It’s not in the trait tooltip, but I think Ankle Shots is actually increasing pistol range to 1050 (showing up in the pistol skill tooltips too). Would need to test to be sure; at work now.
True !!! Just tested and yes, my 1050 of range come back, for Shadow Shot it’s 1200.

Any one have this concern and any one think this may not be a down side if our elite specialization focuses on range DPS?
I’m so excited, 50 bucks for see the screen to recover traits removed from core game, to enlarge my Pistol shot range, and to have again my bouncing bullets.
And Hot will be released in…. Ok so we lose an entire weapon set efficiency and we will recover it … soon… someday… ETA still not announced.

I can’t understand this decision.
Dual Pistol is the most underused weapons set for thieves.
Why ? because it is weak compared to the others weapons set.
No stealth, no escape, no shadow step, very low synergy.
The auto-attack has a low rate of fire, low dps (even the bow is upper).
You put bleeding, but it doesn’t matter because you play Direct Damage with P/P.
So why we play with them ?
Because this is the only alternative for AOE damage after the bow (with ricochet) and the most important thing … the FUN !
How much of us spent humongous time and gold to reach Aetherized weapons skin to look like six shots, to make a western cowboy playstyle !!
Or how much to craft a legendary pistol, maybe two before duplicate skin update.
Why no communication about this deletion ?
Rumor says you could put it into Elite Specialization… with the incoming rifle.
I hope it is not the truth… Because remove original content from the core game, to put into a DLC who costs the same price that the core game and force buy… this is a disgrace.
And what about Ankle Shots ?? Seriously, now the 10% damage modifier with pistol only trigger on target who suffers a cripple… is this a joke ?
Well direct damage from pistol is completly gone…
And in the same time, you put this new trait “Pressure Striking” → Ennemies you interrupt are inflicted with 3 stacks of torment for 5 sec" WITHOUT CD….
It’s just a nonsense.
If I remember correct, Superior Rune of Perplexity did the same thing on interrupt with Confusion, with no CD… and get nerfed (deservedly) with a internal CD of 15 sec.
So what, Unload is OP, but spam “Head Shot” to stack torment is ok ??
Seriously Anet, stop balancing the game with an axe.

I always feel frustrated after an incomplete update, and now my frustration is top since few months.

I play my thief with P/P, specially in Fractal HL, with a:
25: -VI-X
30: -V-IX-XI
0:
0:
15: -IV
With Assassin and Agility Signet, unload hits for 10K (without might)
under 50% foe’s heatlh: 12K
With 12 stack of might: 14K
(of course depending Foe’s Armor)
With “Opportunist”, I can unload 5-6 times in a row, and after auto attack 3-4 times, and Unload again and again.
60K Damage within ~20 sec, is not bad IMO.
With a 20% chance projectile finisher, and 8 bullets / unload, you have a good sinergy with Elem combo field or Mesmer (confusion into Ethereal field), or your own combo field with Smock Screen. (blind baby blind)
And the most important, the Pistolero Style is awesome <3
Before Hotfix, all is OK
After Hotfix, I can’t enter in any dungeon without a crash game.
Otherwise, glad to see how the cash shop works well…
