer would also turn into one?

Personally I think it would add a very tactical aspect to the Mesmer, while making the ability less OP.

Any thoughts?

Fear is CC, so let’s not even go there.

Over CC-ing is the same as a Mesmer using Moa, in a 1v1 – It’s just plain dumb.
It removes any skill (Save perhaps from the amount of skill it takes, to remember a rotation…) because you can basically juggle your opponent.
I’m even beginning to see unblockable knockbacks (Not sure if from engi, or warr), which makes stability the only counter to a knockback – And unless I’m miss-remembering, knockbacks almost always have a shorter CD than stability skills.
If it were possible to make reliable perma-stability speccs, I’d see CC as less of and issue, but that would also make the game less responsive…
I truly and firmly believe that Engineers and Necromancers suffer from the devs being unable to balance them probably, thus making them either under- or overpowered (Depending on their specc).

I’d love to see this game getting a lot of its CC removed, or maybe have diminishing returns on the skills, so that you become immune to similar skills, once you’ve been hit by it enough.

I play a 2/0/6/6/0 build (turret knock-back/force field/buffs) I do almost no damage.
The main goal of my build is to do knock-backs and CC, with area heals/buffs for my team. Can I decap and hold a point vrs 3 people? Yes… does that make me OP? … big NO..

Then you are a part of the current problem with PvP… A CC-centered build was NEVER a good idea… It’s poor game-design and only serves to take the actual fighting out of the fight.

There is way too much CC in this game, and people who develop builds around it, are just trying to make their opponents rage-quit.

While I get that telling people to shut up, isn’t the nicest way of doing things, I don’t see how it makes sense that I have to tiptoe around the place out of fear of a 4+feeder v 5.

If he truly have spent all his patience losing matches, he must have played enough to know that he can’t know what happens, if he isn’t there – And that you can’t just solo-queue and expect to boss your team around, while you idle at a point… People who team-queue use TeamSpeak (I hope!) or something similar, and therefore have superior coordination, compared to someone who has to type.

Need a better way to report people.

I just finished a ranked game, in which a random team-“mate” chose to feed and AFK, because he got angry.

Let me tell you how it happened:

Myself and 2 other guild-mate queued up as a 3-man pre-made, and so get 2 randoms.
We got the map “Temple of the Silent Storm”, and even though it was a close match, we were winning quite obviously.
When Tranquility was up, almost the entire enemy team was down there, and I tried to stop them – Which resulted in me simple slowing them down.
Now this did not please one of our randoms, who proceeded to write “Thx for ignoring buffs”. To this I replied “Dude – Shut. Up.” (He really hadn’t done much the entire match, and I got kinda annoyed, by that comment.).
After that little exchange he got quite cross, and began using an wide assortment of slurs. He also figured that going AFK was not enough, no – He needed to start feeding.

During all of this he vent keyboard-warrior-mode, while the rest of the team was now losing a 4v5 where the enemies got 5 free points every time he respawned.

I get that this sort of behavior is unavoidable in an online game, but after both AFK’ing, feeding AND being a general jerk, all my team and I could do was to report him for “Verbal Abuse” . . .

Why are we not able to report someone for ruining a perfectly good 5v5? He solo-queues and then deliberately throws the match, ruining it for 4 other people, and we can do nothing about it? That does not seem like something that will breed a healthy community.

Hi!

I’m new to the ranger class, but felt like making one, after seeing an amazing Ranger vs. Thief duel in OS.

Now I realize I can go through the forum pages to find a build similar to what I’m looking for, but since I’m new to the class and dec. 10 had some big changes for a lot of classes, I figured it’d be a good idea to make my own thread

What I’m looking for is a tankish sword/torch focused build, that relies on condi dmg, and a high dps pet (I’m thinking panther).
I imagine the tankyness would come form good toughness and a lot of dodging.

Any help would be most appreciated!

You can make a power build that focuses on wells and DS?
Like get the trait that makes wells ground target and then the 50% more crit chance in DS…

Since you only need to spent 10 pints to get the wells use ground target, you can still have a good DS-power build for 1v1.

Since other classes have a little thing called cooldown?
I know we have on our utilities as well, but between cloak and dagger and blinding powder, we can stealth a lot more… If I’m not mistaken Revealed was introduced to counter Claok and Dagger spammers…

I truly think a big flaw with the Thief class is that we use combo-points – It’s seemingly too difficult to balance.

If we could heal ourselves while in Death Shroud, the only thing I would be missing, to have my dream-specc would be the ability to heal allies with our Siphoning abilities…

Imagine a power/crit DS build focused around siphoning health and healing yourself and allies with it… It would be like giving yourself and allies a second Regen – Amazing for any group if you ask me.

