Not super familiar with damage scaling on the rev yet, so i’ll ask you.. How well does Mallyx work in Zerker gear? I figured something like sinister would benefit the heavy condi application of the stance, but if I can keep my zerker gear on and perform comfortably then I will probably give this a shot!

Didn’t notice this too much on my sylvari, but the asura one is quite “squinty”. probably because they default to have such enormous eyes.

Try messing with the “Ear Tip shape” and the other one… ear width… thickness… something like that… I don’t remember off hand… lol. but those two sliders change the existing ears quite a bit.

I don’t have a female asura, but my male asura has something very similar. just pick one of the shorter ears and change the width to super small and the tip shape to point outwards instead of down, then adjust the length. you should get really close to this, if not spot on.

Hope this helps!!

Halloween for me. Probably on that Rev since all that glorious xp can be put to use. now I just have to decide if my rev will be a kitty, or a tree…. ugh… so many choices.

herald is goingto be in a particularly nasty spot for two reasons however:

we don’t have a chance to get the bonus points everyone else does

our big mechanical change is Legendary Dragon Stance. guess what happens if you equip it? you lose all your utilities, since utilities on Rev are tied to stance, we need to buy a heal, three utilities and the elite just to have access to a utility bar AT ALL.

for 60 points all other classes gain a weapon and mechanic, and in return lose a traitline. Heralds gain a weapon and lose a traitline, and if they try to use their mechanic they lose their utilities until they get more points.

it’s like if reapers had to spend hero points to unlock each individual reaper shroud skill.

Sure we get that chance. just do personal story or some map completion? it’s still there, Revenants can access that content same as everyone else. Does mean no maguuma on day one, but that is exactly why I haven’t saved up a ton of tomes for mine. figured I have to get him to 80, might as well do some maps and the personal story that way I have some HP to spare.

Remember when that other game we don’t mention started allowing players to instantly have lvl 90 characters? and everyone hated those players because they had no idea how to play that class, yet were instantly max level? I feel like tome-ing a rev to 80 will only cause these issues. I am choosing to level him the old fashioned way.

Your second point is fair though. I don’t know that it is overwhelmingly disparaging, but it is going to be tough. Herald might not be something I use until I get all the skills unlocked, where as the others can be used piecemeal since you can feed of the old utilities. I’ll give you this one.

EDIT: Wait… you could just not equip Glint as your legend, but take the herald line for the shield as a start… I think I’m calling this one a bit of a stalemate. you could still be a herald with Shir/mal for instance.

Is anyone not going to run herald?

I was doing pretty good standing my ground on not playing revenant at all…

That was… until I saw what the Herald skills were like. Yeah… my guard, warrior, thief and necro all cried out at once when I played with the skill creator.

Glint/jalis build here I come. puts on blindfold guess I need to get ready for this weekend

For my Norn necro, I’m really looking forward to the Nevermore staff. I know it will likely be extremely popular… but he worships raven, and I have been saving up for the avian skull shoulders for so long I can’t turn back now… lol.

and when he can use a greatsword, He’ll be rocking the Jotun sword. it looks pretty “norny” while also having a nice chill effect on the blade!

I really would love to see the hunt for the book return. That back piece was so sexy, and I was devastated when I accidentally deleted the character that had it (meant to move it to the bank for transmute purposes…. -_-)

But missing old skins aside, I really enjoyed that quest and would love to see it again!

That machine looks pretty good. You’re right though, you never really know what they’re giving you. But i guess the same could be said about the quality of the parts you order when you buy them separately. but oh well. I’ll have to look into what places charge for putting the machine together if i supply the parts. I hadn’t really considered that.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will look into it. =]

I apologize if this is covered somewhere on here, but i flipped though about 54 pages without finding anything that really answers my question, so i thought i would go ahead and put something up.

I am currently playing the game on a 2011 macbook pro. I have been lucky and haven’t had too many issues getting the game to play, but lately i have seen my fps getting worse and worse, and it is clear that it is time to get a new computer.

I don’t really have the time, patience, or know-how to build my own computer at this moment, and don’t have any kind of starting point, so i wanted to ask if anyone knew of something over the counter i could pick up that would run the game with decent settings. I’m not demanding 60fps in wvwvw, but right now i’m barely pulling in 20 fps in dungeons.

Budget wise i’m looking for something in the neighborhood of $700.00 but would be willing to go up to about $1000.00.

As an additional note, i know that the consensus of the forums is that building your own computer is usually cheaper and you can get a better system for your dollars, but learning the components and dealing with the stress of building and troubleshooting is just not appealing to me at this point. So i would like to stick with something out of the box that has potential to be upgraded down the road when i feel ready to take that on.

i appreciate any help you are able to give me.
Thank you!

Ascended armor for an average player

in Guardian

I’d say go zerker, work best for PvE and if you want to hop in WvW, use knight/soldier trinket with different trait. Even in WvW having a couple zerker gear is very nice, and with the trinket/trait, you can still get 3k armor and 18k health.

If i may, Is there a significant difference between full zerker armor with knight/soldier trinkets vs knight/soldier armor and zerker trinkets?

i have been a pvt/AH guard for about 5 months while learning the class and learning all the dungeons on him, and taking him into fractals, and i am contemplating some of the other builds i’ve seen now that i feel i am ready. I haven’t picked up either of the ascended recipes for the armor, but i am not sure which to commit to. I saw how the jump to zerker gear improved my warrior, and i’m not questioning that, but in my eyes, the guard is a different class and should be approached differently because of this.
