So why do people complain about gambling in the Black Lion Chests and how it isn’t worth it since keys and the boxes cost a lot combined, but then proceed to vote for Kiel?
Maybe I’m just not getting it, maybe everybody’s opinion decided to shift while I was gone. I honestly don’t know though. SOMEBODY tell me.
They showed up at Southsun. Found out there was nothing really to do there, and then left.
yeah, before May 14th.
Don’t listen to the underlevelled QQ’ers, pal. They’re just b8’ing you.
How should I trait my guardian for levelling?
As a Thief player since December, this wouldn’t be good at all.
Remove a really good damage tool for a fire debuff and worse damage? I don’t really think I could do D/D anymore. I like heartseeker, but this could be applied to other skills or traits.
Now Searing Venoms actually sounds kinda cool. Every time you use a poison it has a chance to put burning on a target on hit? That’s pretty cool. (I know that’s not how it is but lolbalance)
Just sharing an experience I had. I have 3 level 80 toons, 2 of them are at FOTM scale 39+. I’ve also earned the Dungeon Master title and do daily random dungeon runs mostly with my guild but sometimes with a pug party. I’d like to think I’m not an elitist MOST of the time and in all my daily runs I’ve only ever initiated a kick once and it was not due to gear issues or “noob” behavior but simply because the player went afk at a crucial time (at the arm seals in a 30+ fractal) without any logical explanation.
So today I went with my fairly new but fully zerk-geared mesmer to my first COF p1 speed run with a pug group. I’ve done COF p1 countless times before, most of them with my guildmates. And yesterday I joined a “casual” speed farming pug group with my mesmer (had 1 ele and later 1 guard, not full zerk) that did well (did 1 run in an average of 15min). But the group I joined today was one of those elitist groups that wanted 4 zerk warriors and 1 zerk mesmer and demanded that we ping our gears. We finished 1 run in about 10min. I THOUGHT I did everything right including blink-porting them through the boulders (on my first try). Then after the run I got kicked. I asked two of them why. Only one of them was kind enough to reply and tell me what I should have done. He said I “didn’t pull the slave driver into the wall and didn’t time-warp fast enough”. Also I cast feedback late at the turrets (apparently they didn’t notice I cast Phantasmal warden before casting feedback). Other than that I did everything right, he said.
I am astonished at the level of elitism in the GW2 community now. And especially because from what I was told I only made minor errors that I could have easily changed. I’ve tolerated much worse mistakes from other players without raging or kicking. Wouldn’t it have been easier to tell me what I did wrong than risk getting a less experienced mesmer on the next run? Or is it really just easier to initiate a kick?
You’re better off staying far away from toxic runs, especially groups that ask for gear pinging, 4 war/1 mes groups. It isn’t that it’s elitist, moreso just think of yourself as having more skill because you bring more to a group than just all DPS and no survivability.
you gotta read item descriptions, man. Unique in ANY game usually only means one can be worn at a time.
if you infuse it, that’s a whole different story.
XP utility infusion for the win.
More skill points = more superior siege, or more skill points to convert into gold.
Made about 20 gold this past weekend off of skill points from WvW alone. Not as good as if I spent the whole time playing Trade Post PvP or PvE, but at least I got to do something I enjoy doing.
Gold off of skillpoints?
Teach me please.
Every day I choose my dailies, and I complete them, I always have some left over that I want to do, but I won’t get a reward for them (other than XP). Personally, I think that if you do ALL of the dailies, you get an extra laurel on top of the one you got from doing just the 5 chosen(so 2 laurels per day, if you finish every category).
And with the monthly, if you fully complete all of the monthly categories, on top of the 10 you got for doing the 4 chosen categories you can get five more for completing the whole monthly section.
Those are just my thoughts on that system, I don’t think they’re perfect or anything, just thought I’d throw that out there.
I love the ability and all that it does. But I have to use HiS because I use Hidden Killer and that 100% crit in stealth is just too good to pass up.
Good riddance. Nerf Thieves into the ground so they no longer become the “go to” option for any sort of PvP. Then, after everyone has given up and goes off to learn a real class, slowly bring them back. Don’t even mention it in patch updates, just bring them back to their former glory and let the worthy players take notice.
An example of such a nerf could be +50% damage taken while stealthed.
