If I remember correctly, you just need to be in the instance. I know it works for all the achievements in the final mission fighting the dragon in the cave. Though for that one you need to get yourself killed by something other than the rocks in the first part of the fight.

Awesome thank you!

Was just wondering if it’s possible to have someone else run the story Seeds of Truth while you’re in the instance and get the achievement for you while you sit back or if we have to do it ourselves? It seems really intimidating _

Solution to fix the population imbalance

in WvW

Posted by: Junebug.2350

Junebug.2350

If servers are merged and a lower cap on WvW population were to happen, that means longer wait times for people who aren’t used to queues longer than 10-15 if they have any at all. I second merging larger servers into smaller servers if a merge is going to be done and keeping the cap the way it is. As far as NA goes, decrease the amount of servers from the whopping 24 to 18 or 12.

Maybe make the outnumbered buff feel like it actually counts for something in combat. Most of the time when our server is outnumbered, we’re a group of 15-20 against a zerg of 80+. Magic Find and Experience is a rather insulting buff if we’re the ones who keep getting run over—unless drops are buffed for outnumbered as well when the only things they can kill are camp veterans. Otherwise, I suggest buffing outnumbered WvW server abilities by 3% or 4% and maybe armor stats by 1% or 2%.

The problem with relying on server population is that not everyone in that server will play WvW and an even larger problem is that some servers have no oceanic coverage. My current server has little to no night coverage versus the monstrous night coverage of other servers that we go against. I honestly don’t know a solution to this except merging larger servers into smaller servers unless there’s some kind of algorithm to tell who spends a lot of time in WvW.

Hi! My name is June. I’m fairly new to the game (if a year is considered ‘new’ XD) and there’s a lot to love about the environment NSP brings. We have a lot of guilds dedicated to bringing smooth dungeon, temple, and world boss runs as well as a safe learning environment for anyone who is new or may be a boomerang player (plays on and off).

In WvW, the camaraderie and trust is strong and we’re always learning about one another through the many trials and tribulations our rivals bring. The only people we’re missing is a night family (or your daytime)—most of our WvW players come from Eastern, Central, and Pacific time zones. We’ve been through a lot of blood and sweat to climbing our way back to the top in the one year I’ve been playing GW2.

In the last WvW tournament, we were Rank 21. We climbed our way up to Rank 18 in that tournament and, this tournament, we are currently Rank 13. I’m going to be there when we push our way out of Silver and back into Gold rankings. Our commanders are very skilled and they’re always learning and teaching different strategies every time I run with them. Unfortunately, they’re not robots and can’t stay up 24/7. We need the help of more likeminded folks. So I am here hoping to enlist the help of a night family willing to fight with us underdogs (or your daytime)!

Any help is appreciated! If you have any questions, you can pop them below and I’ll try my best to answer! Have a nice day and enjoy this sometimes accurate depiction of our midnight family!

Human Cultural T3 clipping through thighs

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

I made my human Thief the most voluptuous I could make her and her thighs clip right through the human T3 cultural armor (Rampager Assassin’s Coat) as well as the gem store’s Magitech Leggings that I intend to get. It looks like that in all settings, including high settings.

I really like this outfit and would like not to have to make her the skinniest body type just so that it looks like the clothes fit please.

Also issues like Asuran ears clipping through headgear is a problem that needs addressing. Please have these fixed in a patch. Thank you.

[Suggestions] Saving trait builds in-game

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

It’s probably been said many, many times but please do this. I love the free reign with builds and I’m grateful for it considering how unforgiving other RPGs are about building characters but switching back and forth is really inconvenient. I’ve missed out on a lot just searching for my build in my bookmarks and then replugging traits when switching to PVE and PVP when I could have saved time with a click of a button, especially when I’m learning a new class. Please and thank you.

Consuming recipes—account-wide or character?

For example, if I consume Light of Dwayna recipe on my Warrior because she has 500 Armorsmith, will it also be available on my Mesmer who has 500 Tailoring and my Ranger with 500 Leatherworking?

Alternatively, if I consume Light of Dwayna recipe on my 500 Armorsmith warrior, will that same recipe be found if I get my Tailoring and Leatherworking up later?

New engie coming soon (to a theater near you)

I just got a new character slot and I’m stuck between making a norn engineer or an asuran engineer and I thought who better to ask than engie mains and people who understand the class best

- Pros for Asura: super cute, it makes sense because they love diggin’ into the mechanics of things, and you get a golem tank (but do engies need it?).
- Pros for Norn: the female cultural medium armor—a set goal I have, it’d be totally non-conformist and people wouldn’t expect a Ranger-looking engie once I get the aforementioned armor set, and you shapeshift into an awesome animal.

I also plan on making a Ranger in the future so, for instance, if I end up making the engie an Asuran, I’ll make the Ranger a Norn and vice versa. I’m making the engineer first which is why I’m asking but anyone who knows stuff about Rangers can definitely give me tips on which race would be better for it.

[REQ] Player Level Next To Name in LFG

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Junebug.2350

Junebug.2350

The most annoying thing is about this, is that normal 80s will start leaving the party as soon as they see a low level— even before I have a chance to start a kick vote. Then you have to wait to replace 2-3 people instead of just the one person who couldn’t read.

Yeah, I only leave if the person who put up LFG hasn’t initiated a kick.

I joined parties expecting experienced level 80’s like the descriptions ask for. When I saw level 30’s, I got penalized when I left and couldn’t rejoin other parties. It still says “You have joined too many parties recently. Please wait a moment before trying to join again.”

ANet, please put the level next to the player names when we hover over their icons! That’d be really convenient so that we don’t have to face these penalties in the future. I understand the necessity of the cooldown but it’s way too long. Simply putting player level would be a good preventative measure.

Side Note: Anyone know how long the time penalty is exactly? I still can’t join so I’m thinking 15mins+? Way too long of a cooldown.

EDIT: 2 hours after my post, I was still on cooldown. Needs fixing ANet!

Toxic community or just my server?

Aww, I’m sorry to hear that I’m on NSP and I’m pretty social. Found the server to be really nice. It’s a really nice, fun, and helpful community. If you get picked on, people back you up pretty fast. I always feel welcomed there, especially with such nice guilds

What is so bad about a PU mesmer?

in Mesmer

Posted by: Junebug.2350

Junebug.2350

People like WhiteRose only wanna harp on PU mesmers because they enjoy a playstyle that requires less aggression and more caution, awareness, timing, and strategy. That’s okay.

What’s not okay is being an elitist jag and telling other players they’re bad at a class because they play anything that has to do with a trait they feel so personally offended by. I started playing GW2 a few weeks ago and mesmer was my first toon. I went down the first builds I saw as soon as I hit level 80—shatter mesmer and it frustrated me more often than not to the point where I wanted to give up several times. Sometimes I just feel like running into a group and smacking a few people around but, with this build, I found myself dying more often than not because there’s almost no survivability for that liberal of a playstyle. PU offers a way out to players who don’t always wanna be so tactical about everything.

I’m better at shattering now and I haven’t tried the PU build yet but it’s disgusting to say that one way is right and the other way is wrong. There’s so much to experiment with and all people wanna do is limit others. As soon as people see something that’s difficult for them to counter, they cry “OP!” Play the way you want to and see what’s most fun. Don’t let people on their high horses tell you how to play. Find a way that works for you then kick them off that horse
