It’s called “File Digging-Reddit”, how could you not assume that there will be spoilers in there?
Please don’t BAN the exploiters! I wasn’t one of them but to say people deserve banning for this is laughable at best.
Thanks for the reply, guess I’ll just have to wait and see then. Seems like there should be few issues if they do just make use of those servers then.
Thanks for trying to help anyway!
I’ve sorted it though, my objective was to check mail, though I was confused as they were all listed as read. Seems that the objective simply hadn’t been moved on as I hadn’t read the mail for long enough…? Thanks!
So I’m currently living in England and am playing on the European server of Gandara. However, I’m going to be moving to Korea in a month but don’t have the option of switching to a Korean server, only an American or European one. I suppose my question is, “what do?” Is there any way that I’ll be able to switch to another server other than those I’m given the option of right now? I realise this isn’t going to be an issue that many people will have encountered themselves but I thought I’d take a wild stab in the dark.
Can’t seem to start this mission, I have the green star on my map in Lion’s Arch but when I go to the location there is no way to start the mission. I tried yesterday, logged on again today and still can’t start the mission.
Either :
A. You dragged them to the box, but mis dragged and deleted (You clicked yes to a confirmation of delete)
B. Your name field auto populated and sent to wrong dude
C. Your friend has not deleted old mail and has a full mailbox (Which can be fixed by him deleting mail)
D. You typed manually his account name incorrect, and it belonged to a different player
No Anet didnt intercept it. My friend since GW1 lent me well over 150G+ to obtain gifts for my legendary, I sent him 500e a few weeks later, to pay him back. Both unbanned.
Or none of the above. The same thing happened to me while I was trying to send the Princess Wand skin to a friend. I dragged the skin over to the message window but because they were overlapping somewhat I missed the box and the item was deleted without any further action. Feel like I got off exceptionally lightly now.
The fact you’re even thinking about it and that you got one-shotted pretty much answers your own question.
For me personally I’d say it is far too low simply because I’m not good enough to survive on such a low health pool. The absolute minimum I’d have is 14k and so far I’ve never even gone that low.
I feel for you, I really do. I’ve not had anything like this happen to me thankfully but I think that’s down to me avoiding these sort of groups to the best of my ability.
I don’t mind groups that are set up to do speed runs of certain areas, if they wanna farm CoF1 with full zerk gear then that’s their choice, but some of the postings you see on GW2lfg are dripping with elitism or idiocy just by looking at them.
“LFWARRIOR COF P1 SPEEDRUN FARM ALL ZERK GEAR 1 HOUR + PING ALL GEAR ON JOIN NO NOOBS”
Seeing that kind of post instantly tells me that at least one person in that group is a fool, probably the rest of them are too for joining such a group.
Maybe I’m being elitist there…?
This is such a tiny, insignificant thing but I just noticed it and thought I might as well say about it.
The exotic set of heavy armour “Galrath’s” has a typo of “us” instead of “use” on the final rune affect. Just thought you should know.
There, now I won’t have countless sleepless nights worrying about it.
QUOTE:I have to be honest, when listened this login music, had to log off immediately. (For some reason quote was screwing this post up…)
That says more about you as a person that it ever will about this update.
Some of the reactions of people on here are frankly, laughable.
I don’t find the minigame all that fun as I’ve had two out of three groups quit halfway complaining about length and difficulty. I do agree it is a bit long but I can stick it out rather than cry into my pillow at night.
This is a really fantastic update even though I do have a couple of issues with it. The idea behind it is great and I would love to see stuff like this again and would be happy to see it stay too.
For those complaining about it’s placement in he world, thank you for being the best April fool I could ever ask for. Lots of hugs and sloppy kisses. xxx
Definitely helps those who are more used to other MMO playstyles. Emphasis on character movement will help me out I’m sure. (Y)
I’m actually gutted that I probably won’t be using staff for any necro I create as there are a couple of great necro-esque staff skins out there. The scythe skin and the one with the green lighted lantern on it (I forget the name) both look awesome. If you really want to complain about weapon skins then I think daggers would be your best bet.
