While we never like to rush and make snap decisions, in particular with a game that’s basically been out less than three days; I think there are some fair points in here for us to discuss. Much like other feedback about HoT, we’ll be discussing this as well!
Thank you Colin for this comment. I hope you guys can make a more final response to this whole issue soon. As it is, people like me are stuck in limbo, not knowing whether we should request a refund for Heart of Thorns or not.
I don’t mean to say this as a childish threat, but as an honest plea for straight answers. I’m perfectly fine with ArenaNet standing up for the game as they designed it, if that’s what they decide to do. My only problem is that the design isn’t what I thought I was buying.
Some background to my situation: I am a casual player that spends something like 4-5 hours per week playing Guild Wars 2. I almost exclusively play WvW, and I’m mostly solo roaming. It’s fun, and I think it’s a great game. But I have other things to do with my time as well.
My one incentive for purchaing Heart of Thorns was to play with the elite specializations. It’s not until after purchasing Heart of Thorns that I realize that I will need to earn a lot of Hero Points until I can actually play them. After spending a couple of hours in the new PVE maps — and they’re really gorgeous maps — my conclusion is that the elite specializations are probably months away, given my casual nature.
I hope by this explanation it is obvious that, to me, Heart of Thorns is not good value for the money.
Please let us know what the reply is, horaxx, if you try to request a refund. I would consider it too, for pretty much the same reasons as you.
If I’m not mistaken… It’s the only on-dodge trait that triggers while out of combat. Things like Engi’s dropping bombs, Rangers getting protection or Warrior’s damaging foes only happens when they’re in combat. Seems weird that ours happens both in and out of it.
The Thief trait Uncatchable also triggers out of combat, so Mark of Evasion is not the only one. (The wiki entry on Uncatchable even states that is the only one to trigger out of combat! :P)
I too would very much like to see both changed to in combat only.
I know it’s almost a year now until next Wintersday event, but I’m starting my wishlist early: can we please-please-please have a pistol version of the pop gun skin!?
I absolutely love the popping sound effect of that skin for the rifle, and I’m just heartbroken to find out there is no pistol version of the skin! How can that be!?
For those of you who haven’t heard the sound effect of the pop gun skin can check it out on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Umv683Q1lQY
Thanks ArenaNet!
I haven’t been able to use the TP for a couple of weeks now, it might have been the May 20 update that triggered the problem this time. I have had lots of problems with the TP not working in the past as well, but it has always came back after a few days.
Is anyone else unable to accesss the TP? Any ideas how to fix it?
Using the gw2buildcraft.com calculator, the highest I could get was 3030 Condition Damage, which would give 194 damage per bleed tick.
Note that the link does not include the 25 stacks of Might and the 25 stacks of Minor Corruption, so the number there is not the maximum.