It seems to me that Anet wants the Necro to be sort of active and “aggressive” in their defense – Which in my opinion is rather fitting, taking into account that the “Necromancer” in Guildwars 2 is more of a “Plague Caster” than a conjurer of the dead.

Therefore I though that if the skill “Chilling Darkness” (Blinding a target will also apply Chill) also worked the other way (Chilling a target also applies Blind), we’d have quite a potent defense, while sticking to the theme of debilitating our enemy instead of going all Guardian and rely on Boons.

Does this seem over-powered? The two conditions do have the rather annoying (For the enemy at least) synergy that blind (Used properly) will basically nullify any attack, while Chill will increase the cool-down of said attack – Which can probably be rather devastating in the right situation.

On another note, I believe I heard a rumor somewhere that Anet wanted to rework some of the Necro’s weapon-skills (May have been wishful thinking, on the rumor-spreading party’s part though…), and if that is the case I was thinking that for example they could remove the retaliation effect on Unholy Feast (Axe 3) and added a Chill effect instead, this could all be quite interesting… Thoughts?

I’d say a condition build… But for the fight in general – It became a lot easier for me, when I made sure to pick up the meat before the dog, while killing the dog before the guy… The dog gets a really powerful jump/charge attack (after the dude is dead) which is really annoying to deal with.

Please note that this isn’t me bi*ching about the DS hp changes, but rather me giving A-net a bit of feedback since I do not agree with the DS change.

Since the DS had it’s HP amount buffed, but had its “Insta-kill” effect removed, I feel the necro has become too vulnerable. It seems like PvE-Necros got nerfed just so that Necros could no longer cheat the god of fall damage.

While I found my gravity-proof shadow-form hilarious, I get that it was a problem, but that we are now left without a way of completely negating an attack when our stamina is out, I no longer see a reason to use the Necro for anything else than spamming conditions.

So I shall take my leave of the class, and wait for the day we get a shield or some sort of blocking ability.

Just my two cents.

My issue with alliances.

As it says in the title, I have an issue with two servers joining up against one.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love that they are able to, even if I’m on the server being
ganged up against. However in my opinion, there is one problem; supply-starvation.

I’ve attached a screenshot of something that happened last night, and as you can see,
the enemy servers held everything save from our keep (I think they are called).
The opposing servers played it safe, and attacked us from two sides, thus splitting our forces (Please note that up till this point, I loved the whole thing). Then I noticed that the enemies couldn’t take us, while we still had supplies, but being grossly out manned, we couldn’t restock on supplies, so the two servers ganging up on us (Thus vastly outnumbering us) simply had to play the waiting game, until we ran out of supplies, spent on repairing walls. When this happened all we could do was to watch and die, or run, as (probably) hundreds of enemies flooded our keep, and brought down our lord.

In my opinion the war-camp (Or whatever the place you spawn, is called) should also produce supplies (although at a lesser pace than the supply camps), so a thing like this could be prevented. I liked how we had to face really bad odds, bit the simple truth was that we could do nothing to prevent losing the keep, since there simply weren’t enough of us, to defend AND assault supply camps at the same time.

Twice now I have experienced a bug that made me lose in-game “currency”.

The first time, I right-clicked on a Priory focus (The rare once I don’t remember the name), and somehow the Greatsword beneath it got bought :S That’s about 5 gold gone.

Earlier today I wanted to buy some Nightmare gloves for my Thief, and because the “Heavy Armor” tag, wasn’t red, I didn’t notice it, and bought the wrong ones -.-

Is there any way to get an ingame “refund” for things like this? I reported both incidents as bugs, but even though the Greatsword thing was about a month ago, I haven’t heard anything from A-Net (I get that they are busy, but still :P).
What can one do to “apply” for a refund?

I’m looking for an all around build (Useful in PvP and PvE alike) with quite high damage, using a staff and Axe/?.

I know this sounds like I just want a god-build that will own everything, but of course compromises are expected

I’m pretty rusty as a Necro, and don’t know too much about builds, and that I why I would like you guys to help me out

Thats the thing then, isent it? If you hardly ever get interrupted in PvP, would it really be OP to make it uninterruptible? The few times I’ve used it PvP, when I didn’t land it, it was because people dodged it.

Can someone please explain to me why the hammer burst-skill Earthshaker is interruptible? Is it misunderstood PvP balance? An oversight?

In my opinion it makes no sense that it is interruptible when it is so easy to dodge.
I don’t PvP all that much, and don’t know if this is a problem in a PvP envirenment, but when running dungeons, I get interrupted mid-air way too often.
I really like the hammer for its crowd-control abilities, but its faulty burst-skill makes it quite a hassle.

should be removed from thief… other classes dont get anything this nice. Its guaranteed to get you the stomp no matter what.

Personally I use Ruinmaker (LvL 80 Exotic Power, precision, condition) which is the biggest pistol I’ve found… But my favorite skin is the Pact Pistol.