I’ve never been kicked from a group and that’s probably because I stay very quiet whenever I am in a group. I just try to get on with it, not try to mess up and try be patient if someone else does take their time catching up.
I received abuse from a team the other day during fractals. It was the orb carrying fractal and people just kept picking them up regardless of whether or not others were in position. When I asked if they’d done it before and they answered with “no” I proceeded to explain. They still continued to pick up the orbs so I asked them not to, there was even a “please” in there. The response was something along the lines of “stfu we’re on Skype”.
I’d already waited for this group for about twenty minutes after being told they needed a short five minute break. I was hoping for a quick run as I didn’t have much time, foolish me I suppose for thinking I’d stick so well to my own time constraints. I was going to let them get on with the fractal while I stood there but I then realised that I was very unlikely to get to the end anyway after all the standing around.
I said that they come across as a bit of a kitten, told them I had to leave (which was actually true), wished them luck and then left. That was the first time I ever left a group, I felt dirty doing it as I knew how annoying it was when a monk on GW1 would say “want to do this alone, then?”
Sure, that wasn’t about kicking per se but the I suppose the moral of the story I’m trying to get across is that people are idiots. No matter how nice you are you’ll always find that there is some moron just waiting to show himself to you in a team somewhere. Giving smart remarks is only going to encourage people to be bigger idiots and you’re just as much a part of the problem as yourself. The only time I think people should be kicked from a group is if they get d/c’d for an extended period of time or they really are being a total plonker.
tl;dr – Most of that was irrelevant. Anyway, the majority should rule. Three votes should be needed for a kick.
Thanks a lot for the advice! Slowly working my way up to full berserker gear rather than going straight into it sounds like a plan.
I had been using the rifle as my second weapon so I suppose I’ve been going in the right direction there and my traits have been 20/30/0/0/20. Having the 100% chance of rally is nice but it’s not all that useful if you’re getting downed two or three times every encounter.
I virtually never used my burst skills as I had traits helping out with higher adrenaline so I found Mending to be more useful but I’ll give Healing Surge a go and see if it helps.
It’s called Glass Cannon for a reason, Bulls Charge and hundred blades. That will knock out a good amount of there health, I can hit for about 14K I’m still building my gear.
Thanks, but I’m not sure how that was supposed to help?
Perhaps I should have stated already that I am primarily using a greatsword.
Don’t get hit
Seeing as I don’t know a thing about warriors, have you tried the warrior profession forum? Those are usually most helpful with profession specific questions.
That’s kind of what I was aiming for, there’s only so many dodges you’re allowed in a certain space of time though!
I really am terrible at playing as a warrior and I’m not too sure why I get killed so so easily.
My first character was Guardian that focused on Altruistic Healing so naturally they were pretty hard to kill.
I decided to go on the complete opposite scale for things with my warrior and I was going to make them full berserker. I didn’t though. I’ve just reached level 80 and I’ve equipped myself in a berserker rare armour set (no jewels or runes yet) and a set of knight’s jewellery. So I do have at least some toughness in there. I did that as I realised I wasn’t going to last long going full berserker, but the toughness from the jewellery seems to do next to nothing.
Sure I can kill things kitten quick compared to my guardian but it seems like in any dungeons if I get hit even once then half of my health is gone. Sure I’m dodging as often as I can and healing whenever possible but it doesn’t seem to be doing me much good.
So, after all that I guess I’m asking, “what am I doing wrong”?
My utility skills are all damage based (For great justice, frenzy and on my mark) so should I be making them more defensive? That seems a little counter-productive to me though if you’re going to try and focus purely on damage with your stats then making your utilities defence based.
