Has anything official been said about this? I’m having this issue now, disabled all my security and nothing seems to work. I uninstalled the game a redownloaded the client and that doesn’t work either. I’m getting frustrated :-X

I want less animals and many, many more patrolling guards. It should feel like areas are controlled by a faction, not just be random cap locations in the middle of nowhere where are couple of guards are lazily sleeping on their post.

Best suggestion ever, especially in areas where there are multiple caps ( tower + camp + keep) I think this would be a great way to mix things up so it’s not a full-on zerg fest as you’d need players cleaning up NPCs more.

What? This would mean more zerging! Small groups would be crippled serverly by having to take out even more PvE trash. Zergs could just roll right through like nothing’s there. This is a terrible idea. More NPCs, more PvE, more of the unfun CHORES to get through before actually playing WvW

What PvE mobs do you find yourself having to deal with currently outside of sentries and camp/tower/keep guards? You can pretty easily avoid everything.

In my opinion, adding patrolling guards on routes and roaming NPCs would spice things up for people who like to roam solo or in packs of 2-4. The reward should be there for such actions too, of course, but I don’t think adding server loyal NPCs is a bad thing.

I don’t know where the imbalances lie, personally. Is it in skill level, WvW participation on some servers, or overall population? This is data that ANet should be collecting (which i’m sure they are) but if they have this data they should share it so players can make informed decisions about whether they want to switch servers and such. Just offering free transfers doesn’t help when we don’t really know where we’re going. I’d like to go to a server, possibly, that has active WvW participation not just high population. But at the same time I enjoy the WvW crew I have, it seems to me and most people we just don’t have enough. But I don’t have hard numbers, which I think ANet would have. Can we maybe get a peak at those so we can be more informed?

One up and one down solves some problems but creates a bunch more. Including that it invalidates ratings entirely. It no longer takes into account quality of victory but simply uses the fact of victory to move a server out of the matchup they were previously in. The system we are using now creates varied matchups, which will allow us to get more accurate ratings. As those become more accurate we can dial down on the amount of variance we are introducing to have matchups that are varied, but less prone to large rating gaps between the servers. But, again, this is entirely based on server rating, which is the thing we have actually been calculating this entire time. Until that number is a more accurate reflection of server quality, we are going to keep mixing the matchups up.

If you guys want any kind of longevity to WvW match ups and player migration need to be improved. I’d go so far as creating new servers that are WvW specific and allowing players to transfer there for free (based on number of hours spent in WvW) placement would be based on a mix of skill level and server population. The number of blow blowouts week in and week out is a little ridiculous, and you have to see that in many cases it is the same servers getting blown out.

A lot of people share your view, but it is not one person’s fault.

A lot of people don’t. There are far bigger screw ups in other games that this doesn’t seem nearly as big a deal. At least they’re trying to evolve the game. Voice your displeasure but let’s not attack the devs for trying to do their job. Everybody messes up sometimes.

Since tier won’t matter at all after this coming reset, feel free to transfer to FA if and only if you guys are able to work together with all the FA WvW players & commanders, without having a mindset “I’m more superior than you are, especially those who are not in my guild.”

Or else, feel free to move to other servers.

Regular AC’s are not op. They can still barely do damage to an army and don’t do much to slow down an attack. Unless of course you have 12 of them like what certain people were complaining about. However, I have never seen 12 ac’s set up in my tier.

There is definitely a difference between higher and lower tiers opinions on this matter. Just the other day, we had 4 ac’s set up and they did kitten to defend agains a golem rush. May as well have just sat there and not built them. This was in a T3 fortified gate.

They need to make AC’s damage Golems more. Or make Golems damage gates less (which is my preference). The rate at which golems can melt even a fortified gate is rediculous. You may as well have a bunch of Quaggans stacked up in the archway.

If it’s numerous golems than yeah of course they’re gonna rush through a gate. I don’t really see the problem. Golems cost a boatload of supply to build but they really aren’t that difficult to take down., more requires persistence and focus on the golems. But if there are a lot of them rushing you than I think it’d be pretty difficult to overcome them by design.

Just a general suggestion thread, but I’d like to see some intelligent ways of improving the game. We know that numbers pretty much decide the game at the moment and I’m wondering if there are any ideas primarily to give servers with lower numbers a true fighting chance against other servers that outnumber them. A primary suggestion would be to add a debuff to invaders in an enemy BL. Maybe make the rewards better but at the same time add an “Unfamiliar Territory” debuff. Another suggestion would be to scale stats based on the number of enemy players around you. Not 1 or two but based on like 5-10 intervals. Just a couple ideas, I’d like to see some others.

Except the glitch doesn’t affect every server. In the case of FC we’re the only server currently affected by the glitch(at least on our home BL and EB) and we also have an opponent (HoD) who has vastly superior numbers to us and has no qualms in taking advantage of our inability to properly defend ourselves. The glitch doesn’t make the game more fun for everyone and generally is frustrating to those actually trying to play it.

WvW isn’t like regular PvP and success isn’t generally dependent upon gear it’s mostly dependent on tactics and numbers. There doesn’t need to be a separation of gear. What would that add to the game?

If you want to make a real difference and feel like you’re actually doing something I suggest joining a T8 server that isn’t HoD (ET or FC.) Both of these servers constantly have their backs against a wall and only through perseverance have we even been able to keep some semblance of a community alive. FC has a very passionate community for WvW but the primary issue is it constantly feels like we’re banging our heads against a wall. I think that the addition of Rethesis could make a huge difference in our success and if you want to feel rewarded for your work then I think you know what the clear choice would be.

On the bright side at least I know it wasn’t just me :-). I was guesting on another server and went to WvW to see what it’d say (first time guesting) and as it went to the load page I got booted. I thought I did something terribly wrong :-D

I’m curious if there are any. I’m still remember new, still on my first character only level 21 bit I’m interested in doing more WvW. Are there any guilds that are focused in some way on WvW and trying to further the server’s status?