People aren’t mad at individual thieves, a solo 1v1 with a thief usually ends in victory/ you run away with your tail between your legs, my point being the class IS NOT OP. People are mad at the HOARD of thieves, it’s a profession that works too well when you get heaps of them together. A multiple thief burst will kill anyone straight up, as well as the combined stealth capabilities. Thief works great, and is well balanced… When there’s one… But there is never just ONE.Now about your shot at Elementalists, I advise that you take your own advice and actually play the class. Burst healing is all we got, sorry we don’t just keel over after you CnD + Mug + Backstab + Heartseeker Spam.
Let alone the irony of stating that another profession should dare be able to escape, yet play one that can ALWAYS retreat. Yes, yes invisibility is not invincibility but to argue that stealth isn’t the best escape tool in the game is foolish.I personally think thief needs a buff in the dungeon department. Because really, other than Shadow Refuge it brings nothing extra to the party that a warrior can’t do better.
LOLOLOLOL
You think I use CND and mug?
You don’t know what my sides are going through right now, that build is so mediocre and requires no skill… I actually like builds that stay out of stealth so the person I’m fighting can actually have a fighting chance, because stuff like that actually helps me have fun in the game. And I use heartseeker as a damage(not spam, i don’t get my damage from it mostly)+escape tool (because Death Blossom and Dancing Dagger are overlooked by most thieves imo.)
But about your comment about nerfing us to the ground.
Are you serious? You want an entire profession to just go extinct, just like that, and then come back when nobody is looking? Who would be your “worthy players”?
And I don’t even travel with a group, I personally think they weigh me down if I need to do anything quickly and unseen. If it was a group of thieves, I just kinda leave and go around and pick my own fights when I know I can win.
I don’t know, your views are your own (I don’t agree at all though) but everyone has their own viewpoint of everything.
The razing has begun.
That popped up when I first opened the forum, and I laughed. The razing (of the thief profession) has truly begun.
Not only are we one of the most nerfed classes to date right now, it’s that Elementalists who can screw up everything can still get away with their plethora of escapes or heal back to full within a matter of seconds using only a few abilities.
The whole Thief community (and me) is tired of people who don’t play Thieves complain about how Thieves are OP, even after we get nerfed.
I’ve learned to adapt to these changes, but we need a break. Sooner or later, Thieves will just go extinct in ANY form of gameplay (PvE, WvW, sPvP.) Our PvE isn’t too strong anymore, and our PvP options are slowly dwindling.
We’ve been through a lot. We’ve been through QQ about our class. We’ve been called imba, OP, you name it. We need a break.
(i’m kinda QQ’ing a bit too, but I needed to get that out.)
calm down. more and clear info would also be appreciated.
so do you still see your desktop and such outside of the game?
i guess, if you can still see the forums…well, you might be online with a phone or something…
if yes, go to “C\Users\”your-windows-name"\My Documents\Guild Wars 2\" and delete the “local.dat” file.
that’s actually all I needed, thank you so much!
somebody please help, it’s almost impossible to fix
I played around with my refresh rate, and now I can’t see my screen to change it at all. Is there any way to edit your options outside of the game?
I think that replacing/removing the orb carrier’s abilities is going way too far. Less emphasis on abilities means more emphasis on stats. That decision would make beefy, soldier amulet wearing warriors who are traited in defense and tactics to be the best choice as the orb runner. Furthermore, a loss of abilities in addition to the slow buff would also mean that your team is down one man for however long it takes to run the orb (or fail) – meaning that getting the orb to the destination would be much, much too risky and difficult to coordinate to be worth the effort of 15-30 points. This would probably result in teams ignoring the concept of actually running the orb, and rather focus on holding points and capitalizing on the team unbalance when their opponents remove one of their members to try to run it.
If you fight a decent and coordinated team, they’re probably going to end up capping the orb if they get it, regardless of what class is running the orb. The key to stopping any orb runner is to not let them pick up the orb in the first place. The battle for the orb (usually) ends once it’s been picked up.
I personally don’t think Ride the Lightning is a huge issue, but I can see why people would be complaining. Rather than remove the abilities of orb runners, just make RTL affected by cripple/chill/fear/ and lower the cooldown.
or you know, make it so that RTL just makes you drop the orb instantly like other classes, or atleast affect the speed and distance at which you travel while using RTL.(since speed debuff)that way, people aren’t complaining about how D/D elementalist’s have no mobility.
But your idea works too, don’t get me wrong.
Will ANet ever do the thing they did for Lost Shores, where you could invite a few of your friends and then they can play the game with you for a weekend? All of my friends want to try it before they buy it, and I just want to know when this will happen again.
Thanks!
JQ just opened.
You are a gift from heaven.
Anyone know if a US server is open right now?