I haven’t bothered getting exotic armour yet as I’m not sure it’s worth investing in them with this set of stats only to find them useless.
tl;dr – How the hell do you play (not even full) zerker warrior without dying in 2-3 hits in dungeons?
I have nothing to add except that I agree, it’s irritating to search through a bunch of stuff that is unusable.
We were kind of getting at the fact that not everybody thinks that way.
Any power, toughness, vitality exotic armour seems like the bets bet.
It doesn’t bother me that everyone is stuck with the same town clothes by default and that’s because I never use mine anyway. I’ve seen the town clothes that are available to buy and some of them look ace, there’s no way I will be ever be purchasing any of them though for the simple reason that they are….well, town clothes. The pirate captain outfit is awesome but if I’m not allowed to wear it while fighting then you can forget it.
I prefer them in the day, can you please allow them never to glow?
I do think more armour needs to be added to the game, I would expect that any we do see added would be done if and when we get any expansions. I’d love to see more armour sets in general but I wouldn’t exactly complain about the amount of armour sets in the game at the moment. My only complaint regarding armour would be that there really only becomes any sort of choice or variation in the much later levels. It’s only around level 50-55 that a few new sets become available and I really think there should be more choice for the lower levels. Nothing special of course as they would obviously be reserved for the higher levels but it does feel lacking at the moment.
The whole idea of someone actually being offended/bothered by the architecture and NPC names in Cantha just seems completely absurd to me.
This 100%. People complaining about Canthan people having names from various origins, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, seems a little strange. Names such as Logan and Caudecus are certainly not of the same origin and yet we find them together in Kryta. Is that really so unbelievable? Am I going to get upset about it since I’m European? Only if I’m a complete idiot.
There’s a thread somewhere saying that they’re bugged as they’re giving out the wrong weapons. They’re still available for purchase but they an’t be opened until the bug is fixed, so says a dev. I’d link you to the thread but after searching for it very quickly I can’t find it so you’ll just have to take my word for it.
Terrible idea. I make sure I get full exotic equipment on my characters now before even really attempting any of the dungeons but if people started making requirements of needing such gear then that just becomes a ridiculous level of elitism.
While pinging skills in the original GW was necessary in some parts to make sure people weren’t too ill-equipped it still led to really obnoxious conversations a lot of the time because of people who were “better at the game” than others.
If people are so desperate to get the daily straight away rather than getting it naturally then good luck to them I suppose.
What’s the relevance between the thread title and the actual question?
Check out the announcements if you don’t know what has been/will be added.
I have. There’s a slight mention of some events in certain areas, and Heralds that talk to you about events going on, but that’s it.
Nothing remotely interesting or story driven
So then to answer your original question of what they’ve added:

These replies saying “well don’t do it” to various threads sure are helpful. As is this one.
While I agree that some of the changes seem poor or unnecessary, I don’t see what GW1 has to do with it. Go play that if you miss it so much, I certainly still play it from time to time.
People have been banned from much less than that fo’ sho.
I totally agree this should be removed. I got a superior rune in Twilight Arbor that would have been perfect for my Necro but unfortunately got it on my Guardian and ended up having to merch it for a few measly silver.
Apologies if these has been addressed before…multiple times.
While a lot of people seem to be complaining about the lack of lines given to characters or bad voice acting in general I’m not too bothered by either of these in truth.
I generally play as human female characters (though I do have one male Asura character which I actually really like the voice of) which means that all of my characters have exactly the same voice. I think it would be great if there were more choices in voices to give to characters upon creation to add a little variety. Hearing all my characters with the same voice is a little boring and I’ve ended up skipping all cutscenes now as the voice doesn’t seem to fit with some of my characters.
I tried making a Charr character but the voice just didn’t get with the way I envisaged it whatsoever and I actually ended up getting rid of it. I’m not exactly into the roleplaying element of the game or anything but it would be nice to be able to add that extra level of personality with a couple more voice options even if they are your stereotypical archetypes (heroic, gruff, humble etc).
